The owner of a Rivian R1S electric SUV was overjoyed to have his dream electric vehicle after waiting for years. But after owning the car for just days, it got stuck in the snow and immobilized by a safety feature, leading to a $2,100 bill to transport it to a repair facility.
Business Insider reports that a recent incident involving an owner of a Rivian R1S has forced the maker of the electric vehicles to examine its customer service more carefully and think about making changes to improve the user experience.

So this guy bought an EV truck and really expected it could work in the freezing cold? One, he didn't do his homework as to freezing temps and batter power. Two, he must be a pretty boy whose real need for a truck is to massage his 'manly' ego. And lastly, he should have remembered to never buy an early model anything. Like the foolish recipients of the mRNA vaccines (which were never before tested in humans) who now pray everyday that they aren't the next poor soul to drop dead for no good reason.

Making changes to improve the user experience would involve swapping out the electrics for a gasoline or diesel powered engine. The manufacturers should choose a state that is more EV friendly, like California, and declare a 100-year testing period.

What an idiot. EV's are for those hobbyists who want to play around with technologies.
A friend who bought a Volt told me it was for toying around with.
Another friend bought a Tesla for the same reason.
I know of no one who bought an EV because they needed transportation and an EV looked viable to them.
I heard in the news about a young lady whose father bought her an EV because she thought it would be cool but she was quickly very unhappy.

An EV is a virtue signaling monster. It relies on electricity generated elsewhere, usually by fossil fuels. It has a heavy battery, composed of toxic elements, which require the digging of over 500,000 lbs of earthe to recover enough minerals to make one battery.
And after that, you have a vehicle that is unreliable, often bursting into unquenchable flame, and subject to dying at inconvenient times and locations. And, AAA cannot bring a recharge in a 5-gallon can!

Last year, how many EV's got stranded in a snow storm on I-95 in Virginia? Those vehicles are fine as a second car for running errands around town. Not for long trips in all kinds of weather.

No common sense here:
“ Early supporters of the company have previously stated that they have lost interest, and some have made alternative plans to buy other electric cars.”
Duh! “Buy other electric cars?” What don’t these people understand? An internal combustion engine is far superior to any electric motor, except maybe for a two-seater golf cart on a beautiful day on the course.

#4 is right. All EVs are for hobbyists with a liberal education and ample income from a trust. For the rest it is - fiat justitia ruat caelum. Let the buyer beware.

Rivian is a tiny, tiny company. I have only seen one or two of these oddballs ever. Buying any EVs is stupid, but from a "nobody" company.....even stupider.
