Democrats appeared to mourn the projected loss of Never Trump Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to the Donald Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman. The Cook Political Report and Decision Desk HQ found that Hageman will unseat Cheney in the battle for Wyoming’s at-large congressional district. Many Democrats did not take the news well. Jon Cooper, a former finance chair for the Draft Biden 2016 campaign, wrote, “The GOP is going to pay at the polls for what they’ve done to Liz Cheney:” (Tweet)

On Tuesday, the Virginia Department of Education quickly issued a correction after reports began circulating that the agency was planning on removing language that identified George Washington as the “Father of Our Country,” and James Madison as the “Father of the Constitution.” According to the report from Just the News, the situation started after Virginia/Washington ABC affiliate WJLA put out a report that said the agency had decided to put forth a proposal that would make “changes to Virginia’s history and social science standards of learning tests [that] would eliminate calling George Washington the ‘Father of our Country’ and James Madison the ‘Father of the Constitution.’ ”

U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) loss in Tuesday’s primary was seen as a foregone conclusion by many as her efforts in the sham Jan. 6 committee did not represent the will of her constituents. However, there was nothing but praise from progressives who despise actual representative government as their tributes and her own concession speech showed the congresswoman’s actions were only ever about her own promotion. Primary voters in Wyoming made their voices heard Tuesday and, with a spread of more than 30 percentage points, chose Harriet Hageman to be the Republican nominee for the House over incumbent Cheney.
