Mark Steyn reveals he had 2 heart attacks
and has recovered

Mark Steyn has been lamentably missing from his regular appearances and occasional guest hosting of Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show, having signed on for a weekday program at the UK’s GBNews. Thus, many of his American fans including me had no idea that he was on “medical leave” recently. It turns out, Mark has just revealed, that he has suffered 2 heart attacks. Looking perhaps a bit thinner than before, he returned to the air with a characteristically whimsical announcement that he is “still alive.” The two-minute video is essential viewing for all Steyn fans

I was truly disappointed when Steyn wasn't the one to pick up Rush's baton. He seemed like the natural heir, the one and only one with the level of wit, insight, brilliance, boldness, cheekiness and charm to carry forth. Much like Rush, Mark has interests that go beyond politics, and I always enjoyed his ventures into music. He would be the only one I would tune in weekdays at noon full of anticipation and joy for three hours of "excellence in broadcasting". Thank God he is recovering and may there be many years ahead for him to share with his legions of fans and admirers. We so desperately need voices and minds like his.

Wish he would get his own show on NewsMax, even if only for a half hour to start. I appreciate Tucker but absolutely cannot stand his maniacal cackling, which he does way too often. I, too,was wondering where Mark Steyn had been, and am saying prayers of thanks that he survived these heart attacks.

Steyn or Steyn and committee would be an improvement over the status quo RNC friendly Two guys and a mic on the EIB. Those guys aren't getting any better, but at least populist conservatism isn't tuning in three hours a day to challenge the beltway political class and crony capitalism of the RNC. Neither possess the requisite knowledge, wit or Charisma evidenced by people like Rush, or Steyn, or Belling ( one of the fill ins). Just guys who coulld be doing drive time chit chat and happy talk in any top thirty media market.

Best fill in host for Rush Limbaugh and Tucker Carlson. A few months ago I began listening his pod casts so knew he had had two heart attacks and had to spend Christmas in a French hospital. I always wondered why Fox never picked him up but after listening to his archived shows, which go back to the beginning of the Covid con, I think he was too hot for Fox. Off the bat he opposed the lockdowns, mocked Fauci and company and lampooned the masked authoritarians. He has been merciless on the vaccines. He refused to be silent on the 2020 steal and the corruption of the FBI and DOJ. It is no wonder that Fox didn’t want such a truth sayer in prime time. I’m glad he is out of hospital and back on the air in the UK.

#3 I so agree with you. The two guys who replaced Rush are so boring. If I am home I will go online to listen to Jimmy Failla. My brother has a radio station near Tyler that let their listeners vote and they chose Failla as the one to fill Rush's time slot. I wish I had a vote here in Baton Rouge.

Why did the FBI target traditional Catholics? 13 replies
Posted by Magnante 2/14/2023 10:38:30 AM Post Reply
Last week, Tucker Carlson had a brief segment about the leaked FBI memo recommending surveillance of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists. The contents of the memo became widely known only because of a fearless FBI whistleblower assigned to the relatively small Richmond, Va. district office. (snip) Michael Matt's media organization is the best known of the so-called traditional Catholic domestic "terrorist" groups named on the SPLC's list. And given some thought, this same domestic terrorist label could just as easily apply to any believing Christians who have rejected "wokeness" and remain pro-life and support the biblical understanding of marriage and sexuality.

You can tell that the progs who have monopolized late night comedy are scared out of their wits by the triumph of Gutfeld!, the Fox News competitor that has grabbed ratings leadership, despite a visibly smaller production budget and distribution lacking free broadcast TV stations. When it was announced that a promo video for the show would air during the Super Bowl, heads figuratively exploded. They know that exposing the show to the gigantic Super Bowl audience, many of whom had never heard of it, would inevitably drive sampling, and that some of the new viewers would stay with the show, further driving down their ratings.

A new and increasingly popular Twitter hashtag is “#diedsuddenly” in response to a surge of sudden unexplained deaths among mostly young and healthy individuals, including athletes, occurring over the past 2 years. Many years ago, during the ancient times of the early part of this century, I provided individual psychotherapy to several adolescents. Although some stood out, one in particular, a thirteen-year-old, will remain in my mind forever. Every week, dressed in her school uniform, she discussed the issues of family life. Her parents lived apart. What made this memorable was her lamenting the fact that her parents never married, sharing with me her humiliation when other children discussed their parents' anniversaries or honeymoons. The sanctity of marriage has been losing its luster since the late 1960s

In 2015 in China, an American friend “Showman” (my nickname for him, similar to his real name), a self-styled expert on Russia, was always telling us fellow expats about how Putin had done so much for Russia (snip) I first arrived in Russia in 1994. I was shocked at the filth, poverty, and violence. I immediately understood that Soviet Russia had been waging war on itself (and its neighbors) since the Revolution, while playing the victimhood card for generations, claiming their military buildup was out of fear of NATO. The Biden family (as in crime family) legal problems are beginning to converge in an interesting way. It may be the formation of a perfect political storm. Objective observers (which excludes the MSM) recognize that the Biden clan has had some shady financial dealings. With recent events, the evidence is becoming undeniable. As criminals often do, one of the co-conspirators may need to turn on the other to cover his tail. In this case, Hunter Biden may be the one protecting himself at his partner's expense — with Joe Biden being the partner left holding the bag.

After Kari Lake and Adam Laxalt, the most wimpish George Bush RINO hesitates to say "elections are fair." The former President has blasted Rihanna for the 'worst halftime show in Super Bowl history' after she already insulted 'far more than half our nation' by spray painting 'f*** Donald Trump' on a car.  Rihanna, with her baby bump beaming out of her red ensemble, stormed the stage in Arizona before the Chiefs became Super Bowl champions on Sunday night.  She gave the millions of viewers a sultry performance - however her racy dancing and risqué lyrics were perhaps too much for some family-friendly fans. Donald Trump - who has butted heads with the Barbadian singer multiple times in the past - clearly was not impressed

In the name of “equity,” the Biden administration and state Democrats have declared war on the suburbs: The Biden administration and Democrats in New York, Connecticut and other states are fighting local zoning laws in order to build high-rise apartment buildings with “affordable” units in tree-lined, single-family neighborhoods. All in the name of equity, meaning everyone can live in a tranquil suburb, whether they’ve earned the money to pay for it or not. The Biden administration announced Jan. 19 that it will require all towns across the U.S. to submit “Equity Plans” showing how they will make it possible for low-income people to live there

Kamala Harris is a living embodiment of the Peter Principle, where people keep getting promoted until they reach jobs for which they are clearly unqualified. More and more Americans think that describes our current vice president. Harris is deeply unpopular with independents, who are essential for electoral success (fewer than one in three voters view her favorably), and she is losing popularity among Democratic Party leaders. They see her ineptitude, listen to her word salads, and watch the polls with dismay. The latest evidence of Harris’ fading position is a sharply critical article in the New York Times, of all places, filled with anonymous disapproval from senior Democrats
