Elon Musk: Counterrevolutionary?

Original Article

If you are skeptical of claims that an ascendant ruling class has been hard at work transforming the country into a single-party surveillance state in which only approved speech is permitted, your doubts should be allayed by the hysteria that greeted Elon Musk’s offer to buy Twitter. His proposal to pay $54.20 per share — 38 percent higher than its closing price on April 1 — was eminently fair. Yet it has been portrayed by our self-appointed patriciate as a dangerous power play by a sinister plutocrat with fell designs on democracy.

Musk has the Twitter BOD folks screaming like banshees that content moderation is the only thing that keeps democracy alive. That if real free speech was allowed democracy would fail. One might think that the BOD is afraid. Of course it is, as they are the only ones keeping the oligarchs in power depriving Americans of truths, whether it comes from the right, left or center of the citizenry. Elon Musk is a new founding father.

FTA: Three-hundred years ago, in 1722, Benjamin Franklin warned: “Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freedom of speech.” Would that we would have men and women today who hold these very basic truths. The meltdown by the left is a true indication that Mr. Musk is on the side of freedom of speech which is something the left abhors. They cannot stand on the field of ideas and debate their horrific policies with any measure of success. They desperately need to keep their followers who are young and indoctrinated far away from truth. They cannot allow them to think for themselves or question the leftist orthodoxy. Isn’t it ironic that no American or group of Americans stood up in a meaningful way for the very basic tenets of our founding but it took Mr. Musk, a naturalized citizen, to articulate what we all knew was happening, the censoring of free speech, an act directly in violation of the Constitution. Good on him. I wish him well. If he is successful, I hope her changes that little blue bird logo for a majestic bald eagle which would light the lefts’ hair on fire. It makes me smile just thinking about it.

I am careful about embracing someone who takes an action that I believe in, without knowing what they believe in. I saw his interview about mRNA technology changing people, and it gave me the creeps. An analysis of twitter I read recently pointed out that the model for twitter does not allow for a profit without outside government involvement. It made a lot of sense. If this is true the government/shadow government will take measures to prevent Musk from gaining enough stock to do what he wants--whatever that is.

IDK what to make of this guy, but the 1st thing he said to oppose aaaaalll the other oligarchs is that we need to have more children. Couldn't believe he said that. Contrast that to the gates (of hell) foundation, zuckerboob fam planning initiatives, world eco forum sponsors. That stand gave him bonafides. I'm listening.

Musk has the resources to create his own version of Twitter and wipe out the original version and all of it's foreign investors and management. I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned that option already. Maybe the board would be a little more receptive.

A new platform won't open up to new ideas. It will be primarily used by the Chorus, as the left would not join it any more than they subscribe to Trump's new platform. A single town square is where the debates should be.

Democrats lose Hispanic and blue-collar

Hispanic voters are rapidly reevaluating their relationship with the Democratic Party, creating a problem for Democrats that, in some ways, mirrors their struggle to retain working-class voters. A Quinnipiac poll published last week found that Hispanic voters disapproved of President Joe Biden’s job performance more than any other racial group, with just 12% of Hispanics saying they “approve strongly” of how he is handling the office. It followed a string of surveys showing Latino voters souring over the past year on both Biden specifically and on Democrats generally: By December of last year, less than a year into Biden’s presidency,

On Easter Sunday, CNN political analyst John Harwood decided to absolve Joe Biden of all of his sins. Harwood wrote a piece stating that there’s really nothing Biden can do about any of the major problems his administration faces. There’s just not much President Joe Biden can do about it. There’s not much he can do to curb inflation. There’s not much he can do to stop migrants from reaching America’s southern border. Or to reduce crime, or to make vaccine resisters get shots that would hasten the end of the coronavirus pandemic. There’s not much he can do to compel cooperation from defectors within his thin Democratic congressional majorities.

President Biden's approval rating among Hispanics has plummeted as the historically Democratic bloc's support for Republicans continues to increase, presenting an electoral problem for Democrats, whose immigration policies have fueled much of this shift.Only 26% of Hispanic voters approve of Biden's job performance, compared to 54% who disapprove, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday. Perhaps most striking, the poll found a staggering 41% of Hispanic voters "strongly disapprove" of Biden's handling of the presidency, while just 12% "strongly approve." Hispanics represent the country's second largest voting bloc by ethnicity. A downward trend in Hispanic support for Biden has been ongoing for months.

We’ve been covering the continuing drama of Elon Musk’s effort to buy Twitter. Where we last left you in the saga was that the Twitter board announced that it was going to adopt a “poison pill” defense – a move trying to prevent him from acquiring more than 15 percent of the company. It’s designed to make the acquisition less attractive. Now, the problem with this move is that it’s denying the shareholders the gain they would have made from the sale, so is detrimental to their interests. Musk was offering to buy for a share price much higher than what the shares were currently priced.

Oh, to be as privileged as a Black Lives Matter founder! Entitled former BLM leader Patrisse Cullors’ latest complaint is that standard financial disclosure forms are “triggering” and “unsafe.” You see, in a panic after the 2020 killing of George Floyd, corporate America dumped roughly $90 million on the national BLM group, which then used part of the windfall to quietly buy some premium real estate for its leaders’ enjoyment. New York magazine recently exposed BLM’s October 2020 purchase of a $5.8 million Studio City, Calif., mansion, reporting that Cullors rapidly denounced as a “racist and sexist” attack because . . . well, as best we can tell,

We stand here on the edge of tyranny… Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter. That, roughly speaking, has been the commentariat reaction in recent days as the world’s richest man has launched a takeover attempt of the social-media giant, citing his concerns about its censorious policies as his main motivation.Musk revealed last week that he had become Twitter’s largest shareholder, with a 9.2 per cent stake. Now he’s offered to buy the whole company for a cool $43 billion, a nice premium on its current worth. As it stands, Twitter’s board is resisting and America’s great and good have gone berserk.

Do a president’s words count, or not? If a president keeps making declarations that bear no relationship whatsoever to actual administration policy, he is at best irrelevant. But President Biden’s many verbal slip-ups and ad-libs can be expected to enrage Vladimir Putin and make him redouble his efforts when the United States should be exerting effort in the other direction, to encourage Putin to de-escalate.We’ve just learned that when President Biden called Vladimir Putin’s acts “genocide” the remark didn’t really count, any more than it counted when Biden called Putin “a war criminal,” (never mind, said his staff).

Joe Biden's recent job approval ratings, which are averaging 14 points lower than those early in his presidency, have declined far more among younger than older generations of Americans. As a result, older Americans are now more likely to approve of the president than younger Americans are.(Snip)This analysis is based on aggregated Gallup poll data since Biden became president, dividing his presidency into three distinct periods defined by his average approval rating at the time. President Biden traveled to Iowa for the first time in his tenure on Tuesday to promote the new infrastructure law and unveil plans to tackle soaring gas prices, which include allowing ethanol-blended gasoline to be sold during the summer. The move should appeal to farmers in the corn-rich state. But despite the president’s belated attention to the state, Democrats have all but written off Iowa in their political future. The national party is weighing plans to abandon the state's famed first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses, even while it loses ground in pivotal congressional contests. Of all the Democrats’ gestures of contemptuous indifference toward ordinary people, President Joe Biden’s 8.5% inflation rate is the most provocatively insouciant. Bidenflation, more than any of his many other culpable failures, will prompt voters to respond in November with a gut punch to the party’s solar plexus. One should not minimize the impact of other blows to public morale from outrages such as the cultural revolution against every traditional norm, the disgrace of U.S. capitulation to a ragtag army of medieval Afghan farmers, Biden’s abandonment of national sovereignty at the Mexican border, or the performative diktats of his tinpot COVID bureaucrats. All these contribute to our sour national mood.
