Vermont Plans To Enshrine Legal Abortions
Right Up To Birth

Original Article

A three-year battle in Vermont is coming to a head over Proposal 5, an amendment to the state constitution that would enshrine existing Vermont abortion “liberties” to terminate pregnancies up until birth. Roe v. Wade established “viability” as the determinant of when state governments hold a “compelling” interest to protect children. The current challenge to Roe in the Supreme Court concerns a Mississippi law that would ban abortions after 15 weeks. Vermont’s Proposal 5 essentially defines fetal viability at 40 weeks (birth), ignoring both Roe and the science of human development.

Comments:

It's infanticide, and overturning Roe V Wade isn't enough. This needs to be outlawed.

As per the 10th Amendment, Vermont can do as it pleases. Will there be an increase in tourism because women (and men) are coming to Vermont for abortions? OR Will tourism decrease because life-loving people choose to spend their money elsewhere?

We spent a few weeks in Vermont many years ago, between jobs. Skiing at Killington was nice, but we really enjoyed touring the Cabot Creamery and watching them make cheese. We stayed a long time. And we also visited some maple sugaring places, watched them molding the maple candies in various shapes. I wished I could have afforded some of the fine hand made furniture in a furniture museum/sales place. There was a solid cherry rolltop desk that was just maginficent an beautifully crafted with hand sawn dovetails everywhere. That was over 40 years ago. But, with all the insane leftists and hateful crazies that have moved in from Mass and other lunatic asylums, I don't think I'll bother to ever go back. Leftists wreck everything.

At various times Vermont has practically begged people to move there. Its population is one of the smallest of any state and the leftist policies discourage economic growth. Now they discourage having children too. Once Bernie Sanders leaves the scene, you'll rarely hear Vermont mentioned in national conversations.

Every time I see some lie-beral hosebeast crying because the Supreme Court may overturn R v W, I want to puke. Reversing R v W would not outlaw abortion. It would simply move the right to pass laws concerning abortion back to the states. Consequently, a handful of conservative states would outlaw it in all cases. A handful of lie-beral states (like Vermont) would make it legal for all 9 months. And the majority of states would put some restrictions on it, but allow it in other cases (like first trimester, rape, and handicapped babies in the womb). At least when God finally gets fed up and just destroys this earth, he would know which states to deal with the most harshly!!! I would not want to be in Vermont when that happens...

If Vermont leftists really want to put their money where their mouths are, they should make killing children and adults at any time legal also. After all, it is just a very late term abortion. Who is the government or society to tell a woman what can happen to her family. Marriage isn't working out? A woman should be able to abort her husband. Mouthy teen age daughter? The mother should be able to abort the teenager. Who is society to judge what is best for the woman. It is her life, her choice! Vermont can decide what is best for them. Vermont, the Cult of Death State!

Last week, a Louisiana appellate court reinstated Attorney General Jeff Landry’s lawsuit challenging Mark Zuckerberg’s infiltration of the state election system with private “Zuck Bucks” that flooded the country during the 2020 election. The lawsuit, State of Louisiana v. Center for Tech and Civic Life, originated in October 2020. That’s when Louisiana, through Landry, sought a court order declaring that “private contributions to local election officials and the election system in general are unlawful and contrary to Louisiana law.” Landry’s lawsuit followed attempts by the Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life to dole out millions in targeted grants to election officials throughout the state.

A common trope in popular culture is that if you commit crimes against the weak, particularly children, prison won’t be kind to you. There are many in there who committed all manner of horrific crimes but who, whether because of life experience or their own sense of justice, don’t take kindly to those who abuse children. In fact, “don’t take kindly” is quite an understatement. When it comes to those who, like the ones who many say were given a slap on the wrist by Kentanji Jackson, commit crimes involving child pornography or abusing kids, “prison justice”

The White House said this week it plans to release up to 180 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, a million barrels a day for 180 days, to help bring down near-record gas prices that were climbing before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but have since spiked. It will be the largest release of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve since it was established in the early 1970s, and it probably won’t work. The specific reasons it probably won’t work — congestion on the Gulf Coast, a possible reduction in supply from Saudi Arabia and other oil producers,

Two years ago, far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, established a task force with the assigned mission of examining slavery reparations. From the beginning, it was clear that the outcome from the task force wasn’t going to be if it would recommend reparations, that was a foregone conclusion. The only question was to whom such reparations should be given. On Tuesday, that task force finally made their recommendation, and they may also have given a hint that whatever steps were to be taken would only be the beginning. After a lengthy debate and prior to holding the actual vote, the vice-chair of the task force,

Judicial confirmation hearings are rarely illuminating. Since the introduction of television cameras, they mostly serve as a way for senators to say what they want their constituents to hear and for judicial nominees to say as little as possible. Nothing is learned, at least not on purpose. But occasionally, we learn something by accident. At Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

As demonstrated by the party’s destructive callousness towards children, the elderly, and the poor during their Covid lockdown frenzy, Democrats care about none of these real-world results of their policies. But they do care about polling, and Joe Biden’s is abysmal. According to even heavily politicized polls, Biden is at least performing as badly as Donald Trump. Biden is between the third- and fifth-most ratings-underwater president ever in American history at this point in his first term.
