You’ve probably heard something by now about the horde of Californians who’ve been leaving the state and moving to states like Idaho, Oregon and especially Texas. Because of the high property values in California, these people often move into the nicest neighborhoods in their new city or town of choice. And because there are so many of these transplants they often drive up the local property values. That’s not always appreciated by the locals.
Today the LA Times reports there’s a similar problem in Mexico City where Americans, many of them from California, are fleeing not just their state but their country in order to take advantage of the much lower

They ruined New Mexico the same way twenty years ago. They showed up in their spray on bicycle shorts, sunglasses, and George Carlin bald headed pony tails, all set to show us rubes how things should be done. They raised property costs to where locals couldn't afford a decent house anymore, and infected local government trying to make the place what they just fled.
Now that I'm in the east, New Yorkers are doing it here. Just go away. Take your mugger accent and your voting patterns with you.

Move to Mexico City at your own risks, gringoes. I wouldn’t assume to have the protection of the law if I were in your place. Going where you’re surrounded by millions of Spanish speakers is not the wisest move in my book.

Reply to #1. They're doing the same thing in ID, MT and WY. Looks like they 're trading one third world $#@!hole for another. Gas is cheaper though.

When a chainsaw starts up, they won't know if it's to clean brush or take care of an errant cartel member.

Mexicans are complaining about Americans "colonizing" Mexico? That's a hoot. At least they are pouring cash into their economy. They haven't noticed that their poor are flooding our country?

#10 says it all. Mexicans are pouring into the USA and most need benefits. and a heck of a lot more than the number of Americans heading South.

But can you imagine the outrage if any neighborhood in America posted signs in Spanish (for those illegal aliens who can read Spanish since most are illiterate in their native tongue which isn't always Spanish but some Aztec dialect) about go home? Americans are always being racist, etc. by the real racists in this world.

Right, John, and those “hordes” who are gentrifying (already quite gentrified) Mexico City (those penthouses mentioned in the article would not be in the slums) are commuting daily to their jobs in the United States. /s
This fake news, that originated with the L.A. Times, would only be republished by another junk site like Hot Air.
In my lifetime, this native Californian has known exactly two Americans who moved to Mexico. One married a wealthy Mexican 60 years ago and another was a professor/psychologist who moved to San Miguel de Allende about the same time.
Mexico City is a dangerous place.
As I said, fake news.

#1, this article is describing EXACTLY what's been happening in Florida to a tee: outlanders coming in and driving up housing costs, pricing locals and natives out of their own towns (and, in some cases, states). Not to mention that some of these carpetbaggers have zero respect for the local customs and/or politics, running roughshod over everything with an annoying arrogance. Go ahead, ask a Florida local or native what he REALLY thinks about some of his transplant neighbors...

We in eastern Washington State not only have to put up with Californian libtards, but western Washington have brought their politics and high cost of housing to eastern Washington too. I hate them. If they just moved to the area and left their leftist ideas behind, it would be ok, but of course they can't do that because as they say, You Can't Fix Stupid.
