Former President Donald Trump is not likely to go to prison. Nor is he likely to be prosecuted for the events surrounding Jan. 6, 2021.
Confident claims to the contrary are the product of Twitter resistance fever swamp fantasies. Those offering such arguments either don’t understand the optics of former Supreme Court nominee-turned-Attorney General Merrick Garland indicting a former president who prevented him from sitting on the highest court.
Perhaps Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has given the game away by unequivocally stating that she is doing everything in her power to keep Trump away from another Oval Office stint. Whether you agree with Cheney's tactics or strategy is beside the point.

Former President Donald Trump has asked a federal court to rule that he has absolute immunity from civil suits related to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.
In a brief filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Wednesday, Trump's lawyers asked the court to reverse Judge Amit Mehta's February ruling that denied a motion to dismiss lawsuits related to the Capitol riot. They said in the brief that Trump's speech at a "Stop the Steal" rally on Jan. 6 falls within the scope of speech protected by presidential absolute immunity. The former president is facing several lawsuits filed by congressional lawmakers and

WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE! Well, not today, maybe not tomorrow, but from what you read and see lately, one would assume that we, and the rest of the planet, are on life support. All life on earth. Maybe even cockroaches. Keep reading.
Nearly all media cooperate in disseminating climate change fear-porn. When hot months come because the northern hemisphere is closer to the sun, temperatures go up. Changes in temperatures are reported in media with alarm and always denoted on graphics in blood red.
A few days ago, I saw this graphic of July temperatures in Europe. The split screen shows different colors, although the temperatures are just about the same.

The Pelosis have done very well playing the market and Americans for fools.

Defeating Wokeism isn’t merely a political, legal, or even cultural battle. We must also address what ultimately fuels Wokeness on a personal level: a delusional sense of moral superiority because it’s that moral superiority that is the vehicle for the left’s real power grab.
Are the Woke, in fact, morally superior? If you ask them, they certainly are. Their thinking seems to run something like this:
The world consists of people with different skin colors, genders, sexual orientations, etc. We are tolerant. The un-Woke aren’t. Therefore, we are morally superior.

Dozens of former Republican and Democrat officials have teamed up with Andrew Yang to join a third party, the Forward Party, which will launch on Thursday, according to a Reuters report.
The Forward Party announcement comes nearly one year after Yang announced his departure from the Democrat Party to develop a third party. Yang rose to prominence with his failed 2020 presidential run as a Democrat, where he promoted Universal Basic Income.
The Forward Party will be co-chaired by Yang and former Republican New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman.
The new party is an amalgamation of three political groups that find themselves disgruntled with America’s increasingly polarized political system.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas stepped down from his job as a law lecturer at George Washington University's as controversy over the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade rumbles on.
Thomas has been a lecturer at the school since 2011, but has now been removed as faculty from its website. His decision not to return to teaching comes in the wake of protests against conservative supreme court judges following the overturning of Roe v Wade in June 2022.
The school was hit by a petition calling for the removal of Thomas, with more than 11,000 signatories. But George Washington University is home to just 1,600 students, and bosses there defended Thomas,

Dozens of Republicans are sounding the alarm on President Joe Biden’s mental capabilities, stressing that he is not fit to run the country.
Led by Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), more than 50 GOP members wrote a letter to Biden urging him to take a cognitive test.
“We again write to you to express concern with your current cognitive state and to urge you to submit to a cognitive test immediately. We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the example set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” the letter reads.

President Joe Biden said he was feeling great and had got through COVID with only mild discomfort, he said Wednesday morning, but he suggested Americans should wear masks indoors as the nation grapples with the latest infectious variant.
And he paid tribute to vaccinations, which he said allowed him to stay in the White House in contrast to President Donald Trump who had to be airlifted to hospital.
'Here's the bottom line: When my predecessor got COVID he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center,' said Biden, 79.
'He was severely ill. Thankfully he recovered.
'I got COVID, I worked from upstairs of the White House ....

A Republican who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump is ripping into Democrats for propping up his MAGA primary rival.
'I'm sick and tired of hearing the sanctimonious bulls**t about the Democrats being the pro-democracy party,' GOP Rep. Peter Meijer told Politico.
The site reported Wednesday on growing discontent among the Democratic ranks over the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's decision to meddle in the Republican primaries - boosting MAGA, election-denying candidates over GOP moderates.
