Federal regulators are preparing to seize control of San Francisco-based First Republic Bank, according to multiple reports, as the institution appears on track for a possible collapse in one of the biggest banking busts in American history. Reuters first reported Friday afternoon that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is expected to swiftly take the bank under receivership, following a stock crash. The share price for First Republic’s stock declined some 43% on Friday alone to close at $3.51 following deep selloffs earlier this week—the stock is down around 98% from its 52-week high.

Isn’t this the bank that had Barney Frank on its board? If so, I hope Barney loses a potful of $$$$.

I don't know how many more times I have to remind you, but keep a very very very close eye on your cash and your investments because you are about to be picked rather clean of your wealth. Those of you who working people who are comfy with your 401lks, pay particular attention. First Republic is just one of many who will fail.

Among the many media gloaters over the Fox News-Dominion defamation settlement, The New York Times seems to be gloating the loudest. But this gloating strikes some history buffs as highly hypocritical. Can Cubans who – back in 1959 – went blue in the face warning the U.S. State Department and CIA that Castro was a closet-Soviet-asset and communist sue The New York Times for defaming them as crooks and liars? Surely their case (the Cuban blue-in-the-faces) has been vindicated much more starkly than Dominion’s.

House Republicans passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act – estimated to save nearly $5 trillion over the next decade – on Wednesday without any Democrat support. A huge ball of fire is raging in Crimea after a suspected Ukrainian aerial drone strike hit a major fuel depot in the heart of an annexed naval port Sevastopol today. Footage showed a fireball with huge flames and a mushroom-like black cloud from a major fire triggered by two explosions in Cossack Bay, in the Crimean Peninsula. The blasts came at 4:20am and 4:21am local time (2.20am and 2.21am UK time), and appear to be the latest attempt by Ukraine to strike at Russia's naval firepower base in the annexed peninsula.

National Public Radio, otherwise known as NPR, has faced a lot of challenges over the last several weeks, including the backlash to their false claims about transgender “women” athletes and their strength levels, Twitter CEO Elon Musk correctly labeling their account “state-affiliated media,” and the layoffs of 100 or so staffers, which led to some pretty uncomfortable woke Zoom meetings in the aftermath. But though the struggle has indeed been real for NPR, one thing that has no doubt given them comfort through all of it is knowing they have the full backing of the Biden White House which,

An estimated 600.000 patriots demonstrated in Jerusalem in favor of the conservative government Thursday as left-wing radicals were arrested for attacking economics minister Nir Barkat in Tel Aviv. Patriotic NGOs Im Tirtzu, Regavim and others had called for a “Million Man March” on the day after Israel’s 75th birthday to show support of the right-wing government’s attempts to clean up the Justice System, which has been highjacked by far-left activists. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) and state lawmakers reached an agreement to phase out natural gas hookups in new buildings beginning in 2025, a first-of-its-kind state law designed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and transition to cleaner sources of energy. Hochul said Thursday she reached a handshake deal with lawmakers on the agreement, which was included in New York’s fiscal 2024 budget. Though the budget stops short of an explicit ban on natural gas appliances, it will ban natural gas hookups in most new residential and commercial buildings under seven stories beginning in 2026. By 2029, that will extend to larger industrial and commercial properties as well.

A troubling societal issue called "transableism" is attracting attention these days. Transableism is a newer term for BIID, or "Body Integrity Identity Disorder," in which a person actually "identifies" as handicapped. BIID has been relabeled to transableism to align with today's trans community, according to some. The point of "changing the identifier" from a psychiatric condition (BIID) to an advocacy term (transableism) is to "harness the stunning cultural power of gender ideology" to the cause of allowing doctors to "treat" BIID patients by "amputating healthy limbs, snipping spinal cords or destroying eyesight," according to Evolution News and Science Today

The transgender “influencer” entered into the broader public eye after Joe Biden invited him to the White House back in 2022. Think about that. A president who hasn’t done a challenging interview since he took office found time to receive softballs from a grown man who pretends to be a prepubescent girl. But I digress. While I’m not fond of “unpack” in this usage, there’s a lot to unpack in answering the headline question. Yes, Kamala Harris is arguably the most unqualified person in history to serve as vice president. Even worse, given the reality of 80-year-old Joe Biden’s mental decline, her ill-advised selection in 2020 puts the Democrat Party in a precarious position with respect to the 2024 presidential election. As conservative columnist Kristin Tate told Fox News Digital, “Kamala Harris is one of the most unlikable and uninspiring public figures in modern political history.” The approval rating of the Cackling Queen of Word Salads™ hasn’t surpassed 40 percent since her first year in office,
