Leftists, perhaps thinking their war on reliable energy is well in hand, are now making war on scientific agriculture. The war has two main elements: opposition to fertilizers, without which billions of people could not be fed, and hostility toward animal husbandry. Leftists don’t want you to eat meat.
When you tell people that liberals’ end game is for them to eat bugs, they sometimes think you can’t be serious. Those are the people who aren’t paying attention. This article in an ostensible scientific site, is typical: “Making the case for using insects as food for both humans and livestock.”

One of the major wins of the McCarthy drama that gripped Congress last week was a pledge from the new Speaker to release all of the January 6 riot footage.
Via Newsweek:
"Speaking to reporters on Thursday, McCarthy said he intends to make public the thousands of hours of footage from the insurrection—something Republicans have long called for, as part of attempts to exonerate both lawmakers and civilians accused of wrongdoing in connection to the riots.
McCarthy said that he would consider releasing all the footage as the 'public should see what happened' that day, rather than rely on the report from the House Select Committee which investigated the attack."

On Friday afternoon, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced an investigation into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, some of which were labeled top secret. Andrew McCabe, the disgraced former FBI deputy director and current CNN senior law enforcement analyst, promptly urged the Biden Justice Department to obstruct that investigation.
“Chairman Jim Jordan announced this House Judiciary Committee investigation into the DOJ actions related to the President’s handling of the classified documents today,” explained CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on Friday night. “How much does that impact the DOJ ongoing investigation?”
“I certainly would advise them — if they were willing to listen to my advice —

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt is representing the family of a 12-year-old boy who died during a police chase in Paulding County in 2021.
Le’Den Boykins died when the car he was in crashed after state troopers performed a PIT maneuver.
In September of 2021, Charlie Moore was stopped by a Georgia State Patrol trooper for allegedly speeding. Investigators said Moore had also been drinking. They also said they needed to call for backup because Moore wouldn’t cooperate. When backup arrived, a deputy eventually smashed a window after Moore didn’t show his license or open the door. Moore sped off after the window burst.

Throw up a red flag. Strategically speaking, the DNC has walloped the current RNC. Having raised a record $1.5 billion since Trump took office, how did the RNC end up so ineffective? Speaking as one who’s spent a career in the entertainment industry, it’s clear that they fell into a self-made dark abyss through poor marketing coupled with a misdirected ground plan. And they’re so far down they can’t climb out.
In contrast, the DNC has mastered the art of branding. Although their leaders are just as old as — or even older than — their GOP counterparts, they present themselves as younger and more

WASHINGTON — The nation's transportation secretary usually holds one of the most public-facing roles in any presidential administration. A core aspect of the Cabinet job is to travel the country, doling out millions of public dollars and attending ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new bridges and overpasses and ports.
Even by those standards, Pete Buttigieg has spent an inordinate amount of time in the national spotlight delivering the largesse of the big infrastructure and domestic spending bills. But at the same time, the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and onetime mayor of South Bend, Indiana, also has been the public face of a string of transportation-related crises, all amid steady speculation

As Canada prepares to expand its euthanasia law to include those with mental illness, some Canadians - including many of the country's doctors - question whether the country's assisted death programme has already moved too far, too fast.
Dr Madeline Li can recall the first patient she helped die, about one month after Canada first legalised euthanasia in 2016. "I remember just how surreal it was," she said.
A psychiatrist at Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital, she recalled checking on her patient that day, asking if she had the right music and final meal, and if she was sure she wanted to go ahead. The patient, in her mid-60s

On January 1, “60 Minutes” featured a segment with Paul Ehrlich, who predicted that earth is headed straight for extinction. For Ehrlich, 90, this is not a new theme.
“The battle to feed all of humanity is over,” was the first line of his 1968 The Population Bomb. During the 1970s, the author contended, “hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now.” By 1979, Ehrlich prophesied, the oceans would be without life and by 1999 pesticides would reduce the population of the United States to 23 million. None of that happened, and it wasn’t even close. On Frontpage Magazine,

One of the saddest aspects of the Left’s takeover of our institutions is what it has done to the scientific establishment. This is a big topic, but for now let’s stick to the Lancet, which once was one of the world’s most respected medical journals. Now, it is largely a joke, pushing hack politics–race, gender, climate change–instead of seriously advancing medical science.
This degeneration long predates covid. In 2016, I wrote about the Lancet’s editorial denunciation of Donald Trump, which read like a parody. In 2017, I noted an article by Lancet’s editor in chief, who argued that Marxism is the key to public health. And in 2018, I mocked the

"What do We mean by the Revolution? The War? That was no part of the Revolution. It was only an Effect and Consequence of it. The Revolution was in the Minds of the People, and this was effected, from 1760 to 1775, in the course of fifteen Years before a drop of blood was drawn at Lexington."
Those are the words of John Adams from a letter written to Thomas Jefferson in 1815, nearly forty years after the colonies declared their independence. Having had more than enough time to grapple with the world-shifting events the two revolutionaries helped set in motion and looking back from the

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed the National Hockey League (NHL) in a statement Friday afternoon after the league posted what the state deemed to be a “discriminatory” job posting.
“The NHL is proud to announce its first-ever Pathway to Hockey Summit launching during our 2023 All Star festivities in South Florida!” the NHL said in the job posting on LinkedIn. “The Pathway to Hockey Summit is a career event for diverse job seekers who are pursuing careers in hockey. The day will be filled with guest speakers and panelists, networking opportunities, and more!”
The event takes place on February 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the deadline to register
