Yellen on Debt Ceiling: Biden Invoking
14th Amendment ‘Not Good’ But Possible
Emergency Option

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that President Joe Biden invoking the 14th Amendment to address the debt ceiling was a “not good” emergency option that could cause a “constitutional crisis.” Anchor George Stephanopoulos said, “Of course, there’s always the chance for this negotiation that you don’t reach a deal, and then it comes back to the president. He said on Friday night that he is not ready. The 14th Amendment that it should not be questioned. And the implications would be the United States would continue to issue debt, saying it is unconstitutional not to. The president says he is not ready to do that, but

There is nothing in the 14th Amendment that could be reasonably applied to this situation There is adequate revenue to honor all our actual debts; the US will receive some $5.2 Trillion. SSI will pay out $1.2 trillion, Medicare $1.3 Trillion, Interest on the debt $0.8 Trillion, Military $1 Trillion - that leaves $0.9 Trillion for discretionary spending and most of that can be put on hold. There is no obligation to pay for existing discretionary spending programs.

FTA: "Yellen said, “Our priority is to make sure that Congress does its job." Members of the Executive Branch under Biden have used this phony mantra, that they can determine the "job" of the Legislative Branch on a number of issues over the past two years. The Constitution gives the House the power of the purse, and in no way is there any inkling that any president can dictate to Congress with regard to revenue and spending. The 14th amendment cannot Trump the plain language of Articles 1 and 2 (describing the duties and authorities of the Legislative and Executive Branches) of our Constitution; however, it might take the Supreme Court weighing in to block Biden's administration from ignoring the Constitution and imposing additional debt by fiat. Every citizen of this country must be ready to actively and vigorously oppose any such attempts of the Biden democrats. By the way, the Supreme Court represents and is the pinnacle of the Judicial Branch, as it is described in the Constitution but the democrat party is not mentioned nor is it enshrined therein.

I am baffled by how they think this amendment would apply. If you think about it, they want the debt ceiling raised so they can deprive us of our hard earned money, and that would make Biden's policies unconstitutional. But then Biden has been a corrupted thief for a very long time.

ONLY Congress can spend money or incur debt, and ALL money bills absolutely must originate in the House, cannot originate in the Senate. The Executive Branch does NOT have that power to create debt, or spend money without Congressional legislation.

#1, the one and only thing they need to ensure is paid, is the interest on the debt, which is the only thing that could be "defaulted" on. All others can operate like other times based on an agreement once they've secured the taxes or debt ceiling room to allocate. Sure wish the GOP would hammer away at why they don't have the requisite debt ceiling room to pay for everything, and that's due to the reckless spending deal in the previous Congress who allocated funds irresponsibly since they didn't have the means to cover that spending. Let those Republican Senators who went along with that reckless spending deal to explain for themselves why that was a good thing.

Then why all the kabuki theater, if Biden can unilaterally borrow money on behalf of the US? Debt ceiling, bill paying, default. Three completely unrelated concepts.

14th amendment? Guessing their logic is not raising the debt limit would be racist because it would hurt minorities most. Can't have any racism! Biden's not making the decision anyway. The decision will be made by the destroyers that installed him. To them, debt and inflation are good things. It helps destroy our country. Too many dumb dishonest people seem to think we can print our way to prosperity.

New York — Donald Trump’s town hall forum on CNN on Wednesday is the first major television event of the 2024 presidential campaign — and a gigantic test for the chosen moderator, Kaitlan Collins. Both sides of the political divide expressed suspicion when the CNN forum at New Hampshire’s St. Anselm College was announced last week. Some Democrats question whether the former president should be given the airtime, while Republicans wonder if a network Trump has long disparaged can be fair. Once it begins, Collins must give audience members the chance to ask questions while determining when to step in with her own.

Last year, Archer was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for swindling the financially-strapped Oglala Sioux Indian tribe out of more than $60 million. That business deal was unrelated to the ventures Archer had with the first son. On Sunday, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine wrote that Archer was being pressed to divulge any information that he knows about the Bidens' business practices as he makes a final appeal in a Lower Manhattan courtroom Tuesday.

The proposed standards for electric motors, dishwashers, and beverage vending machines are being touted as a way to reduce carbon pollution and conserve energy and water. There was a lot of discourse around President Joe Biden turning down King Charles III’s invitation to the coronation. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and her granddaughter, Finnegan, went instead, but now, Twitter is calling foul on their less-than-ideal seating placement. Users of the social media platform are frustrated that coronation organizers wanted world leaders there, but when they got the first lady instead, they feel like King Charles didn’t treat her with the respect she deserves. What exactly does he want to finish, other than American exceptionalism as we know it? America is rapidly imploding on many fronts – financial and economic, cultural, safety, and our place in the world. Does finishing the job mean erasing every achievement of former President Donald Trump? Or is he completing former President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign promise, "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America"?
