Senator Mitch McConnell suffered a concussion after he tripped and fell at a dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in downtown Washington D.C. yesterday. He's expected to remain at the hospital for a few days, his office said on Thursday.
'Leader McConnell tripped at a dinner event Wednesday evening and has been admitted to the hospital and is being treated for a concussion,' his communications director David Popp said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
'He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days of observation and treatment. The Leader is grateful to the medical professionals for their care and to his colleagues for their warm wishes.'

That's quite a fall for an 81 year old. Maybe it knocked some sense into him.

Another difference between Russia and the U.S.. In Russia he would have hit an open window.
But as poster #1 said, praying for a speedy recovery and immediate retirement.

I don't care who you are, you aren't hospitalized for "days" for a concussion. That said, I hope it's serious.

I am sorry McConnell sustained a concussion. But he should have taken a raincheck on that third highball.

Maybe he was meeting with his handlers, the ones that must be blackmailing him to walk in step with the Democrats, and they got a little rough with him.

He's trying to relate to Fetterman(?). This way no one can say anything about Fetterman because geriatric RINOs have health issues too.

I wish him well and hope he doesn't retire. The Governor of Kentucky is a demoncrap who would appoint another demoncrap as his replacement. We need all the votes we can get. Whatever you think of him he did a fabulous job of getting President Trump nominees confirmed.

When I heard about McConnell's injury, my first thought was John Lennon's "Instant Karma".
Here's the first words:
Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead

Interesting, remember when Harry Reid had a run in with an exercise machine. He had run afoul of a group and there had been speculation that they beat him up.

Kentucky law requires the Governor to appoint a temporary successor from same party as the departing senator.
He is also required to select that person from a list of three names provided by the party executive committee.

he does not deserve a recovery, speedy or otherwise. He deserves a lingering, painful demise that leaves his entire family destitute. He is a traitor and deserves a traitor's fate.

Somebody else in the media noted he had what looked like black and blue marks on his hands as well recently. After what happened to Harry Reid because he let his business with China become public knowledge, I wonder if they are getting upset with Turtle?

Lots of senators in the hospital these days, the root cause being old age. You would think they would have the sense to retire and enjoy their few remaining years.

It must have been a serious fall if he hit his head. Falls can be fatal for 81 year olds. Biden should take note.

I guess everyone here has forgotten that if not for Mitch McConnell we would have Supreme Court Justice Merrick Garland. For that alone, Mitch deserves our respect and loyalty.
