A group of 16 GOP representatives is on course to derail House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's leverage in negotiations with President Joe Biden and the Democrats over the debt ceiling.
The group of 16, identified by Axios, all have never voted to raise the debt ceiling, including under former President Donald Trump, meaning they are unlikely to break their streak now.
The 16 were identified as Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Tom Emmer (R-MN), Richard Hudson (R-NC), Gary Palmer (R-AL), Jason Smith (R-MO), James Comer (R-KY), Bruce Westerman (R-AR), Ken Buck (R-CO), Warren Davidson (R-OH), Thomas Massie (R-KY), Tom McClintock (R-CA),

We're broke. The neighbor's broke. The company's broke. Our allies are broke. And yet, our government keeps spending money we don't have like a drunken stupor. All elected officials should be terminated or neutralized to relieve them from these spending addictions! We're like dummies in a car crash testing and the impact will be sudden and deadly. Pray for Divine Intervention!

Good, the never mentioned since-the-last-RINO-generation campaign funding Rally Point - ‘The Balanced Budget Amendment’.
This group GETS IT. NO NEW DEBT achieves it.
Uniparty can ONLY spend taxes and Trump Import duties on Red China and Audis and mBenzs.
Feds/Uniparty can only spend 4 TRILLION a year. Boo Hoo.

Negotiating with democrats never ends well for the American people. We are broke by democrat design. It is all part of the strategy of the democrat party and aided and abetted by globalist republicans. This bunch of crooks never even think about cutting spending and if they do it’s usually to social security or veteran’s programs. Clearly our infrastructure is failing and they cannot even see the need to fix it. Is our energy grid protected? Nah, they are too busy giving their staffs massive raises. How in the world can they justify that? Let’s get real. Washington loves throwing our tax dollars away. There is no sense of restraint or call for accountability.
Cut the budget for every agency by 10%. Audit every agency and department. Cull the herd. These agencies are bloated with deadwood. Stop building new buildings to house corrupt agencies. The government has made it clear that they will not stop spending, tighten its belt, or even allow some real audits to take place. They deserve nothing. They have earned nothing. And they certainly cannot manage anything. All they know is they have the power to spend and they will. Americans deserve better.

Mike Baker (former CIA spook) said the U.S. has committed $113,000,000,000 to Ukraine and our Western European “allies” have contributed a grand total of $15,000,000,000. It’s no wonder we’re spending ourselves into oblivion.

So if we don't increase our debt ceiling, does that mean no more money for Ukraine? /sarc

Since the roof has been blown off because of debt, there is no ceiling any more.
Insolvency is our future.

No. three hits the nail again!!
My opinion would be, or is, that the sixteen Congresspeople should tell McCarthy that if he wants to side with the Dems on this they will NEVER give him a vote again!! And again it will kill his leadership!!!

McCarthy is a bold two faced liar who is a communist death democrat in disguise. Never negotiate with an enemy who is waging total war against you and demanding unconditional surrender. The enemy in this case is the Communist Death Democrats.
By the way Mr. "the public has a right to view the January 6 tapes" McCarthy why did you only release them to Tucker Carlson and by the way Tucker Carlson since you have been ranting about the tapes being released to the public why do you not turn around now that you have the tapes and release them to all of us? Transparency is your middle name, Right?
Unfortunately the rule of thumb these days is trust no one in either the government or the media.

Good....I hope they can stop this insanity...we need a balanced budget among other things, like one subject bills (so they can't put pork into them), and a Flat Tax so smart lawyers can't get people and corporations out of paying taxes...if I gotta pay, so should they...and stop funding every American hating country and problems in the world...no one helps us when we have some sort of event, hurricane, train wreck, whatever...just STOP!!!!

This came from lefty Axios and the reporting is sloppy. Tom McClintock, R-CA, has been a reprentative since 2009. He is ultra-Conservative.
I’ll wait for a report from a legitimate source.
