US ambassador to the UN says China would
cross 'red line' by providing lethal aid

The US ambassador to the United Nations said Sunday that China would cross a "red line" if the country decided to provide lethal military aid to Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. "We welcome the Chinese announcement that they want peace because that's what we always want to pursue in situations like this. But we also have to be clear that if there are any thoughts and efforts by the Chinese and others to provide lethal support to the Russians in their brutal attack against Ukraine, that that is unacceptable," Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told CNN's Pamela Brown on "State of the Union." "That would be a red line," she said.

after his ridiculous, embarrassing, debacle in Afghanistan...he now wants to talk tough and act like a bada22 threatening to go to all out war with TWO of the earths super powers...at the same time? And expects them to take him seriously? Or be skeered? This type of weak man trying to be considered "Tough" is a dangerous thing. The bigger problem is that he is to stupid to understand that.

Once upon a time we mocked the Soviet Union for its gerontocracy. Aged party leaders, bundled up in overcoats and fur hats to the point of near-unrecognizability, would be wheeled out to sit, immobile, as parades passed or party congresses opened. Their withered, stale leadership was emblematic of the decaying USSR’s withered, stale ideology — and industrial base. But now the joke’s on us. A leading United States senator, Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), can’t seem to remember important things, like her just-taken vote on a judicial nominee and her just-announced retirement. “Did I vote for that?” she asked an aide Wednesday, moments after leaving the chamber.

President Joe Biden’s top national security aides told reporters on Monday that despite the risks it entailed, the president felt it was “really important” to make the surprise trip to Ukraine. “He was excited about making the trip. I think he felt it was really important to stand up next to President Zelenskyy and speak the way that he did today,” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on a conference call with press. “[He] felt he had an important mission to undertake, and he was eager to do it,” he added. Another aide on the call said his visit was a demonstration of Biden’s commitment to Ukraine.
