The protester Jacob Chansley, better known as the "QAnon shaman" from the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol , was sentenced to 41 months in prison plus the time he has already served while awaiting his court trial on Wednesday. Chansley, a 34-year-old Arizona resident, was arrested days following the riot and was indicted on six charges, two of which were felonies. He struck a plea deal with the government and pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to a single count of obstruction of an official proceeding.

I seem to recall that this guy is an actor who dressed up in this costume. If he was trying to attract attention, that was a success. But exactly what did he do? The article describes psychological diagnoses that are pretty heavy. The charges are pretty slim, IMO.

What was the official proceeding he obstructed, and how does it warrant more than 3 years in Federal prison?
They made an example of this guy because he dressed up in his little circus suit, and was recognizable.

Of course he is. But. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/colorado/articles/2021-11-15/5-teens-hospitalized-after-shooting-near-denver-area-school 6 teens shooting each other is just fine. No one shooting, rioting, looting, pushing someone in front of a train or punching an unsuspecting white old person in the face will EVER spend a day in jail. But, step onto the congress floor and you MUST spend time in prison.
When Repubs take back the house and senate next year we REALLY need to place Pelosi and all her ignorant minions in the DC jail and let them rot there until we maybe remember them sometime in 2030. Also AOC who, if you remember was so worried that she was going to be raped (as if anyone ever would) or killed a half mile away from the capitol that day. I sure am glad our leaders have such great courage in the people they represent. S/O

My god. He didn’t hurt anyone or break anything, just looked like a doofus in that getup spouting hot-air threats and for that he gets four years! When I see those BLM and antifa rioters and burners get convictions and prison time I’ll be a little more impressed with our justice system.

Something is very wrong here. This person was allowed to walk into the Capitol and leave a note on Pence's desk. This is a set up orchestrated by the Democrats, the FBI, and Antifa thugs to change the subject from the Democrats having stolen the election.

Ridiculously harsh sentence. For comparison, a good friend of mine was killed by a drunk driver who had been convicted several times before for DWI. He fled the scene of the collision and later turned up at a hospital saying he was in a motorcycle accident. He was convicted of killing my friend and was sentenced to 18 months. That's all. Free to kill again before his widow could stop crying.

#6 Very sad, but if he was a repub he would still be in jail. If he was dem I am surprised he went to jail at all. In this country there no longer is "justice for all" there is just "punishment for repubs" Criminals are set free to harm again but if you walk on the floor of "the peoples house" you are put in jail.

I can’t wait for our trip to Russia this summer to remind myself what sanity feels like.

Remember, the Capitol police let most of these people in by opening the doors.

I saw this wacko outside the capitol building on jan 6. He had a bull horn and spoke like nancy pelosi about going in and dragging people out by thier hair and burning the place down. The patriots were yelling him down, like "ur on your own freak" or "good luck with that freak" . I just ignored him, thought he was a freak, and referred to him as horny guy. He was the only one i heard that day speaking or acting violent. I listened to all of Trumps speech and by the time i got to the capitol grounds it was all just kum ba ya. It was a joyful day till i got back to my room and heard the leftist narrative on the news a d got sick to my stomach.

Not any kind of a supporter for this dingbat, but I don't see that he did anything significant beyond trespassing, and perhaps disturbing the peace, both minor misdemeanors, often given 30 days in the county slammer or a fine and walk.

Cripes, the government has been trying to get one of Trump's hotel maids to turn on him for telling them to tear off those "Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Federal Law" tags off his hotel mattresses. They'll make this 41-month sentence look like a weekend on work release.

Be careful that the FBI doesn't find you, #10. Just being there is now considered a serious criminal act, apparently.

This guy should have been placed on Blackman's "Worst Dressed List" (along with Cher and Megan Thee Stallion) and fined for tresspassing or disturbing the peace.

Could some legal eagle please explain to people what was this poor guy's "role in the January 6 riot".
Seems a bit sadistic to have this man incarcerated for 41 months!!!!!!!!!!
