This July will mark my being in remission from leukemia for five years, and thus no longer being a cancer patient, and yet my journey as a perma-patient has only just begun. As a permanent patient, I now need several types of continued care for the rest of my life because of the treatments I received. It was an expected tradeoff that comes with surviving an aggressive form of leukemia (Snip) Lupron is prescribed as a “puberty blocker” for children with “gender dysphoria.” As someone who has taken it, I am appalled. I cannot fathom how using Lupron on otherwise healthy bodies, knowing its long-term side effects, isn’t criminal.

My previous response was apparently blocked.

Did you, or anyone who professes to love you, seek a second opinion?

Medicine, for all of human existence, has been subject to wishful thinking and fads. Over the last century it has been imagined as based completely in science. Perhaps it is somewhat more true than it was before but we have witnessed over the last few years how flimsy the concept of 'science' can be when applied to epidemics, healthcare, medications, and vaccines if it suits the current fad or political imperative. All of medicine and most of our doctors have been so exposed and the trust enjoyed by doctors lost. I am not surprised that children have been put at risk - and much worse - by the fad of transsexuality.

For those who did not bother to read the article - she was given less than 24 hours to decide her treatment, it was life or death situation. She's grateful for the treatment she received, she's not complaining that she was on this medication, merely sharing her experience. Her point is that for her and others like her, taking the drug was worth the risk but it should not be prescribed to healthy children, children who think they were born in the wrong body.

It's gender affirming health care. It's all good. You must be some kind of MAGA conservative monster. s/o
No child should be subjected to any of this treatment. With or without their parents permission. This is something an adult only, 18 or older, should be deciding for themselves. It's evil.

If you read her story, you will find that she was very seriously ill and given the puberty blockers to create menopause so that she would not mensetruate, during which her doctors feared she would hemorrhage. She clearly gave fully informed consent.
The point of her story is that she has continuing effects from the treatment and wonders why anyone would take or allow their child to take those drugs for gender issues. She had a good medical reason. When you have life-theatening cancer, the options cam be few if any. Gender tinkering is only life-threatening if life-changing meds are given. Not a parallel situation.

Powerful argument in this article with real honest facts concerning the long term effects of the modications the criminal medical community is pumping into uniformed, mentally ill children. But do not expect the other side to listen.
The Democrat monsters don't even listen to their own "experts" concerning the absolute unknown side effects and consequences of "gender affirming" surgeries as we saw in the House Committee yesterday. All the infantile hate filled Dems walked out. They might as well have stuck their fingers in their ears and started screaming "Lalalala I can't hear you!!"

Quite simply allowing a child to convince you to allow them to play around with losing their genital's is child abuse.

Very thoughtful article. The writer gives an adult perspective in which she describes having 24 hours to choose what she hopes will be life-affirming care with specific drugs that will produce life long side effects, but allow her to live.
She then explains that children are being "treated" for gender dysphoria with double the dosage of the drugs that killed her cancer. She questions the wisdom of putting children through treatment with cancer drugs that create life long side effects in adults, when the child has a mental diagnosis of "gender dysphoria." Why would "gender affirming care" that turns children into life-long medical patients ever be an option for a child under the age of 18? There seems to be a growing number of young people who got "gender affirming care" and are now overwhelmed with regret. They now have physical and mental issues to contend with, and they're looking to courts to figure out who should be held accountable for what was done to them.
