A Delivery Driver Punch And Knock Down
A Rare Philly Concealed Carry Permit Holder
– The Gun Owner Makes The Wrong Move (Video)

A man accused of shooting a delivery driver during a fight over parking turned himself in to Philadelphia police Friday morning, a source with direct knowledge of the investigation told NBC10's Deanna Durante. The man is accused of pulling out a gun and firing after getting into a fistfight with a delivery driver who was making a pick-up Thursday afternoon at 17th and Chestnut streets in Rittenhouse Square, one of the city’s most popular and busiest shopping districts. A witness told said that the driver was double-parked and blocking a couple in another car.

Comments:

The way he cowardly attacked was enough for me to see him getting gunned down. If you attack people you might get shot. But the shooter will now lose his license to carry and end up in jail because he reacted after the man was already in the car!

I am a second amendment absolutist, and support self-defense above all rights. But if you’re in this big of a hurry to actually fire a weapon at another human being, maybe being a gun owner isn’t the right thing for you. It is a right, but it comes with responsibility. Free societies require the populace to demonstrate virtue.

Polite societies educate every jerkwad out there that they might run into a person with a gun.

Under most state laws, you may use matching, but not excessive force in self defense. The exception to that might be an old man like me, 83 years old, unable to use matching force, where I could legally use a firearm to defend myself against fists.

Gun owner was totally wrong. When you take on the responsibility of carrying the onus is on you to understand the potentially serious consequences of making a mistake. The one thing I keep seeing and don't understand - there is nothing rare about PA LTCFs. (License to Carry a Firearm) They are quite common in PA, even in Philadelphia.

A delivery guy working one of Philly's toniest streets cold-cocked a guy who got in his face. Then, after turning his back and climbing in his vehicle - matter closed - finds himself under fire. That shooter was under no imminent threat. Put him away.

Stupid all around. The delivery guy could have taken 30 seconds to move up a car-length but maybe the gun owner was being obnoxious from the get-go. Absolutely no reason to pull a gun or shoot.

Don't block people in. Don't punch people and knock them down. Sometimes people won't take a beating and not escalate.

Re: #3 - I think 83 is the new 60. As far as the video, it did not appear that the legally parked gent, the shooter, was not actually blocked in if his car was equipped with a reverse. In this day and age, deliveries are a convenience utilized by tens of millions of Americans, so a little patience can go a long way. There's no excuse to shoot someone, especially in the back, who is retreating from an altercation where no weapons were used.

There was open curb space behind the parked guy...Delivery driver was tooooo lazy and arrogantly self centered to bother using it, and tooo ready to use violence when called out about it. It was not just the "shooter" confronting him, but also a female, that got knocked down when the shooter did. Grounds to shoot? Nope, not by "Letter of the Law", but shot guy is no Victim and was no follower of "Letter of the Law". The old saying "Gawd did not make all men equal Sam Colt did", is flawed, no man is equal to any other man, nor even equal to himself on different days...Sam Colt just made men more "Polite". Nearly every problem in society today, is generated by people simply not being "Polite", bad manners deserve bad outcomes, they NEED bad outcomes in order keep from becoming common.

Expecting someone in Philadelphia to be polite and courteous works about as well as it does in New York City. It's a Northeast thing that comes with the territory.

Yes, the gunman was out of control and made a bad decision. On the other hand, when you're coming out of unconsciousness, maybe even with a concussion, it may be a bit more difficult to make good decisions. In any event, the fist-fighter delivery guy has learned his own lesson the hard way. Don't start beating people up in the heat of the moment--you might wind up in the hospital with three bullets in you.

The training for concealed carry stresses that you do not engage in physical or verbal altercations while armed. You talk your way out and back down. Do not exchange angry word or provoke a reaction. There was no immediate threat to life and use of deadly force was not an appropriate response. This hotheaded idiot needs to go to prison for a long long time. He has no business owning a firearm.

Who would have thought that Canada would ever be a spark plug for a freedom movement against tyranny? Everything started when Ottawa’s police chief was ousted amid criticism of his inaction against the trucker protests that have paralyzed Canada’s capital for over two weeks, while the number of blockades maintained by demonstrators at the U.S. border dropped to just one. The twin developments came a day after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked Canada’s Emergencies Act and threatened to take tough legal and financial measures to end the unrest in Ottawa and beyond by protesters decrying the country’s COVID-19 restrictions and Trudeau’s government.

Alec Baldwin may have fired the shot that killed “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins without pulling the gun’s trigger, a New Mexico prosecutor says. Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies told Vanity Fair she had watched Alec Baldwin’s bombshell interview with ABC in December and was drawn to the actor’s claim that he did not pull the trigger. “You can pull the hammer back without actually pulling the trigger and without actually locking it,” Carmack-Altwies said. “So you pull it back partway, it doesn’t lock, and then if you let it go, the firing pin can hit the primer of the bullet.”

The Trudeau regime has given up all pretense of free society, as they trample freedoms and human beings in a vicious, Stalin-esque crackdown on free speech. Not just the speech of protesters but of the press as well. The Ottawa government and the Canadian government overall are invoking anti-terror powers to physically assault protesters and reporters, and lying online about what they’re doing, gaslighting the world as they burn down Canada’s veneer of being a free state. Lines of heavily-armed police in Ottawa dramatically thrust forward Saturday morning to gain yet more ground in the operation to smash the truck-protest occupation of the downtown area.

Rasmussen Reports found that 59 percent of respondents support the convoy, including 42 percent who “strongly support” it.
