U.S. Air Force abandoned an experiment aimed at boosting pilot training graduation rates for women and minority pilots after the 2021 initiative failed to achieve the intended results and officers privately warned it could violate anti-discrimination policies, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
As part of the larger military-wide effort to promote diversity in the service’s pilot ranks, the 19th Air Force command near San Antonio, Texas, “clustered” racial minorities and female trainees into one class, dubbed “America’s Class,” to find out if doing so would improve the pilots’ graduation rates.

#2, that often happens when reality is ignored. Trying to make pilots of anyone due to their skin color or sex, instead of their possession of the innate abilities and capabilities necessary to succeed, is delusional and a waste of taxpayer monies.

Decades ago there were two black men in the same pilot training class as I. Both graduated on time and one was among the best in the class. About 50% of the beginning class washed out. Check out General Daniel "Chappie" James to see how things have changed and not for the better. Meritocracy has been replaced by racism.

To the extent that race and sex are used as factors in becoming a pilot, rather than pure ability to be the best possible pilot, the quality and capability of the force is degraded.
Dems and other anti-white racists do not care the slightest about the quality and capability of the US military.
They are after racist outcomes, and punitive treatment of whites, and harming the force capability is absolutely irrelevant to them.

The efficiency requirements for each job in the entire USA under this current Biden Administration is in peril!l Biden's dem pols seem to not only be purposely weakening the security & efficiency of the USA Government, he & the dem pols and RINOS seem happy with their consistent opposition to policies which would actually help THIS COUNTRY!!
Dem pols apparently have no shame and no respect for the Constitution and the oaths to support THIS country.

Went through the Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School (AOCS) in Pensacola, the same school my dad went to just after Pearl Harbor. This was pre-Top Gun and post Officer and a Gentleman. Regan was president at the time and AOCS was still run by senior enlisted Marines and a handful of experienced carrier pilots. Not even a legacy, whose dad was an active duty Admiral got to skate through. The DOR rate, or Drop on Request rate was north of 60 percent. Even though Congress had pushed for women to serve in combat roles and was hoping to develop a cadre of women pilots, the Marine instructors claimed one standard: you had to prove to them that you were fit to fly their Marines into combat and they, in turn, were backed by their Commander-in-Chief. Morale under Reagan was outstanding, especially coming on the heels of the depressing, post-Vietnam Carter years.

I went through several Air Force schools (none as a flyer) and found out a little fact they dont want you to know. When it comes to class rankings the instructors have a great deal of latitude as far as the final score. They can add or subtract points from any student's average based on who they want to get the awards. These changes are based on attitude, effort, and whatever is in vogue that day. Your test and inspection scores are just a part of the picture.

I recall a push some years ago to make more women carrier pilots. One was fast tracked in spite of getting poor scores that would have washed out a male student. She ended up hitting the back of the carrier and killing herself. If I remember correctly, her WAPO ejected at the last moment and survived. I am sure that there are very capable female pilots but overlooking problems to satisfy some diversity goal is dangerous and it sure didn’t help this poor gal.

In Chuck Yeager’s autobiography, he chronicled his experiences in pilot training in 1943. He was training to become a fighter pilot, flying Bell P-39’s. Accidents, crashes and fatalities were commonplace. Fighter aircraft have one seat; there’s only one person to blame. He expressed little regret for those who lost their lives. His thought was that if they hadn’t been killed in training, their lack of skill would have gotten them killed later; it was better to happen in training, because if it happened in combat they might have gotten someone else killed too.
We could use more Generals in the Air Force like Chuck Yeager.

I am so sick of this "Woke" stuff! (Lucianne won't let me use the right word) I'm a former USAF Pilot who was so glad to get out when they started this "Stuff" There is no way a girl can fly a four engine plane with three engine out! They are not strong enough. As a former instructor pilot who used to instruct men how to to do this I know. It takes at least a 1000 pounds of pressure to keep a 4 engine plane with three in board engines out, straight enough to land and I don't know many girls who can do this. I won't get on a commercial flight with only girl pilots. There better be a man who can fly it in an emergency.

#27 is absolutely correct on the strength needed in an emergency. I was in Base Ops when the hydraulics went out on a plane flown by two men. In the excitement, the pilot left the radio on so that the ground could hear what was going on in the air. The recon officer ( a small guy) had to climb to the front and help the pilot move the stick. We all prepared for a crash, but the two guys managed to land the plane. There was a big party that night.

The article repeatedly stated that the orders to create this cluster were verbal (good term for it, by the way). Somebody knew they were violating AF regs... my hat's off to the whistleblowers. I hope their careers survive; we need more like them, and fewer like their bosses.

Concerning male strength needed during a flight emergency, I can kinda relate. There are no military pilots in my socio-economic group but back in the day I used to drive one of the grain trucks during wheat and corn harvest and those things were absolute death traps. No power brakes and steering, the firewall was eaten out by rats years before. (That truck cab was an inferno.) You had to pump up the brakes before each use and turning the steering wheel on that monster required all the strength I had. At the end of the day I was absolutely exhausted. I finally told my hubs to find a different truck or a different driver. Women absolutely cannot compete in the strength department against men and I’m sick of our society pretending that they can.

And then there is the "social experiment" that will allow the invasion of close to one million illegals into our southern border as of May 11 without any vetting for health problems, criminality or terriorist beliefs, and the pathetic mainstream media will focus on the former Marine who protected others from a psycho on the subway train. Check out Real America Voice to see the images of those waiting to invade our country. As someone has said, we are becoming a third-world country. These social engineers need to go back to school and learn about our Constitution.

#21 I remember being in a young sailor going through firefighting training in preparation for my first ever 6-month deployment. It was at the trainer in Pearl Harbor and it was a very hot day. Short story is my fire team failed and the Senior Chief Petty Officer Damage Controlman (DCCS) called it a weapons grade cluster f---. That's what this latest stunt by the Air Force was. Luckly it to use a flight term crashed and burned.

The message this 'policy' sends is that blacks, hispanics, Native Americans, etc., are inferior are require special treatment in order to meet the performance of whites. So the Air Force is bascially discriminating against EVERYONE here. How far up the 'chain of command' does anyone think this cockamamie & utopian plan comes from? My guess is the very top.
