Texas’ woke capital, Austin, is in the midst of a policing crisis with over 300 vacancies and cops quitting because they feel disrespected, multiple sources tell The Post. “We’re right there with Portland and Seattle and San Francisco as being one of those places where if you’re at all conservative or in law enforcement, it’s become a hostile place,” Lt. Brian Moon, who retired last month, told The Post of the city he protected for 23 years. Another 77 officers are expected to retire before the end of March — on top of 264 existing vacancies, according to the Austin Police Association. Austin Police Department’s staffing is so bad,l

Time for governor to send in the state police. Ticket the liberals for minor infractions until they can't take it anymore. If they get nasty, cuff them and haul them in for obstruction.

One consistent truth is liberals are not fair nor tolerant, borne out in the rabid censorship that has become the new norm.

Austin is the home of University of Texas Longhorns. And some well known companies. If it is necessary the Governor will send in the Texas Rangers. Too bad the Keep Austin Wierd crowd rules the roost. Wonder how long it will be until the city named for Stephen Austin is renamed for Beto.

I live in a large county with no tax base to speak of. After hours we only have two deputies on the road; sometimes just one. I kind of like it. They are spending their time on real police calls and dont have time to hassle people for license plate lights out or windshield cracks. For serious crimes the state police will backup, although there aren't many of them either and a much larger area to patrol. Fewer cops = more freedom.

Yeah, #3. Just we wait until the once-right minded Austin, Texas is re-named Beatoville. Funny isn't it how America's university towns grow uber-lefty by the day because of the university uber-lefty faculty who effectively brainwash our young people with their propaganda.

It is too humiliating for the Austin Police not to be allowed to stop street racing, with thugs in their faces asking what they are going to do about it. No police personnel can accept that type of in their face humiliation. The entire Austin Police Dept should walk out!

My husband and I live in this cesspool of über lie-beralism called Austin. It's truly sad, because it's a beautiful part of the state -- right at the foothills of the Texas hill country. But lie-beralism has destroyed everything good about this city and area. Thank God that the state government is here, and so they keep Austin from going full-Seattle. But it's a harder and harder battle to fight. Sadly, we are stuck here two more years while my husband finishes up a contract he has with one of the high-tech companies here. Great money, but it really is hell living here if you are conservative. No representation on the city government at all. They have already offered him a lot of money to stay for 5 years past the current contract, and he politely declined. Our sanity at our ages is just worth more than all the money they can throw at us at this point!!!!

Austin has run off tons of decent folks AND young socialist liberals into outlying counties with smaller towns not just because of lack of support for Law, but also because of extremely high property taxes and rising home values due to inflation and scarcity of places to live where rent is doable and the cost of living is tolerable. That is about to change rapidly as the influx of people and the flood of ILLEGAL ALIENS and homeless living in tents begins to rival Taxifornia. There simply is a vast shortage of places to live and construction will never catch up. This is also happening in the counties surrounding Austin’s Travis County as they do not have the infrastructure needed to take on all of those who live there and commute to Austinnto work

Tucker Carlson released some of the promised Jan. 6 video footage on Monday and it dealt with a variety of subjects that he said showed that we hadn’t been told the truth about what had happened on that day. The first video and contradiction concerned the people at the Capitol. While there were people who were hooligans who broke in, the majority didn’t according to Carlson, coming in after the doors were opened and didn’t do destructive things inside the Capitol, walking peacefully like tourists through the building. Carlson pointed to the “QAnon Shaman” — Jacob Chansley, who got four years for his involvement in the events on Jan. 6.

Former Republican governor Larry Hogan announced Sunday that he won’t run for president in 2024. Hogan framed his choice as as a self-sacrificial strategy to prevent former president Trump from securing the nomination. Urging the party to break-up with MAGA, Hogan said he was removing himself from the potential competition so as to avoid vote splitting among various GOP rivals and handing Trump the plurality. “To once again be a successful governing party, we must move on from Donald Trump. There are several competent Republican leaders who have the potential to step up and lead,” Hogan wrote in a statement. “But the stakes are too high

Donald Trump was once again the keynote speaker at CPAC this year, with the conservative conference largely being tailored around him since he first entered the White House. After winning the straw poll, the former president took the stage to deliver a speech that can only be described as vintage Trump.
