I suggested last week that negative stories about Kamala Harris that ran on CNN and over at Politico were surely planted by the Biden political staff at the White House, but I’m not sure whether the same can be said about today’s much more savage story in The Telegraph: “With Kamala Harris looking unelectable, the Democrats are considering the nuclear option.”
Unlike the Daily Mail, which sensationalizes news from the U.S. in tabloid style—though it must be said that it is often reporting stories the U.S. mainstream media avoids—The Telegraph is a staid broadsheet. Thus, some of the content of this story is all the more astounding for the panic

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), who previously served as White House physician under Barack Obama and Donald Trump, has a disturbing theory about the Omicron variant.
On Saturday, Jackson suggested that Democrats will use the Omicron variant to push for universal mail-in voting for the 2022 midterm elections and save their party from an electoral bloodbath next year.
“Here comes the MEV – the Midterm Election Variant!” Jackson tweeted. “They NEED a reason to push unsolicited nationwide mail-in ballots. Democrats will do anything to CHEAT during an election – but we’re not going to let them!”
Reaction to the Omicron variant has been mixed. Some countries, including the United States,

We’ve heard of people with stinky feet taking off their shoes. We have heard of people listening to music or watching a movie without headphones. We’ve heard of people with “emotional support falcons.” But I promise you, this is a new one for us all.According to Newsweek, a woman on a recent flight between Syracuse, NY, and Atlanta, GA decided to give all of her fellow passengers a sight to see. The woman attempted to swaddle and breastfeed her cat. Yes, you read that right. Even worse is that after she was requested by flight personnel to put the cat and her breast away, she refused. From Newsweek:

President Joe Biden on Monday urged Americans to get vaccinated or get their booster shots amid warnings about the spread of the Omicron variant–but insisted that the infectious new variant was not a cause for 'panic' and said no new restrictions were needed.
'We'll fight this variant with scientific and knowledgeable actions and speed, not chaos and confusion,' Biden said at the White House.
But even amid the pressing nature of the new variant, Biden misstated the name of the variant. 'It's called the Omnicron,' he said, inserting an extra 'n'–an error his coronavirus advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was standing in the background, also committed.

Gov. Charlie Baker expects a state-sanctioned COVID-19 vaccination passport program to be implemented in Massachusetts and several other states soon. During an appearance on GBH News' Boston Public Radio, Baker said a scannable quick response code, commonly known as a QR code, would show a person's vaccination status and be made available for others to scan and verify. "It's a universal standard and we've been working with a bunch of other states, there's probably 15 or 20 of them, to try to create a single QR code that can be used for all sorts of things where people may choose to require a vaccine," Baker said

The White House does not have any plans to preview "at this point in time" for President Biden to visit Waukesha, Wis. after the Christmas parade attack earlier this month. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday was asked why the president has not yet visited Waukesha, after 39-year-old Darrell Brooks Jr. allegedly plowed through a crowd of innocent people attending a Christmas parade there, killing six people including an 8-year-old boy and injuring dozens more."As you saw the president convey last week, our hearts go out to this community, to the people in Waukesha that we've been in touch, obviously, with officials there,"

Leonardo DiCaprio may have sold his beachfront Malibu mansion for a healthy profit but much like his Wolf Of Wall Street character, he is saying: 'I ain't going anywhere!' The 46-year-old Oscar winner - who owns two additional properties in the affluent beach city - has sold his private, ocean-facing property in the exclusive Carbon Beach community for $10.3 million which is $300,000 above the asking price according to TMZ on Monday. The A-lister put the property on the market in September as the home has proved to be one smart investment, as the star originally picked the three bedroom, two bathroom abode up for $1.6million in 1998.

A CNN panel made a variety of excuses for President Biden’s sagging approval rating on Sunday, from the media not doing enough to sell his agenda to the notion of people putting "feelings" over facts. On Reliable Sources," host Brian Stelter asked The Editorial Board columnist Magdi Semrau why the "link" between Biden and his agenda is "broken." Semrau asserted the media is not doing a "particularly great job" of relaying Biden’s agenda to the American public." However, the columnist also argued that American dissatisfaction with the president has to do with the pandemic and inflation,

Walnut Creek police and city officials warned businesses Sunday that the same group of thieves that targeted a Nordstrom at Broadway Plaza on Saturday night may try to steal from shops again in the next few days.
While the thievery threat is unconfirmed, and a specific location and time remain unknown, police who are “actively monitoring intelligence” said in a community tweet that businesses “may consider closing early or taking other precautions … out of an abundance of caution.”
According to the tweet, the Walnut Creek police are calling out additional officers and reserves.

The gender pay gap is rooted in the issue of 'greedy jobs', rather than sex discrimination, gender bias or a glass ceiling, a Harvard economics professor has claimed. Claudia Goldin, who taught Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, outlines her argument in her new book, Career & Family, which draws on research to show that highly-paid 'greedy jobs' in City law, banking and politics force women to choose between their careers and families once they become mothers. The term 'greedy job' describes 'a certain type of "beck and call" job, which pays over the odds for extensive travel, unpredictable, inflexible hours and demanding client facetime,' The Times explains.
