Dazed and abused by high taxes and rising crime, more New Yorkers fled to Florida in 2022 than any year in history, according to new data.
A staggering 64,577 Empire staters exchanged their driver’s licenses for the Sunshine State version last year, according to figures from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
“They come in every day,” a staffer at a Jacksonville DMV office told The Post this week with a weary laugh. “I hear all the complaints. I feel like a therapist sometimes.”

I agree number one. I’m starting to think these harsh Covid and other economic mandates in NY and California were to intentionally force migration to red states. Change Florida and Texas to blue by shifting the voter base. These economic migrants always bring their politics with them, we see it everyday here in Florida.

I suspect a lot of those people already lived part time in Florida. They will need to be very careful about claiming their residency. New York is going after all of their personal info they can get to see if they are truly Floridians. Maybe they can buy info from the NSA or FBI.

Shifting populations caused many S holes in the midwest. NYC should be very worried. Tourists and Wall Street won't want to be involved in asking for a no-shooting section in their favorite restaurant. BLM in front of the Trump Tower is a sign to the wise to get out now.

Let's hope they are true freedom lovers and not blind followers of the leftist cult that the Democrat party has become. I'm live in FL and are keeping my fingers crossed.

As of the last Election, Florida gained 400,000 new Residents and 300,000 of them registered as Republicans. For the first time, Republicans are in the Minority and Florida has turned Red! We Floridians were worried that the Folks from NY would bring their Politics with them, but I think they moved to get away from Democrat rule, so why would they want to turn FL Blue! From what I see, they are loving the lifestyle in the Free State of Florida!!

A staggering 64,577?
That number represents only three-tenths of one percent of the Vampire State. Which means that 99,97% of the N'Yawkiz have stayed behind. That's the really "staggering" number!

This means there's more room for Abbott to ship his 'undocumented' workers!

This mass exodus makes Florida much less appealing for this GA boy to retire to.........spend 500K on a new home only to find yourself surrounded my liberal New Yorkers? Very risky imho. I can't make myself do it. I guess I'll sit tight.

What a bummer for Florida. Of the New Yorkers that I know, the majority are far leftists, but I can think of three folks who are good conservatives who originated in the NYC/NJ big metropolis.
Best wishes for Florida. I hope that the majority who moved are the sensible, conservative ones.

Eventually, liberals tire of their fouled nest, and move to another state which they proceed to foul as well. The first wave of California migrants to Colorado were conservatives, the next waves were leftists and turned red Colorado deep blue. We're slowly getting all the same stupid laws that California has. We have abortion up to birth, "free" preschool and "free" student lunches, and a state-sponsored sick leave program that pays for up to 12 weeks of sick leave. The latest is the banning of all plastic and paper bags effective next year. This year, there's a ten cent charge for every bag. Oregon and Washington state were earlier fouled by California leftists.

Correcting myself (#7),for the first time Republicans are in the Majority!! Not Minority!
Also, #14, it depends where in Florida you want to live. Here in Central Florida you can buy a very nice Home for less than $500,000 in a nice neighborhood. The New Yorkers mostly landed in South Florida. They love Miami! So, come on down!
