Former U.S. Department of Education (DOE) Secretary Betsy DeVos spoke during the Moms For Liberty National Summit in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday and called on abolishing the federal agency she once served. “I personally think the Department of Education should not exist,” DeVos said during the summit, according to the Florida Phoenix. DeVos, who ran the education department during the Trump Administration, has continued advocating for school choice for American children.

It can exist as long as they are honest enough to change the name to the DOI - Department of Indoctrination.

Absolutely true. And, while we're at it, the Departments of agriculture, commerce, labor, HHS, HUD, transportation, energy, EPA, Science & Technology and the SBA can all be disbanded, their functions seriously curtailed, since there is no Constitutional justification for them in the first place.

Unfortunately, even President Reagan could not remove it despite it being a new agency when he became president. Heck, folks, we still have the Rural Electrification Agency, despite the obvious. This is what Democrats count on, once you establish an agency, department, etc.. it will NEVER be removed, and they count on those who are employed in such entities to vote to maintain them. Doesn't matter if the money is being wasted, or not really needed, redundant, obsolete, they get funding. Want to cry about the "power of the purse", well, you'll need to return to General Order first, which looks to be a near impossibility after running CR's since 2007-08 fiscal year budget (thank Harry Reid who didn't want to force Democrats to make tough budget decisions).

Textbook Republican, and it's why USA is in the mess it's in right now. Rick "Gov. Goodhair" Perry pulled the same stunt. Claimed that if elected president that he'd abolish three federal departments just for starters, but when pressed could not name even one of them ("Um..." was the reply that slammed the lid on his campaign). And when placed in charge of one such department, didn't move to shut it down, and did not distinguish himself in any way.

President Joe Biden is currently on pace to bring about 2.1 million illegal aliens to the United States-Mexico border by the end of the year. Steve Kopits with the Princeton Policy Advisors projects that in fiscal year 2022, Biden will entice about 2.1 million illegal aliens to the southern border — an annual record for illegal immigration that surpasses Biden’s record-setting levels for 2021. “Overall, the situation at the border is largely unchanged. The Open Borders policy remains in place,” Kopits wrote in an analysis. (Graph) The projection comes as Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that nearly 192,000 border crossers were apprehended in June.

Washington, D.C.'s homeless shelters are filling up because Texas Governor Greg Abbott is sending busloads of migrants from his state to the nation's capital, Mayor Muriel Bowser claimed Sunday morning. The D.C. mayor is requesting that Abbott stop preventing migrants from getting to their final destinations. Arizona's Governor Doug Ducey followed Abbott's lead earlier this summer as they both started sending migrants from their respective states to D.C. to take some of the load off of the migration crisis hitting border states. Due to this initiative, homeless shelters in the nation's capital are starting to cap out with these asylum-seekers.
