Elon Musk could be set to slash Twitter’s headcount drastically once his $44 billion deal for the social network goes through. The mega-billionaire has told potential investors in the Twitter deal that he plans to lay off almost 75% the company’s staff, or about 5,500 employees, to reduce the size of its workforce from 7,500 to just over 2,000, the Washington Post reported, citing anonymous sources and documents. Reps for Twitter and Musk did not respond to requests for comment. On Tesla’s third-quarter 2022 earnings call Wednesday, Musk said he was paying too much for Twitter. Earlier this month he agreed to go forward with his original $54.20/share offer

Will be interesting to see if they received any government funding from CIA or FBI to manufacture disinformation to influence public opinion. During WWII there was a Office of War Information whose job was to keep public interest high and favorable on supporting the war effort. They made movies for theaters, radio promos, posters etc. Twitter may be the modern day equivalent but run by the Deep State.

Maybe those Twits can find work in the New England clothes factories. Or, maybe they can find work in the Carolina furniture factories. Or, maybe they can find good middle class jobs in the Ohio Valley steel mills. No, wait those jobs were outsourced, for Elites Golden Cashouts. Guess they'll have to work in retail. Maybe Sears, or KMart, Barnes and Noble, or Belk? Nope! those jobs are not long for this world either. That's what happens when you destroy a country for profit. Guess they could learn to code... Isn't that just God's own irony? Guess they'll just have to sling fentanyl to their kids for hamburger money. Time for the woke to wake up...

I think once we get past the midterms, there’s likely to be a countdown to when the Democrats finally start being honest about Joe Biden to sweep him to the side because of his issues. Of course, their bigger problem is that they don’t have good replacements for him. His second, Kamala Harris, has her own issues stringing together coherent sentences and doing anything that isn’t a failure. She’s also as unpopular as Joe Biden. So it doesn’t help them much. All the other possibilities, like Gavin Newsom or Pete Buttigieg, are second or third-string at best. But whoever is looking better get on it, because it’s clear

Ron DeSantis and Charlie Crist faced off on Monday evening in the first and only gubernatorial debate of the cycle. With just two weeks remaining for election day, it was the final chance for Crist to showcase his candidacy in the face of the incumbent governor’s bully pulpit. How did it go for the Democrat? People will have to make up their own minds on that, but for my money, the beatdown by DeSantis was so thorough that I almost don’t even know where to begin. There are so many clips of him decimating Crist that I could easily cover a dozen different ones and still have

The White House delivered a statement to Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich on Monday asserting that President Biden had been referring to the Inflation Reduction Act when he claimed during a recent interview that student-loan forgiveness had “passed” Congress by a “vote or two.” “The President was referring to the Inflation Reduction Act, which reduced the deficit by hundreds of millions of dollars, creating room for other crucial programs. As you know, no Republicans voted for the Inflation Reduction Act in the House or the Senate, where it passed by a single tie-breaking vote by Vice President Harris,” read the statement.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s restructuring costs are beginning to take shape. On Monday the company said in a securities filing that it expects to take $3.2 billion to $4.3 billion in pre-tax restructuring charges tied to its WarnerMedia acquisition, including writedowns related to content of between $2 billion to $2.5 billion. WBD has been engaged in what it has called a “global strategic review of content” since the WarnerMedia deal closed, canceling projects, nixing development and shelving unproductive library content. In its first quarter after the deal closed, it disclosed an $825 million writedown on content, and a substantially similar number is expected in in its Q3 report.
Two major Texas newspapers produce two

Two major Texas newspapers tell contrasting stories in their endorsements for the gubernatorial race. Republican incumbent Governor Greg Abbott is running for re-election. His Democrat challenger is Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke. The Dallas Morning News (DMN) endorsed Governor Abbott. The Houston Chronicle endorsed O’Rourke. Go figure. Both Dallas and Houston are Democrat-led big cities. Houston is traditionally a bit more liberal than Dallas, but in these endorsements, you’d think that Dallas is a conservative city. It is not, by the way, so keep that in mind. The Houston Chronicle endorses Democrats over Republicans on a regular basis. So, when a conservative garners its endorsement, it is worth noting.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Monday temporarily blocked a subpoena demanding testimony from South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham from a Georgia grand jury investigating election interference by former President Donald Trump. The hold on the subpoena came three days after Graham's attorneys asked Thomas to delay the senator's appearance before the grand jury, which is investigating possible criminal interference in Georgia's presidential election in 2020. On Thursday, a panel of judges on the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals unanimously rejected a request by Graham to temporarily block the subpoena, which calls for the senator to testify on Nov. 17
