Trucking giant Yellow collapsed on Sunday, ceasing operations immediately and leaving some 30,000 workers without jobs. The closure is the biggest in terms of jobs and revenue in the U.S. trucking industry, according to The Wall Street Journal - which first reported its shutdown. The company, which received $700 million in federal COVID relief funds in 2020, is preparing to file for bankruptcy and is in talks to sell off all or parts of the business. The nearly 100-year-old firm is known for its competitive pricing and has more than 12,000 trucks shipping freight across the US for brands including Walmart and Home Depot. But in recent years

Jimmy Hoffa stole my father's pension money to help the mafia build gambling casinos in Las Vegas and bribe politicians. I have no sympathy for the Teamsters Union. When he retired he presented his past Teamster credentials. They offered .25 on the dollar, take it or leave it. He had no options. The alternative was 'get out of our office and don't come back.'

#8, they have to set enough money aside to cover their liabilities for ranges of numbers of trucks on the road. Many companies do the same with medical insurance. It's cheaper because they do not have to pay insurance commissions or agents.

Unions are parasites. I’ve seen them do far more harm than good. My uncle was given a firearm, by law enforcement, back in the 80’s to defend himself when the Teamsters were trying to worm their way into taking his business. Luckily he never had to go that far. They’re users.

Unions doing what they do best. Bleed a company dry and then blame management. Unions have bankrupted over 90% of the trucking companies that have gone out of business since the early 1900's. And now, while union leaders go home and dine on lobster and filet the workers go home to rice and beans. They never get it.

A Georgia judge on Monday rejected former U.S. President Donald Trump's bid to quash an investigation into whether he illegally interfered with the state's 2020 election, just days before criminal charges are expected to be filed. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney denied Trump's request to disqualify the lead prosecutor, block any potential indictments and throw out a special grand jury report that included recommendations on whom to charge. The report has remained sealed under McBurney's orders pending charges in the case, one of many legal troubles Trump faces. Separately in Miami, a Trump aide appeared in federal court on Monday to face charges he tried to

Three House committees sent a letter to attorney general Merrick Garland on Monday demanding information about Hunter Biden’s plea deal, which was put on hold by a federal judge last week after she declared the terms of the deal were “unusual.” The younger Biden was charged in June with felony gun possession and two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay taxes in 2017 and 2018. He had been set to agree to a plea deal that included a recommendation of probation for the tax violations. Under the deal, the gun charge would have been dropped and potentially wiped from Biden’s record if he met certain conditions. However, Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty

On the one hand, they have boosted his popularity among members of the conservative base, who see the wave of politically motivated indictments as a brazen attempt to use the legal system to influence the outcome of the upcoming presidential election. However, new reports show that these issues are making a significant dent in his campaign’s war chest. So far, the political action committee supporting Trump’s bid for the White House has spent a considerable sum of money on legal fees:

WILMINGTON, Delaware, - A Florida judge on Friday rejected a Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) request to dismiss a lawsuit by an oversight district, a move that could make it harder for the entertainment giant to pursue its own case against Governor Ron DeSantis as part of a yearlong feud. The ruling allows the oversight district to pursue its case that seeks to void "backroom deals" favorable to Disney that were struck with a prior district board earlier this year. If those deals were voided, the district has said it would nearly wipe out Disney's federal case against DeSantis. A Disney spokesperson said the decision "has no bearing" on the federal lawsuit
