Gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson's CEO Mark Smith has sparked a heated back and forth with lawmakers after refusing to testify at a House Oversight committee hearing on assault weapons.
Smith said in a statement Monday that his company would 'never back down in our defense of the Second Amendment' and blamed politicians and the media for a recent spate in mass shootings.
'Some have had the audacity to suggest that after they have vilified, undermined and defunded law enforcement for years, supported prosecutors who refuse to hold criminals accountable for their actions

One of the ways to not lose in the rigged game gun-grabbers insist we play - is to refuse to play.
"Pound sand" is a nicer way of saying, "go f**k yourselves". But I'm not picky.
Either would do nicely.

Good for him. Once he goes political, they will bleed him dry of as much money as they can. Don't testify.

EVERY police response to EVERY single one of the shootings was by cops carrying those SAME rifles...
If it was the rifle that was the danger, causing the deaths, thousands should be dead because 100+ cops all showed up with them...instead they were there to stop "A Crazy Person", and millions of $$$s of study money, countless hours, weeks, years of testing clearly showed that THOSE PARTICULAR platforms were the best way to Stop a Crazy Person trying to slaughter people.

Not just defunding police. How about letting murderers walk free and without bail a couple of hours after committing crimes?

Tenty some odd years ago I was ashamed to own S&W guns, when they sold out to the Klintons. I did not take them to the range or carry them in the woods. Now I am again proud.

When will they want to sue knife companies, or the maker of Louisville Slugger baseball bats?

No possible upside for S&W to appear before this group of liars and grandstanders. Good choice.

It looks like the CEO has more important things to do ... such as reading the newpapers of 1948.

DC politicians are dumb and dumber. They are totally unaware that guns are not animate objects. Guns don't operate on their own, its not Black Mirror time, yet. Humans operate guns. Humans cause the gun violence. Law abiding humans don't commit gun violence. Go after the law breakers DC, leave the rest of us alone.

Don't see any point going to a party thrown by people who hate you. You'll just be the entertainment.
Democrats have become nasty, vicious children.

No. 12, DC politicians Are dumb... Dumb enough to believe we'll fall for their lies. They know very well that guns aren't animate. They are 'teeth'. Just like coyote's may circle a rattlesnake, hoping to flank it and make a meal of it, Democrats make excuses to distract us from their real purpose - which is making a meal out of us.

These politicians are not stupidly misunderstanding gun control.
Their obvious goal is to disarm America so that Democrats have total government control.
The 2nd Amendment guarantees that citizens have the means to put down the oppressive government Democrats want to create here.
Good for S&W.

The 87,000 armed IRS agents who express their agreement to using deadly force against Americans is the best argument to retain the Second Amendment.
