This year, Hollywood and the news media took a knee for Sacheen Littlefeather.
Woke news outlets including NPR, the New York Times, and Variety ran glowing articles identifying her as a Native American who was unjustly ridiculed and shunned by the industry when she infamously rejected Marlon Brando’s Oscar for The Godfather in 1973. It culminated in August when the Academy publicly apologized to her. There was just one problem. According to her biological sisters, Sacheen Littlefeather, who died earlier this month at 75, wasn’t Native American. Her family has no Indian ancestry they could find. Nor did she grow up with a violent and abusive father

Elizabeth Warren call your office.
Maybe I should become Chief Little Safariman. Seems to be a lot of advantages to posing as indigenous

How hard would it have been to confirm her identity before repeating her self-serving, made up narrative? The MSM and Hollywood let all of us down when they rush to report claims that paint the US and ordinary Americans as deeply flawed when compared to other nations and cultures. There is no excuse for the sloppy reporting here, that could have and should have been corrected decades ago.

But she was so sincere!
The dominant Western TV series, from 1955 to 1975 or thereabouts, was Gunsmoke, starring James Arness as Matt Dillon, Marshal in Dodge city, Kansas, set in the 1870s.. About 1/3 of the episodes dealt with Indians, and while the townspeople were often against the redskins, Matt Dillon was always respectful of the Indian traditions, spoke their language(s) protected them when he could.Burt Reynolds was cast as a halfbreed Commanche, Quint Esper, a killer of Whites, and was protected by Matt Dillon - mentored, in a way,.
It would have been nice if the fake Indian had at least given a shoutout to Gunsmoke for their fair treatment of Indians.
As an aside, I get a big kick out of seeing reruns, with future stars playing interesting roles on Gunsmoke. They pop up in various episodes. Carroll O'Connor, Leonard Nimoy, Edward Asner, George Kennedy, Goober are just a few. And how great was it to see Miss Kitty shoot and kill Bette Davis!

I think we all need to give a great big apology to Rachel What's-her-name because society wouldn't let her be who she was meant to be. To be singled out for ridicule with so many others escaping even the slightest inspection is unconscionable.

Well that explains it's obsession with places with names including the word "squaw" in them. It always wanted to be a squaw.

Yep. Another 'Lie-a-watha' harpy; fake as a cigar store Indian. BTW, it had been known for decades that Marie Louise Cruz (a.k.a. 'Sachem Littlefeather') was a phony even after her stunt at the 1973 Oscars. This article is revealing in that the root of her nihilism appears to be daddy issues.
BTW, the 'noble savage' is a complete lie of the left meant to trigger white liberal guilt. Just like 'Sachem Littlefeather', the concept is a complete fabrication.
The original slogan, "Better dead than red" is grounded in the bloody history of all so-called 'Native Americans'. They caused massive damage to their own environments, practiced slavery, and their conduct against their fellow man, both inter-tribal and against European settlers, during war was brutal, unforgiving, and despicable, even by Western standards.

A lie-beral lied?!?!? How is this even news today?!?!?
That is what lie-berals do -- they lie. Constantly. I don't think they even know how to tell the truth anymore.
Now if you can find a lie-beral telling the truth -- that is news!!!!!!!

Yeah but did you see her nudes? What a stunner! She can call herself a '57 Chevy for all I care. If that kind of beauty existed today they would ruin it with pink hair, tattoos, weird piercings and other ugly modifications.
I think we have more current scandals to be outraged about.

#19. Yes I saw them. Enjoyed many of Brando's movies. But the only thing I am indebted to him for is turning over picking up his Oscar to Ms. Feather. Playboy got ahold of some old photos she had posed for and published them. She appeared to be a very healthy woman. #4. One of my favorite episodes of Gunsmoke had Angie Dickinson playing an Injun sqaw who was married to a prairie type. The plot was the hotel didn't want Injuns staying there. If I owned a hotel in Dodge City I would have had a rule that any woman who looks like Angie Dickinson can stay free of charge.
