Of Useless People

Later this month, private- and public-sector “leaders” will meet in Glasgow, Scotland. Nearly all will fly to the conference, many in private jets. And what will they talk about? Saving the climate from greenhouse gas emissions, of course. The United Nations Conference of Parties on climate change, the 26th version of this long-running clown show, starts Oct. 31 and will run through Nov. 12. Media coverage will be both intense and obsequious; attendees, especially the ever-smug John Kerry, “special” climate envoy to the president, will speak in somber tones due to the seriousness at hand; warnings of impending doom will be issued; and absolutely nothing will be accomplished.

Useless people tend to do nothing more than hold meaningless meetings. They're intellectual shoplifters.

This is hardly “useless..” it is about instituting draconian control over the plebes. Increasing energy prices, eliminating natural gas, squashing private transportation (except for the elite’s Escalades, Tahoes and Maybachs, and of course the Gulfstreams) and ending the sale of beef, pork and other commodities. In other words, they want us DEAD.

Meaningless? They have a majority of young Americans and many others around the globe believing in their impending doom via planetary incineration, and a turn to global communism as the only solution and you think that's meaningless?

They will meet and talk about the "seriousness " of deadly climate change. John Kerry will lecture us. Maybe Greta will yell at us. Then they will get to their real agenda. Big parties, fancy meals, expensive hotels, entertainment, and congratulating each other for caring so much.

The article forgot to mention that the attendees will be shuttled around in a fleet of Teslas, which will be kept charged by rented DIESEL generators, thereby burning more fuel than if they had just used IC powered vehicles. Hypocrites, the whole damn green movement!

They have money and money is power. They are using this power to feed a young generation with the false view that people can control the climate. People can clean up the air , but they cannot do it while some nations are allowed to dirty it while other nations attempt to clean it. They cannot clean it with windmills and solar panels either.

Pursuant to a recent article, "In 2019, China's emissions not only eclipsed that of the US - the world's second-largest emitter at 11% of the global total - but also, for the first time, surpassed the emissions of all developed countries combined... When added together, GHG emissions from all member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD), as well as all 27 EU member states, reached 14,057 MMt CO2e in 2019, about 36 MMt CO2e short of China's total." So, do you think China just doesn't know? They're too stupid to know what they are saying? No, I don't. China has a lot of very smart people, and I suspect they've looked at what is being said, and concluding a different conclusion. Which means someone may not be telling the truth about the "dire" condition of the global cooling, global warming, climate change numbers.

More style over substance. Travel, hold a press conference, take a few pictures looking "concerned", and head for home.

New York City has reverted to a pre-Giuliani-era "Shattered" urban hellhole, with crime, homelessness, rats, and garbage completely out of control. What is New York's City Hall concerned about? But of course: Removing a statue of Thomas Jefferson, given that as an 18th century grandee of his time in Virginia, he owned slaves by inheritance. According to the New York Post: A city commission voted to remove the statue of Thomas Jefferson from the City Council chamber by the end of the year — though the body is still debating where to send the monument to the Founding Father.

Is there anything Democrats can't do ... to kill off America's innovators and entrepreneurs? Sure as heck not, given their latest sneaky plan to discourage small -- and I mean really small -- business. According to Jessica Pate, writing at Issues & Insights: The INFORM Consumers act would impose new requirements and burdens on the millions of people who run small businesses. Similar bills introduced in more than a dozen state legislatures are generally supported by big-box retailers eager to siphon online money back to their stores. Lawmakers should reject them all.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who it turns out has been away on family leave these past months as America's supply chain has collapsed, has finally come out of the woodwork. Did he come out to announce how he's making the situation better? Nope, what brought him out was some harsh, criticism by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who asked if Missing Pete on family leave was trying to learn how to breast-feed. Yes, it was tasteless, but that's hardly a burning issue to anyone else but Pete, given his larger and more important point. According to Mediaite, the exchange went like this:

We’ve written before about the madness in the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), most recently when it comes to parents protesting LGBTQ pornography in the school system’s libraries. There’ve also been newsworthy moments when parents spoke out about Critical Race Theory in the school district. One of the most explosive moments occurred when the school board, tired of having angry parents (i.e., voters) yell at them, called the cops, with several arrests, including that of one man getting physically dragged out. It now turns out that the man was protesting the fact that the school’s policies led to a boy in a skirt sexually assaulting his daughter

Is there any level of phoniness Kamala Harris can't demonstrate? Back when Joe Biden had disappeared during Afghanistan's collapse and was refusing to take phone calls from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Harris had a golden opportunity to step in and show leadership. But she had better things to do. What was she doing as Joe Biden went AWOL? Cocooning into her comfort zone, which was engaging in selfies and public relations. Call it her 'My Pet Goat' moment, except that it wasn't by accident. While Afghanistan was collapsing into terror and Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in chaos, she was busy making at least three space videos

Some of them do admit that — when they’re cornered. I’m thinking of Dan Crenshaw being confronted by an election truther at a fundraiser in August and telling the guy that he was kidding himself if he believed there was such widespread fraud that it flipped the result in multiple states. There’s a cohort of hardcore populists within the House GOP whose loyalty to Trump is such that they’ll eagerly parrot any conspiracy theory he likes but most GOP reps who are asked about this tend to mumble something noncommittal about “election integrity” and “unanswered questions” before changing the subject.
