The power of the administrative state to destroy liberty and property – to blast through legislation, science, and judicial oversight – was never more on display than in the last two and a half years. One would hope that the deep bureaucracies would have learned their lessons on how not to respond to a new pathogen. There is no evidence they have.
Regardless, the real problem is much deeper. It has to do with the status of the administrative state as the effective governing apparatus of the US. It’s not Congress and not the President. It’s the vast and permanent bureaucracy of 432 agencies and 2.9M bureaucrats who are unreachable

Furious Dutch farmers brought cows to The Hague and threatened to slaughter the animals on Tuesday in protest of the Netherlands' $26 billion climate plan that could reduce the livestock population by 30%.
The Netherlands, one of Europe's top greenhouse gas emitters, is planning on halving its nitrogen output by 2030, Bloomberg reported. The government plan would shutter some farms, as much of the nitrogen is blamed on manure and fertilizer from cattle.
The output goal is in compliance with European Union rules to reduce pollution. The Netherlands is the world's second-largest agricultural exporter, per AFP, and some regions of the country will need to cut as much as 95%

I have written extensively on inverted totalitarianism, that being the once nascent, now entrenched form of government that truly controls the levers of federal power in the United States. This behemoth has turned the USA into a “managed democracy”; a bureaucracy which cannot be held accountable by the elected representatives of the people.

The Brownstone Institute’s Jeffery Tucker recently wrote an article about an executive order passed by Trump shortly before his departure, which would have enabled huge progress towards reigning in the power of the administrative state. The executive order would have allowed agencies to reclassify policy jobs under a new schedule,

Ranking Senate Judiciary Committee member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) slammed the Department of Justice on Monday for "repeated failure to prosecute employees" who were caught lying during internal investigations.
"An unsettling pattern has emerged from the Department of Justice (DOJ) whereby criminal referrals by the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General (OIG), against DOJ employees for making materially false statements are rarely prosecuted," Grassley wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Grassley said the "most shocking example of this pattern" occurred last month after the DOJ declined to bring charges against the former FBI agents who botched the investigation of Dr. Larry Nassar,

The way Ginni Thomas recalled it, she and her husband, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, were driving through upstate New York, by Lake George, when the red check engine light flickered on the dash of their 40-foot 1992 Prevost Marathon conversion coach. (Snip)
In the book of interviews, Thomas said he never traveled much as a poor child in Georgia. Then, over 20 years ago, a friend encouraged him to see the country by mobile home, and he’s never looked back.
Now more than ever, a month on the road looks to be a good thing for the judge and his wife.

It has long been a dictum of mine that, as far as the progressive Left is concerned, "they never stop, they never sleep, they never quit." After their twin defeats at the Supreme Court last week, regarding two of their most sensitive issues (both of which derive from their devotion to cultural suicide, which is their principal objective), don't expect them to give up easily. They subscribe to their version of Islamism or the Brezhnev Doctrine: once they've conquered moral or physical tparerritory, it can never go back to the way it was. They see themselves as the heroes of their own movies, good red-diaper babies constantly battling the forces

The Navy is threatening to penalize sailors who purposely misuse pronouns to describe transgender service members, viewing it as a violation of the service's harassment policy.
Sailors who run afoul of the policy could face administrative or judicial action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Navy Capt. Dave Hecht, a public affairs officer, told American Military News.
"Intentional misuse of transgender service member pronouns is inappropriate and inconsistent with the Navy zero tolerance policy on harassment," Hecht told the news site.
"The UCMJ prohibits provoking speeches or gestures, conduct that is of a nature to bring discredit upon the Armed Forces or is prejudicial to good order and discipline,

One of the most frustrating arguments the medical field has refined is the unacceptability of challenging any medical dogma because doing so “harms” patients. For example, I and many of my colleagues believe that the number one cause of infant mortality within the United States is the childhood vaccine schedule (which is also what is most clearly linked to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and that vaccines often fail to prevent infectious disease and that most of the diseases we vaccinate against are extremely rare or relatively harmless.
However, the typical response by the mainstream medical community has been to label anyone who opposes any childhood vaccination as a “baby killer,“

If you listen to the mainstream media you will know that from time to time spontaneous peaceful protests break out in the nation focused on various social issues. You will also know that Antifa is largely a fiction of the ‘delusional right’ and that the real threat to the nation comes from a vast right-wing conspiracy driven by white supremacists.
In short, you will know nothing. (Snip) What we saw in the infamous “summer of love” was the work of a nationwide network of highly organized anarchist and Marxist groups with the express purpose of destroying the nation as we know it. Their actions are meticulously planned and well supported.

The quality of evidence for the FDA's emergency use authorization (EUA) of COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as 6 months is drawing scrutiny from high-profile doctors and academics, some of whom are asking the White House not to pressure parents to vaccinate.
With CDC seroprevalence data from February finding 75% of minors had natural immunity, more attention is going to the risk/benefit calculation of vaccines for the age group at lowest risk from COVID.
Parents on the fence may find their hesitancy reaffirmed by new studies, not yet peer-reviewed, on the COVID infection fatality rate (IFR) by age and underlying health conditions and "serious adverse events of interest" following

ABIM contacted Dr. Peter McCullough in a letter dated May 26, 2022 notifying him he is accused of spreading misinformation and started an investigation to remove his board certification.
Senator Ron Johnson heard about the letter and sent a letter dated June 15 to Dr. Richard Baron, President & CEO of the ABIM where he politely offered to host an expert panel of doctors in Washington DC to resolve what the science actually says, similar to the widely popular “A second opinion” panel he hosted, but this time with scientists on both sides.
Note that Johnson’s original panel invited scientists on all sides but nobody was willing to support

Editor’s note: In these exclusive excerpts from the book “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” out Tuesday, author Michael Pack asks the Supreme Court justice about the influence of his maternal grandfather. (Snip) Pack: What happened on the other end, when you showed up to your grandparents’ house?
Thomas: My grandfather was this myth. We saw him maybe once or twice when we lived on the West Side. He was very stern. And he sat us there at the kitchen table and he said, “Boys, the damn vacation is over.” He said from then on it was going to be “rules and regulations and manners and behavior.”
Comments:
I don't think destroying cattle is a by-product of the global warming myth. Rather, the people who want to drastically reduce the world population keep coming up with more and more ways to cut food production. It is ludicrous to claim that cows are affecting earth's climate. No honest scientist can believe that, but how many of that breed are there left?
