Paul Ryan was a drag on the Republican Party. Ryan lied to Republican voters repeatedly and refused to fund the Trump border wall when he had the chance.(Photo) Paul Ryan repeatedly promised to fund the Trump Border Wall. But at every opportunity he denied the Republican President funds for his border wall. It was not until President Trump threatened to shut down the government that Speaker Paul Ryan FINALLY pushed legislation that included ONLY $5 BILLION to fund the border wall.

This is like the GOP 1976. Reagan came thisclose to winning at the convention and the country club establishment was apoplectic that he would become the standard bearer and popular candidate over the next in line Rockefeller republican George HW Bush. Trump delivered what the GOP didn't want delivered to people the GOPesbalishment, now apparently headed by Ryan, didn't want to have it, a booming economy not regulated by the federal government, not benefitting the politcal and donor classes, but wage earners, minorities and others to whom Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney never felt it necessary to answer to. They have learned nothing. Assuming arguendo that the establishment is able to block Trump-- and in so doing, silence his supporters----- how many of the mighty 81 million do they think will happily support their choice, beit DeSantis, Ryan, Rubio or some combination of Bush and Cheney leftovers?

You are wrong, Ryan. Now that abortion is out of the federal races, I would in principle be willing to look at the Democrats. Oh yes I would. But Trump does effective things for the parts of America that are having a hard time. I don't care about anybody else's metrics, I have my own, and he is the helpful one. I don't care if he screams at powerful people. He is helpful and gentle to the weak ones, he brings real help.

Rep. Jamie Raskin discusses the "political contamination of the GOP by Donald Trump" and warns that a Republican majority could make the former president the Speaker of the House. The advent of alternative media has created a whole new world when it comes to disseminating information. But not everyone is happy about this – particularly members of the activist media. Elon Musk ruffled more than a few feathers when he took over social media company Twitter. But when he tweeted about his vision of making the platform friendlier towards average citizens participating in journalism, at least some members of the once-vaunted fourth estate took umbrage. On Friday, Musk tweeted: As Twitter pursues the goal of elevating citizen journalism, media elite will try everything to stop that from happening.

With the ruling D.C. establishment having successfully beaten back the midterm election challenges to their unchecked power by congressional candidates who were supported by former President Donald J. Trump, the job now turns to snuffing out the MAGA movement and, in the eyes of many, two former leaders with much in common will be spearheading the effort. Two of Trump’s fellow White House alumni Barack Obama and George W. Bush will be holding back-to-back “democracy” conferences following the expected announcement that he will be officially declaring a 2024 presidential run, something that the corrupt uniparty appears to be determined to prevent at all costs.

That clearly caught some people by surprise, though not everyone. Sears wasn’t alone, however. Another fervent Trump supporter has appeared to similarly throw in the towel. Former President Donald Trump has superpowers. That much was established when he first stepped onto the political scene in 2015 and demonstrated his uncanny ability to transform folks on the left into crazed caricatures of themselves just by giving an utterance. It seemed that anytime he so much as sneezed, it immediately caused those who are left of center to have a collective meltdown. But now, he has revealed another superhuman talent: The ability to turn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis into a Romneyesque neocon just by saying unkind words about him. That’s right. PHILADELPHIA—Call it “the White Wave.” A flood of white envelopes containing mail-in ballots lofted Democrat candidates to victories in several key Nov. 8 races. Case in point: Democrat John Fetterman will occupy Pennsylvania’s coveted U.S. Senate seat instead of Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz. In that race—and several others—mail-in ballots acted as a breaker against the “Red Wave” of wins that Republican leaders had hoped would wash across the nation at a time when Congress and the White House are both Democrat-controlled.

Nevada was one of Republicans' top targets as they tried to break the Senate's 50-50 split, and Cortez Masto's reelection was a toss-up coming into the election.
