Former president Donald Trump wasted no time to celebrate after being informed the January 6th’s committee has withdrawn his subpoena to testify as the investigation begins to wind down.
The panel's chairman, Missouri Democrat Bennie Thompson, informed Trump's lawyers that the former president will no longer be ‘obligated to comply or produce records’ that were originally requested.
'In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena,' it read.
The letter, which was screenshotted and posted by Trump’s lawyer, went on to 'formally withdraw' the subpoena,

Just imagine Trump walking in and "testifying" on live TV. They couldn't have that.

I wouldn't be gloating. The committee ends in 5 days. And that's only if they worked through New Year.

Call me crazy, but I would kinda like to see the January 6 committee continue investigating, and not in the political witch-hunt manner it has previously been conducted. There are many questions to be addressed and answered.
For one thing I think we’re entitled to know who let the doors to the Capitol building be open.
Another thing…the case of Ashlee Babbitt.
Yes we all have a very good idea who that so is. I’d just like to get this and many other actions and activities that went on that day, on the record.
If that’s not the case, then disband and defund it.

I suspect The President would have torn up that subpoena just like crazy Nancy tore up the hard copy of his SOTU speech.

The arrogance of the media knows no limits. "Gloating"? No. Celebrating a small win in the War on totalitarians.

It’s the Daily Mail. How else would you expect them to react?

That created witch hunt/fishing expedition NEVER HAD ANYTHING except false charges, innuendo, and willing cooperation in the Deep State of political appointees who HATED Trump-- they rode on that horse of deception hoping that they could bluff and intimidate the President into falling on his own sword from threats without facts behind them.
With the Twitter revelations now exposed, and the 'mea culpas" going on to protect the guilty of slander who may get a come to Jesus meeting with Republicans narrowly in charge of the House Oversight Committee who knows what we might see.
In a proper Constitutionally mandated world, the House would be the ones who create tax bills and NOT the Senate like they did with this last $1.7 TRILLION spending spree and NoBama Care back in 2010. We have allowed the perverted use of subpoena power under the demonrat socialist Marxists in charge.
The current Vegetable residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave has been turned into a puppet tyrant/dictator with his prouncements of giving away our tax dollars to pet projects like Ukraine to launder money, and to allow for the INVASION at the border in violation of protecting YOUR safety--
The Judiciary has no separation of powers because it is politically motivated.
The average citizen has almost no Bill of Rights protection anymore-- They have now ruined the 4th Amendment protections-- the masses don't even know its going on, much less to realize that federal judges are blocking laws and making favorable ruilings to the wacko libs......
Pray that we stay on course in 2023 and that we don't go Uniparty-- The mask is OFF the Rinos now-- that political cartoon on the mast head couldm't be more right!!!

Congress should have no judicial powers. They are out of control.

To add, after an online search (first three pages were all liberal sources, even on DuckGo) it seems Congress' power to issue subpoenas is IMPLIED, not explicit in the Constitution. More of the legal gray area that lawyers love.

They've known from day 1 that he did nothing wrong.
Nothing they've done has been to show his wrongdoings, but to cover up their own.

I would wager that Ninny, Bennie, Lizzy and Adam are crying real tears at this point. To have wasted a year's worth of time of people being paid $174K (and soon to get a raise) and accomplishing absolutely nothing must be heartbreaking. Surely somebody out there has a childhood memory of Donald Trump stealing some little girl's ice cream. Anybody?
