A 24-hour San Francisco grocery store will now be closing early due to excessive thefts at night, joining other retailers that have been forced to alter their hours due to rampant stealing. The Safeway grocery in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco has moved from operating 24 hours a day to closing from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., KPIX reported. (Snip) This decision by the Castro Safeway comes less than a month after pharmacy retail giant Walgreens announced it would be closing some locations in San Francisco due to organized retail theft. No longer possible to have a normal, sane life in hellholes being disassembled by the leftist goons and their violent, lawless inner city thugs with the police ordered to stand down and not stop crime any more, and the prosecutors on permanent break, uninterested in prosecuting criminals any more. The Vigilance Committees are tuning up in the wings.

Food is already free thanks to food stamps and free meals in schools, and yet they steal food. Cell phones are free thanks to the so-called Obamaphones that were debuted by George W. Bush, and yet they steal cell phones.

At every turn, it appears Democrat politicians' seek to empower criminals at the expense of ordinary, law abiding Americans. When government is actively working against the interests of law abiding citizens, a reasonable person might ask what's in it for the politicians? How can they possibly win re election with their dismal records? They were to be stewards of their communities. But now their communities are more dangerous, less affluent, and the quality of life is in the toilet. Such irresponsibility throughout California almost seems to be by design.

New Jersey Race Surprisingly Close 1 reply

No one paid much attention to the New Jersey governor’s race because it’s now a deep-blue state (President Biden won it by 16 points), incumbent Phil Murphy isn’t particularly disliked and Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli is an unknown former Assemblyman. Murphy was expected to win by double digits, or high single digits. A bookmaker rated Murphy a 1/10 favorite in mid-October. So it’s a surprise that 10 o’clock came and the race was still too close to be called. With 40 percent of the vote counted in the famously well-managed state, Ciattarelli has a lead of about 5,o00 votes. A

The backlog of cargo containers making their way from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach saw widespread burglaries as they were carried on trains through an area of tracks lined by homeless encampments. Thousands of boxes were seen laying near the train tracks "as far as the eye could see" in Los Angeles’ Lincoln Park, NBC4 reported. A FedEx container and several others had their doors wide open and boxes tipping over. The area is lined by homeless encampments on either side of the tracks. The outlet also spotted two men jumping off of a moving train and

With the Virginia gubernatorial race just a day away, prominent Virginian political commentator Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball is changing its rating for the contest from ‘Leans Democratic’ to ‘Leans Republican.’ “Our sense is that the race has been moving toward [Republican nominee Glenn] Youngkin, in large part because of the political environment. Coal, a pariah fuel for climate activists, has made a quiet comeback this year in the post-lockdown economic resurgence. Coal stockpiles at power plants are getting so low that the regional electric grid operator, PJM Interconnection, has taken steps to prevent a system collapse this winter similar to Texas earlier this year. PJM, based near Valley Forge, this month imposed new rules on power plants in 13 states and the District of Columbia to make sure electricity generators do not run short of fuel during a cold snap. Nuclear energy provides 9% of U.S. energy, while renewable energy accounts for 12%.
