A Russian Su-27 jet collided with a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea Tuesday, a U.S. defense official told Fox News. The jet in question was one of two Su-27's flying in tandem when the collision occurred in international airspace over international waters. The propeller to the drone was damaged and the drone landed in the Black Sea, west of Crimea, the U.S. defense official told Fox News. Intentional. Next time a Reaper flies...an F22, which won't show up on the Russkie radars, should be lurking nearby, with weapons free authority.

Guraranteed deliberate. They meant to "shoot" it down, but didn't have quite enough bravery to just come right out and shoot down a US aircraft. The fuel dumping was intended, I am certain, to try to put excess fuel down the engine inlet to damage the engine. Apparently that idea wasn't working, so they tried a more direct attack. This should cost Russia a substantial number of their drones. 10:1 sounds like a fair exchange rate. Or maybe this is a reason to give the Ukrainians those longer range precision missiles that they have been asking for and we have been denying them.

Axios parted ways with reporter Ben Montgomery after he referred to a roundtable event hosted by Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., as "propaganda." "This reporter is no longer with Axios. Out of respect for our employees, we do not discuss conditions of departure," Axios editor-in-chief Sara Kehaulani Goo told Fox News Digital. Montgomery was in the news this week after Florida Department of Education communications director Alex Lanfranconi revealed how the Tampa Bay reporter responded to an emailed press release regarding a roundtable discussion on "divisive concepts such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the impact that these concepts

After a 30-year career in education, 52-year-old Mari Stevens said she knew it was time to leave the classroom. Stevens, who last taught in the Issaquah School District, is not alone in putting in her resignation. According to an analysis of Washington state data by the Calder Center, more teachers left the classroom in the past school year than at any point in the past three decades. Washington state teacher attrition rates and teacher turnover overall, according to the analysis, are now at historic highs. The teacher attrition rate in 2022 was 8.91%

The U.K. and Germany scrambled fighter jets to intercept two Russian aircraft flying near Estonia late Tuesday. The Russian aircraft, a Russian Il-78 Midas refueling plane and an Antonov 148 military transport, approached NATO airspace without contacting Estonian authorities. The incident was the first time the U.K. and Germany have conducted a joint air intercept as part of the NATO treaty. "NATO continues to form the bedrock of our collective security," U.K. Armed Forces minister James Heappey said in a statement. "This joint UK and German deployment in the Baltics clearly demonstrates our collective resolve to challenge any potential threat

For many observers of the region, the announcement came as a surprise. After years of rivalry and tensions, Saudi Arabia and Iran apparently want to start a new phase in their relationship. The decision is one that could have both regional and international impacts because in many areas and on many fronts, the two nations are opponents and have squared off against one another, both indirectly and directly. The two countries have supported opposing parties to various conflicts: for example, in Syria during the civil war there, and to this day in the war in Yemen.

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., asked during a meeting about the bailout of Silicon Valley Bank whether social media could be censored to prevent misinformation going out that could lead to a bank run, according to reports. Michael Shellenberger, an independent journalist who reports on the Twitter files and has contributed to Fox News reported that Kelly asked the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department and Federal Deposit and Insurance Corp (FDIC) about censorship measures during the meeting on Sunday.

The latest House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing was the final straw. I can no longer be a Democrat after watching my party of three decades ignore the serious implications of vast governmental censorship and desperately, sometimes comically, try to shoot the messengers. Last week’s hearing was meant to take testimony on the implications of government censorship reported in the Twitter Files — a series of articles, released on social-media platform Twitter, outlining the “censorship-industrial complex.” But what it actually did was draw an astonishingly clear distinction between today’s Democrats and Republicans when it comes to our most fundamental and important right: freedom of speech. CORRECTION*

Less than one year after narrowly losing the Republican nomination for US Senate in Pennsylvania to celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, David McCormick is sitting in his living room pondering a provocative question: “China has a plan for global supremacy. What’s our plan?” he said to The Post. It’s a big theme in his new book, “Superpower in Peril: A Battle Plan to Renew America,” out Tuesday. It’s a deep dive into his belief that the US is in need of renewal — what needs to happen to right the ship, especially at the intersection of technology, economics and national security.

“At long last, have you left no sense of decency?” Those words were first asked by lawyer Joseph Welch in his confrontation with Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wis.) during the Senate’s infamous Army-McCarthy hearings. This week, nearly 70 years later, Welch’s words seem more relevant than ever after House Democrats savaged two journalists who attempted to explain a government effort to censor citizens. It was only the latest of a series of hearings in which FBI agents and other whistleblowers, experts and journalists have been personally attacked for raising free-speech concerns. This week’s hearing showed definitively that we live in a post-decency era.

George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley on Saturday appeared on FOX News to react to the Twitter Files hearing in the House. Turley said the hearing was like a Soviet show trial because Democrats were outraged when Republicans allowed witnesses to respond to allegations made by the Democrats. "You had Democrats who accused former members of Congress of being Putin lovers and conspiracy theorists," Turley said. "All they were doing was raising free-speech concerns but what really was shocking in the last hearing is the Democrats have now severed their connection to the free press and the values underlying the free press."

Friday’s biggest headline-grabbing news was the bust of Silicon Valley Bank following a run on its deposits. The collapse was the second-largest bank failure in the nation’s history and fears of a domino effect rattled stock markets. Seen from the long run, however, that was probably not the most important event of the day. The honor goes to the announcement that Saudi Arabia and Iran restored diplomatic relations. Given their long proxy war in Yemen and fierce sectarian hatred, the sudden agreement (right) was stunning. Even more so because China brokered it.

San Francisco residents lined up at a city board meeting last night to share their full-throated support of a wide-eyed reparations plan that would award every black resident $5million, wipe their personal debt, guarantee $97,000 incomes for 250 years and $1 homes. But no one at the emotional meeting - where residents burst into song and begged to be made 'whole' - asked how the struggling, debt-addled city might pay for it. Reparations are being considered in various Democratic cities around America as a means of providing compensation to the descendants of enslaved African-Americans.

After months of near-silence and innuendo, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis decided to speak about Ukraine, removing all doubt about his position. While his statement on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show makes a handful of valid points, it is ridden with a fundamental misunderstanding of the war and US geopolitical interests. First, the good. DeSantis is correct to criticize the Biden administration’s lack of clear objectives in its support for “as long as it takes,” which is a recipe for a long and intractable conflict — which Americans would be right to reject.

Some electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are scrapping the AM radio from their cars, claiming safety concerns. Although conservative talk radio dominates AM radio ratings, it is also considered a critical safety tool, as it is one of the primary ways that federal, state, and local officials communicate with the public during natural disasters and other emergencies. Automakers such as Ford and Tesla have ditched the AM radio from their newer EV models, arguing that the motors on EVs interfere with AM frequencies, creating buzzing and signal fading, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Amid the litany of weather reports and coverage of a U.S. drone being downed in the Black Sea after colliding with a Russian jet and recent woke banks going under, Wednesday’s CBS Mornings made it interesting when they spent a few minutes fawning over San Francisco moving closer to offering $5 million, guaranteed incomes of $97,000, and homes for the price of $1 to Black residents as reparations. This was despite the fact that, as they admitted, a Hoover Institution estimate found it could cost San Franciscans of other races (and presumably those in poverty) $600,000 in new taxes.
