The House passed a voting rights bill on Thursday and sent it to the Senate as part of a procedural gambit to allow Chuck Schumer to bypass a Republican fillibuster in order to start debate on the legislation. The House passed the measure 220-203 party-line vote. The move buys time as Schumer and other Democratic leaders try to persuade Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to join them in changing Senate rules to kill the filibuster on the voting legislation. The pressure campaign on the two is on: President Joe Biden heads to Capitol Hill in the afternoon

It seems as if the bill got the support of the moderate communists - - as well as the radical communists.
And I thought we could count on the moderate commies. My bad.

This theater of the absurd means nothing, despite the breathless headline. This is just Nanzi trying to put more pressure on Sinema and Manchin, and others. This will not pass the Senate because they don't have the votes.
In short, this changes nothing.

Manchin and Sinema should tell TaliBiden that they have scheduling conflicts and can’t meet with him - just like Stacy Abrams did to him in Atlanta the other day.

Odds are Biden gets lost in a White House bathroom for an hour and a half and then proceeds to call a stray dog Congresswomen Manson. Thank the lord we no longer have those boorish tweets though.

From our Declaration of Independence:
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, IT IS THEIR DUTY, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." (emphasis mine)
Oh, that. /s

You can BET that Democrats ALWAYS seek to change the rules when it becomes obvious that the American people, or their representatives, will not vote the Democrats' way. Just more of "the ends justify the means" crap.
Of course Democrats are now in the process of changing voting demographics by inviting illegal invaders into America to negate real Americans' votes (whose votes Democrats have been unable to change).
If THAT fails, the next logical step for Democrats is to invite Communist Chinese and North Koreans "refugees" into America to vote for Democrats.
Exactly WHEN will ALL "Republicans" finally say ENOUGH.

To Democrats, a "Democracy" is ANY government run by... Democrsts!
Communist, Socialist, Totalitarion, Theocratic; if the people in charge call themselves "Democrats" then it must be a "Democracy".
You've got to learn to parse their meanings.

So much for those "blue dog democrats" who claim to be moderate or conservative, and generally are just fooling people in their districts of their real intent.
Good to hear Sinema state on the Senate floor she will NOT support this change.

Hey Nancy and Chuckie, try reading the constitution. This doesn't come close to passing muster.

I'm guessing none of those "moderate Democrats," (you know, the ones that will probably lose their seats in November) wised up and opposed this legislation. Our Democratic Republic is on a thread, and it seems that Machin and Sinema (a suprise there) are the only threads left to one-party, autocratic rule.
Of course, none of those moderates (including the two above mentioned Senators) stood up to decry those two phon-baloney impeachments of President Trump or the Pelosi witch-hunt January 6th commission. Which leads me to believe that there are no honest or fair Democrats left. And as for Manchin and Sinema, I'm worried that both of them will be encouraged/bought/forced to see the line. I wouldn't be suprised to see somebody like Sen. Pierre Delecto (Romney) play the role of Liz Cheney in the Senate as a useful "bi[-partisan" fool.

I think it's time for Manchin and Sinema to tell Chuckie and Joey to get off their Backs or they are going to jump ship and join with the Republicans! How would you like that!! That would put Manchin and Sinema in charge from here on in! One wrong move and they Jump! Would make things interesting!

I wonder how many who aren’t really sure what a filibuster is, what it means, its importance, did not read the explanation of all that in this article? A civics lesson from the UK - it won’t be seen in our MSM, where it’s important to keep us in the dark.

They did not "Pass the Bill" they bypassed even voting on it...instead, added it by amendment into a previously passed NASA funding Bill.
"Democrats merged the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act into a single text and crammed the new bill into previously passed legislation extending NASA’s authority to lease its facilities.
Because the so-called “shell” NASA bill already cleared the House and Senate, Democrats can kick-start debate on the Senate floor without Republican support.
“We will have the ability to proceed to the legislation and debate it on a simple majority basis, something that’s been denied to us four times in the last several months because Republicans didn’t want to move forward,”(and because it is AGAINST THE RULES, and AGAINST THE LAW)

If the Voting Rights Bill were so great and wonderful it would pass on it's own merits and not need to be disguised and repackaged as a NASA bill and rerun through the House to go back to the Senate to be voted on. The Senate couldn't pass the bill as is or do their filibuster work around so they try another trick to get to get it through. Now, by some legal but unethical paperwork tricks, the Democrats think they have found another workaround rules they don't like. This too will fail. Let's hope that Republicans, some Democrats, and some in the media call them out on their back handed tactics with this trick.
