First Lady Jill Biden declined the opportunity to get a little wild on Saturday afternoon when she was offered a shot of alcohol by the owner of a bar she was having lunch at. The educator, 70, dodged a possible hangover the day before her husband, President Joe Biden, gets to work dealing with the concerning new COVID-19 Omicron variant. The first lady had gone on an afternoon shopping spree throughout downtown Nantucket on Saturday, walking the cobblestone sidewalks with a five-car motorcade and a gaggle of grandkids in her wake.

Walnut Creek police and city officials warned businesses Sunday that the same group of thieves that targeted a Nordstrom at Broadway Plaza on Saturday night may try to steal from shops again in the next few days.
