It’s going to get a lot more huggy in the brand image of Team DeSantis 2.0 According to campaign officials, and those inside the operations, DeSantis will stop talking about Florida, tone down the wokeism and confrontation with the alphabet people, drop the expensive platform speeches and focus on small group meetings to help the candidate learn how to like people more. In essence, stop being the DeSantis campaign. (snip)Expect fewer big speeches and more handshaking in diners and churches. There will be more of a national focus than constant Florida references. And the mainstream media may start to get more access.

How do you learn to like people more? He's doing a do-over. It won't help. He'd be better off dropping out and just waiting for the next term.

I haven't written DeSantis off just yet. This is a long campaign and we are still early. He is learning from mistakes which is important. I'll continue to watch DeSantis and see how he evolves. We all know at best Trump is one term only going forward. We need a strong bench after 2024. Even if Trump wins and meets all our expectations, in 2028 someone had to come behind him and continue. The Deep State has been in development since FDR. It will not go quietly into that good night. It will take more than Trump.

People are known by the company they keep or in this case DeSantis is known by the donor class who supports him and the individuals from whom he seeks advice. Neither of these groups make me confident of the way he would govern should he be elected POTUS. Additionally the way he sorta threw his Florida constituents under the bus to run for President now when he could easily have waited until 2028 when he would have been the clear front runner doesn't sit well with me. Maybe Casey's pushing him to run now because she badly wants to be FLOTUS. In any case, for me the bloom is off the DeSantis rose.

I think one of the problems is that DeSantis has no charisma. He doesn’t seem to have much of a sense of humor either. When he laughs it’s kind of awkward and wooden. Can he fill the stadiums like President Trump? I don’t think so.

#8 is correct. And there is no way Trump wins a general election. Even with ridiculous court proceedings, he's openly running against 55% of the Republican party. For the RINOs he trashes, does anyone think their voters are going to fall in line with him? Without moderates, independents and disaffected Democrats, he's toast. And with all the coverage in conservative media about Biden and Burisma and Hunter, it's being ignored and swept under the rug by the MSM. Also, national polls are irrelevant and Trump remains behind in the swing states.

Anyone else struck by similarities between Ron DeSantis and Jeb Bush? Florida is a prosperous state. Any incumbent governor will reap the benefits of that as long as nobody screws it up. That makes governing easy. Just stay out of the way and keep everyone else out of the way. Florida can take care of itself for the most part from an economic view. Basically, do nothing for the most part. You never know the governor well because they never have to step forward much.

Good grief. I feel like I’m on a liberal website. DeSantis is closer to Trump in how he would govern, if elected than any of the others running and yet he is just like Jeb, or he is boring, or his wife is making him run. Those are the things I hear on The View and MSNBC. Again, Trump is likely to be our nominee, and we will go down in flames again as he gets his second chance. Sorry, but the Democrats are way ahead in getting “vote” in the right states. I’ll certainly do my share and vote for Trump, but he’s not going to win in my state, and he needs this state.

I’m sorry, but I have to voice my opinion. My father served in the army Corps of Engineers over 30 years. When he retired to the St.Augustine area of Florida, Ron DeSantis was his congressional representative. Dad was very political and actually contacted his representatives in both the congress and senate. He was extremely impressed with Rep. DeSantis. As a President Trump supporter, I was thrilled with the prospect of a Trump/ DeSantis ticket that would allow DeSantis to run as almost an incumbent in 2028. 🇺🇸 I am heartbroken 💔 that he has been blinded by the corrupt RINO faction and never Trumpers. 😢

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s own ‘Never Back Down’ super PAC could soon morph into ‘Not Backing DeSantis’, with controversial consultant grifter Jeff Roe reportedly telling donors unhappy with the Florida Governor’s dismal polling that he may pivot to supporting Tim Scott, or even Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. The National Pulse’s own sourcing on this matter was also confirmed by Caroline Wren, senior advisor to Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who says Roe has been telling disgruntled donors that Never Back Down could “support other candidates than just Ron DeSantis, which is a strange thing to say unless you’re starting to lay the groundwork of a potential DeSantis exit.”
