Lynch, President of the New York City Police Benevolent Association, hit out as it was revealed Colinford Mattis, 35, and Urooj Rahman, 33, now face just two years in jail. The pair had originally faced up to life behind bars after torching the van in Brooklyn in May 2020, days after George Floyd's murder at the hands of Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin.

All the good cops at NYPD should move to the Red Zone where they can be real cops.

Both these individuals should be disbarred and disgraced in civil society. In other words they have a great future in Dem politics. Maybe they will be hired by Merrick Garland for his new DOJ/Homeland security post to combat disinformation by law enforcement by arresting and naming criminals.

Don't despond too much, folks. Their disbarment will now be automatic. Bar Associations always wait until conviction.
The really unfortunate thing about their sentence -- two years hard time for these lightweight wimps is no joke -- is that the feds grabbed them, and they'll be going to a better prison. I wish they had done some hard time in state lockups. They'd see there how much the black inmates (whom they think they are "liberating") love them.

I've been told (by a customer whose husband politician, of course a Democrat, who spent some time in Federal prison on official bribery charges) that the Federal prisons are much better facilities than most state prisons. Problem is, you tend to get released quicker from state prisons, but it's not as violent or severe than most state prisons. Mostly, because violent prisoners are usually charged by the states, not the federal courts.
You also have some flexibility as to where you are sent. For example, my customer and her husband had small children. Originally, he was scheduled to be sent to Hawaii for his sentence (the family lives in Texas). They were able to negotiate for a federal lock up in Beaumont so the family could visit more often.
In fact, I remember talking to my customer one day and I made an off-hand remark when I made a mistake of "not to make a federal crime out of it." I immediately realized what I said and quickly and sincerely apologized to my customer about what was easily interpretable as a cruel remark. She laughed it off, saying no offense taken.

- weren't the officers in the squad car when these two fire bombed it?, if so, no one's taking that into consideration???
