Nuclear Base Focuses on Diversity, Fails

Every July, Minot Air Force Base, the only one to contain two ‘legs’ of the nuclear triad, celebrates ‘Diversity Day’. Held at the Jimmy Doolittle Center, named after the hard-charging Air Force pioneer who led the first air raid into Japan after Pearl Harbor, Diversity Day showcases “many different cultures along with other diversities such as religion and disabilities” representing the various cultures at Minot Air Force Base.” Jimmy would not approve. A culture notably absent from the Diversity Day festivities at Minot is a culture of competence. Two Air Force commanders have been fired after their units failed nuclear surety inspections.

I supported SAC (Strategic Air Command) in the early 1970s. The ever present logo was an iron fist with lightning bolts protruding and a motto “Peace is Our Profession”. While on Guam supporting missions in Vietnam some of the staff developed an underlying but real logo and motto, the logo an iron fist with a pair of severed testicles dangling below and a motto “To Err is Human, to Forgive is Not SAC Policy”. Everyone worked by both mottos. Failure was not rewarded and punished swiftly. Both were needed in this deadly serious profession. Quaint times….longing to return.

Not just the military but any entity which accepts government funding suffers this malady including our schools.Affirmative Action morphed into Diversity with Slick Willy and aGore and their "re-invention of government". I worked for a large defense contractor and witnessed the transition to wasted time, money (at taxpayer expense) and talent. I know that if the company had not had long established procedures and best practices the entire company would have collapsed. I might add that government contractors too often get blamed for "over-runs and gouging" but it usually short-sighted and incompetent government requirements (and mission changes) and oversight which are to blame.

Back in the dinosaur days the thought of getting stationed at a SAC base sent terror through us AFLC types. Just getting a transfer in FROM a SAC base meant life was going to be hell. Everything was exercised, inspected and rated. Your time off duty was for training, and the training was never ending. You were half way to a discharge just by checking into the base. Now I guess all you have to do is come to work dressed as a girl and you're good to go.

Biden's Lie of the Day 0 replies

President Biden is a pathological liar. His account of the epiphany that led him to support gay marriage is only the most recent example, though it was classic and blatant. Indeed, it was so blatant as to be laughable. I have a high level of confidence that Biden lies every time he speaks in public. Take yesterday’s Remarks on Lowering Prescription Drugs Costs in Las Vegas — please. It is difficult to choose one statement from these remarks as Biden’s lie of the day. His dad banging on the headboard of his bed when he lost his health insurance strikes me as one among many, but I can’t prove it.

The Biden administration announced late Tuesday that it would reverse a Trump-era land swap deal facilitating the construction, in an Alaska wilderness area, of a potentially life-saving road opposed by environmental groups. The Department of the Interior (DOI) withdrew the land exchange — which had been finalized by former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt in 2019 and aggressively defended in court by the Biden administration — and explained that it contained procedural flaws and wasn't consistent with agency policy. DOI Secretary Deb Haaland said the agency would initiate another environmental analysis of the proposal as part of President Biden’s conservation agenda. There are striking parallels -- and contrasts -- between Jimmy Carter’s leadership during the 1970s Oil Crisis and Joe Biden’s initiatives during the current “Climate” Crisis. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) instigated the 1973 crisis in U.S. gasoline prices that sparked inflation, and Jimmy Carter responded by supporting conservation and alternative energy plans (as well as a shift to “plentiful coal”). In contrast, Joe Biden seeded current fuel price inflation with wasteful overspending and attacks on oil production, and embraces yet more inefficient spending on renewable manufacturing projects that accelerate pollution and increase American vulnerability to China and Russia.

One need look no further than to Islam and the so-called “Left” — in this case, in the guise of the K-through-college education system — to appreciate the distinction. First, consider the Islamic institution of slave-soldiery. For many centuries in those southeastern European regions that were subjugated by Islam, especially in the Balkans, the Turks compelled Christian families to make an annual blood tribute of their own sons. The Muslims would select the strongest, healthiest, and most talented young European boys and then march them off to the Ottoman heartland. There, the youths would be forcibly converted

There are few bigger cultural issues being fought over right now than the medical transition of children under the guise of so-called “gender-affirming care.” The mainstream of the Democratic Party has now decided that chopping the breasts off young girls and chemically castrating young boys is not just a right, but a moral necessity.
