GOP leader Kevin McCarthy confronted Representative Matt Gaetz (R., Fla.) on the House floor on Friday evening after the California Republican lost his 14th bid for speaker.
Gaetz voted “present,” leaving McCarthy just one vote away from a win.
McCarthy could be seen making an animated last-minute appeal to Gaetz as the votes were tallied. Gaetz could been seen pointing a finger at McCarthy. After McCarthy walked away, Representative Mike Rogers of Alabama began to approach Gaetz. He was held back by fellow lawmakers. A human smuggler allegedly shot an El Paso Sector Border Patrol agent during a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon. The agent sustained multiple handgun rounds to the chest and managed to return fire, striking the suspect.
During a traffic stop on a suspected human smuggling vehicle on New Mexico Highway 146, the alleged human smuggler opened fire on a Lordsburg Station agent, according to a statement obtained from El Paso Sector Border Patrol officials. President Biden let it be known first thing yesterday morning that he would visit El Paso this coming Sunday. The visit is notable for two reasons. First, it’s a rare weekend when Biden will not be on vacation. He has spent 40 percent of his term in office so far on vacation. At age 80, the guy needs his r & r.
Second, for “El Paso” read “the border.” For the first time in his political life Biden will visit the border. This can mean only one thing. Biden is preparing to announce his candidacy for a second term in office.

Three times since 2011, the magazine has been targeted by terrorist attacks for its wildly disrespectful portrayal of Mohammed and Islam. There have been some positive aspects of this fight over the Speaker of the House.
It’s shown us who is willing to fight for rules that are more favorable for the members to fight for their constituents as opposed to just shoving bills through without any thought or discussion. We’ve seen Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) hold that banner high, as well as some of the other 20 who are fighting for that cause. That’s an important thing to fight for, to bring some sanity back to the decision-making.
Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) laid it out and it’s disturbing how little discussion and input from the individual members there are.
J.K. Rowling can’t lose. Despite attempts by the transgender mob to cancel, break, and destroy the “Harry Potter” author, Rowling seems to best them at every turn and most of the time it’s by sitting back and doing nothing.

An Arkansas court could force Hunter Biden to reveal the anonymous buyers of his artwork, according to court documents.
Hunter has been working with a well-connected Chinese art dealer, Georges Bergès, to sell paintings to anonymous buyers for up to $500,000. Hunter has reportedly sold at least five pieces of art for $75,000 each. One of his reported paintings hangs in first lady Jill Biden’s White House office.

When the House Jan. 6 committee released hundreds of documents from its investigation online at the end of the year, it inadvertently made public nearly 2,000 Social Security numbers belonging to high profile individuals who visited the White House in December 2020, according to a report.
The Washington Post reported Friday that the leaked Social Security information was included in a spreadsheet buried within the "massive cache" of records from the committee's work. Social Security numbers belonging to at least three members of Trump's cabinet, a few Republican governors, and several Trump associates were reportedly compromised. The data was part of the White House visitor logs published by the committee.

We have a close family friend who voted for Joe Biden. Yup, she’s really a friend -- proving that us semi-fascist conservatives are more tolerant than members of the coexist party. We’ll call her Pat. She voted for gropey Joe even though she disagrees with almost all the radicalism that he and the Democrats are pushing. Her reasoning is quite simple. She refused to vote for Donald Trump because he is too personally offensive to her.

Florida Rep.-elect Matt Gaetz said he would resign from Congress should moderate Democrats strike a deal with Republicans to elect a "moderate" House speaker. Appearing on "The Ingraham Angle," the Republican said Thursday night that he was sure that would not happen.
