House Dems break against mask mandate

Original Article

Posted By: Garnet, 2/10/2022 2:29:37 PM

It’s been one of the greatest sources of tension between House Republicans and Democrats for a year now: a chamber-wide mandate requiring lawmakers to mask up before they vote — and steep fines if they refuse. But now some House Democrats are following the lead of Democratic governors, calling for an end to mask mandates — even as their party imposes one in the House chamber. Charges of hypocrisy are in the air. Last year, House Democrats enacted new rules that fine offenders (namely protesting Republicans) $500 the first time they fail to mask up, and $2,500 per infraction after that.

They read the writing on the wall and realized Covid mandates are a losing cause.

Note how it wasn’t about the science or the spike in adolescent suicides, but the bad polls that changed the authoritarian democrat minds.

Hopefully the sheeple won't forget by November who was responsible for this. The Repubs will go along to get along and not bring it up again.

Too little, too late......to capitulate. Democrats are inextricably tied to the mandate/Great Reset. Own it, fools!

Because they want to run in the November election as the party that ended the mandates. That know that people are, yes, that dumb.

As for November, the Dems will use redistricting and cheating to do just fine. The people voting won't mean much, and the Dems will try to resurrect 1998, when they went well for Clinton. The Republicans will suck their thumbs and run ads about providing day care.

Masks are a tool to manufacture and perpetuate fear in people while at the same time extracting obedience and punishment for not obeying. How about let's follow the science. "Upon analysis of negative-stained SARS-CoV-2 articles by electron microscopy, different researchers have had varying results, but the diameter of the virus has been found to range between 50 nm (0.05 microns) to 140 nm (0.014 microns)." Now, what is the filtration capacity of an N95 mask? "The N95 mask filters down to 0.3 microns. So, N95 masks block few, if any, virions (virus particles)." So at this point wearing a mask is only for your psychological protection. In reality, it is doing nothing to protect you or anyone else.

The abrupt 180 degree change on masking is not following the science, it is shifting to where the political winds are blowing. People have had enough of the tyranny of dictatorial politicians and want their liberty back. The absolute tyrants are digging their heels in. Many of the tyrants are doing this reluctantly, because they know that they will be voted out of office if they don’t. Hopefully, voters will have the good sense to vote them out anyway.

The Hill: Here's the shocking thing Democrats
can do to salvage Biden's presidency

There is almost unanimous consent among polling organizations at this point that Joe Biden’s support, even among members of his own party, has been “collapsing across the board.” It’s gotten bad enough that significant percentages of Democrats, to say nothing of Independents and Republicans, have told pollsters that the first year of Biden’s presidency has simply been a “failure.” But does that mean that it’s too late to turn things around? Not in the analysis of Douglas Schoen at The Hill. While not sounding overly optimistic, he does believe that the Democrats can still turn the ship around ahead of the midterms and restore the nation’s confidence in this administration

Yes we do … but does the White House? Do Democrats? Ron Klain tried to slough off inflation as a “high-class problem” in October, but the Washington Post rightly features its corrosive effects on the working class today. The reduction in buying power, especially in housing prices, has lower-income Americans in “survival mode”: Lower-income workers like Rodriguez have seen some of the fastest wage growth of the pandemic era. But those gains are being eroded by the highest inflation in 40 years, and Rodriguez’s paycheck doesn’t go as far as it used to. A mother of three, Rodriguez has to budget $200 a week for child care
How Biden and the Democrats Reignited Inflation 7 replies

As has been widely reported, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the latest inflation numbers last Thursday, and they were ugly. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 7.5 percent during the 12-month period ending in January, its largest one-year spike in 40 years. This dwarfs the inflation rate of 1.4 percent that President Biden and the Democratic Congress inherited in January of 2021. BLS also reported that real earnings decreased 1.7 percent from January 2021 to January 2022. All of this is directly attributable to the incompetent economic policies of the Biden administration and wild spending by congressional Democrats in the midst of a supply chain crisis.
CNN poll: Biden collapsing "across the board" 5 replies

The good news for Joe Biden in today’s CNN poll: his job approval got above 40%. The bad news is that there are nearly no undecideds when it comes to his performance as president. Biden hits a high of 58% disapproval in the latest CNN survey and gets a -17 gap in approval that manages to outstrip his already-pathetic RCP aggregate gap.CNN’s data provides the real takeaway, which is that Biden’s confidence-crisis cascade has accelerated rather than slowed: Nearly 6 in 10 Americans disapprove of how Joe Biden is handling his presidency, with most of that group saying there’s literally nothing Biden has done

Liberals' Losing Battle For American Minds 9 replies

We can understand if Dr. Anthony Fauci, the uber-scientist who knows it all, did not enjoy his Monday coffee as he opened the morning newspapers. Three thousand miles away, Big Tech social media cops who now control with an iron hand every American conversation in the public square (no differently from Mukhabarat police organizations of the Middle East) were similarly having a bad start to the week. Gov. Philip Murphy of New Jersey, a liberal Democrat in one of the bluest states, had just announced a return to a life of normalcy. Students, teachers, and employees in state schools would no longer be required to wear masks.

Is a modicum of sanity about to reassert itself regarding the Wuhan Flu? Are the people finally exhausted by their panic over the Fauci-altered coronavirus? Remember those little bulletins that Mike Pence carried around, enjoining us all to to take “fifteen days to stop the spread”? I think we’re at about day 750 now. New York restaurants and many cultural emporia demand that you produce your papiers (it sounds better in German) — identification plus an image attesting to your “vaccination status” — in order to enter. Some are even requiring proof that you’ve had a “booster” jab. Pfizer likes that.
Four blue states preparing to ditch mask mandates 5 replies

Yesterday, Allahpundit pointed out one of the early cracks in the blue wall of support for mask mandates, particularly in public schools. New Jersey’s governor seemed to be ready to throw in the towel and stop fighting public sentiment on the issue. Well, shortly after that, the push to put an end to the mandates appeared to start spreading faster than the Omicron variant. Three more blue state governors joined Phil Murphy in saying that mandates would be coming to an end either this month or in March. Oregon, Connecticut, and Delaware jumped on the bandwagon, with the governors of those states sounding suspiciously like the protesters

The Democrats are facing a grim November if they can’t find some way to energize their increasingly disillusioned base. Consequently, they regard the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer from the Supreme Court as a golden opportunity to rekindle enthusiasm among their voters. President Biden, having already committed to replacing Breyer with an affirmative action hire, is all but certain to nominate a far left radical in order to provoke a confirmation brawl with the GOP as the midterms approach. The Republicans, however, have little to gain by trading punches in such an altercation. They would be wiser to employ a “rope-a-dope” strategy.

The rush to blame every instance of hate on the right is hardly a new phenomenon. Things are so absurd that we’ve even seen the rise in black-on-Asian hate crimes attributed to Donald Trump saying “China virus.” You know, because minority groups in New York City and San Francisco are renowned for taking their political cues from Trump. Still, despite more noose hoaxes than one can count, the left can always be counted on to jump to conclusions, and those conclusions usually involve pointing the finger at MAGA. That happened again recently after commuters noticed a series of hand-drawn swastikas on the outside of Union Station in Washington, DC.

Most “either/or” questions are designed to make you choose, but sometimes the correct answer is “both.” When dealing with someone like President Joe Biden, it’s not always possible to know the answer to a simple question: is this man stupid, or is he just a liar? There is ample evidence of both, almost always, but the exact tilt of a scale and in which direction it points for the majority is not always clear. As such, you are sometimes left wondering which it is, but there is little doubt it is at least one and usually some combination of both. So what has me asking this?
