President Joe Biden called in on King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Monday on his way to this week’s NATO summit, being treated to tea and talk on climate change. The U.S. leader was met with a parade and band at Windsor Castle on Monday afternoon, (snip) Biden appeared transfixed for a moment when he received a traditional sword salute presenting of arms from an officer of the Guards (snip) leaving Britain’s King Charles having to work to regain the President’s attention. Appearing confused, or even consciously ignoring Charles III, Biden seemed to be trying to engage the guardsman in conversation.

Comments:

And then good ole Joe threw his arm around the King’s back….

If my experience with a demented relative is any guide, Charles did all the talking during "tea," while Biden sat there saying, "uh huh," staring blankly off into space, or blurting out some off-the-wall question or statement when Charles took a breath.

The Resident, looking bewildered, lost focus and stopped paying attention to whatever the king was saying before he tried to make small talk with a Royal guard. (Royal guards on duty don't talk or change expression.) At one time he appeared to be shuffling his feet toward a flower garden, but the king intervened before Joe got into the petals. Want to see more embarrassment to America? Wait until tomorrow. What's he going to do then?

In essence, stop being the DeSantis campaign. (snip)Expect fewer big speeches and more handshaking in diners and churches. There will be more of a national focus than constant Florida references. Just call him the librarian-in-chief. In yet another gross abuse of executive authority, President Joe Biden is wielding the power of his Department of Education to stop parental efforts to remove sexually explicit books from public school libraries. It’s his latest in a string of moves meant to bully parents and other concerned citizens into silence when it comes to what kids learn in public schools and, in this case, when they should be exposed to sexually explicit material. But the notion that the federal government has any authority to veto a school district’s decision to protect students from pornographic content belongs in the library’s fantasy section.
