Governor Greg Abbott's office claims that Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is only seeing a 'fraction of the disaster' at the southern border after she complained that her city's homeless shelters are filling up with migrants bused from Texas and Arizona. 'Border communities are overrun and overwhelmed, and Governor Abbott launched the border bus mission back in April to help provide support to these communities pleading for help where the Biden Administration is dumping migrants,' Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze told DailyMail.com in a statement.

So 4000 illegals is a major crisis for Washington DC requiring federal intervention, the estimated 2.1 million illegals entering Texas and Arizona isn't any problem? Mayor Bowser should count her blessings that the city does not border Mexico and has to deal with the daily influx of illegals flooding the towns and cities of Texas and Arizona. Her criticism of Gov. Abbott's actions and whining about a few illegals cluttering up the homeless shelters are nothing compared to what the states have had to deal with every day since Biden became President.

There is nothing better for politicians in an election year than to engage in a good old-fashioned war of insults. Abbott is undoubtedly collecting video for his campaign ads...featuring the liberal mayor of the hated Capital City on the Potomac. Good seats are still available for the spectacle. Abbott thanks the heavens for Beto at bedtime nightly.

Some of the country’s bluest cities say they are filling up with illegal immigrants and need federal cash to help them accommodate everyone. New York Mayor Eric Adams made his plea Tuesday. He said his city has had more than 2,800 “asylum seekers” entering homeless shelters in recent weeks. “We are calling on the federal government to partner with New York City as we help asylum seekers navigate this process, and to provide financial and technical resources,” he said in a statement asking Uncle Sam for the handout.

To hear Washington Post columnist Perry Bacon tell it, Joe Biden’s low approval ratings aren’t due to his ludicrous policies, his failed leadership, or his cockamamie worldview. Joe Biden isn’t very popular because of the way the mainstream media is covering him. The lack of self-awareness notwithstanding, Bacon blames the media because its “flawed coverage model of politics and government is bad for more than just Biden — it results in a distorted national discourse that weakens our democracy. The media needs to find a different way to cover Washington.”

Opening statements in the criminal contempt of Congress trial against Steve Bannon wrapped up Tuesday with prosecutors arguing Bannon did not show up for testimony in the Jan. 6 investigation because he decided he was 'above the law.' Bannon's attorney Evan Corcoran, meanwhile, argued that the former White House aide did not ignore the subpoena but rather his team was still in negotiations with the Jan. 6 committee. 'No one ignored the subpoena,' Corcoran said. . 'It's called negotiation, it's called accommodation … that's not an excuse.'

The left has a new enemy in their saga to make January 6th the preeminent issue of our time: The US Secret Service. Reports have been flying around asserting that the Secret Service deleted text messages dating to the time of the unrest at the Capitol Building. That was confirmed on Tuesday, after officials announced that there are no new texts to provide to the January 6th committee that are relevant to its “investigation.” Any others of concern have already been purged, though, the agency insists there was no purposeful malicious action in doing so. That comes via The Washington Post, which is now sounding the alarm about possible illegality

The carnage at Netflix keeps getting worse. On Tuesday, the far left-wing streamer revealed that it lost close to 1 million subscribers in the second quarter — the largest quarterly loss of customers in the company’s history. Still, shares of Netflix jumped more than 10 percent in after-hours trading because the bad news wasn’t half as bad as investors had expected. Netflix reported 970,000 customers quit the service during the quarter, a continuation of the mass subscriber exodus that began earlier this year. Netflix had forecast a net loss of 2 million subscribers for the second quarter, while analysts were expecting a loss of 1.4 million to 1.8 million.

Debate on the House floor grew heated as the Democrat-majority chamber prepares to advance its Respect For Marriage Act, aimed at codifying same-sex marriage. TEHRAN, Iran— Russian President Vladimir Putin won staunch support from Iran on Tuesday for his country’s military campaign in Ukraine, with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei saying the West opposes an “independent and strong” Russia. Khamenei said that if Russia hadn’t sent troops into Ukraine, it would have faced an attack from NATO later, a statement that echoed Putin’s own rhetoric and reflected increasingly close ties between Moscow and Tehran as they both face crippling Western sanctions. NATO allies have bolstered their military presence in Eastern Europe and provided Ukraine with weapons to help counter the Russian attack.
