Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer David Solomon said that inflation, particularly in wages, remains top of mind among corporate leaders and shareholders. “Inflation is a topic that is front and center with every investor that I talk to—and certainly with every CEO that’s running a business of any size or any scope,” Solomon said Friday in an interview with Bloomberg Television. “There is definitely inflation—we haven’t seen it in a while, and the question is what choices do we make from here.” Solomon’s comments follow similar concerns voiced this week by Bank of America Corp. CEO Brian Moynihan, Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman and Goldman President

Inflation is the money decreasing in value, not "prices going up". So, people want more of those increasingly worthless dollars for their constant value labor efforts. Not so complex, actually.

There is no wage inflation. What is going up is food, gas, and what it takes to live.

#2, wages increasing when prices are NOT increasing is good for the workers, they are richer. Wages increasing the same as prices of goods increasing is neutral, nobody gaining or losing. In the 80s and 90s prices increased far faster than wages. I remember my boss telling me that he was proud to give me an 8% raise. He was a bit displeased when I said, "So, I only get a 4% cut this year, because inflation was 12%." But he had to shake his head and say, "Well, I guess you're right, but it's better than nothing." And I agreed and thanked him very much and shook his hand. Could have been a lot worse, and was for most folks in those times.

One month into the programme, only half of eligible over-80s have received a third dose, despite being at heightened risk, NHS figures suggest. (Snip)'People were initially told that two doses were enough. They were in lockdown, and the vaccine was their ticket out of it. Now there's much less incentive.' Duncan Robertson, of Warwick University, said delays in administering the jabs will have to be 'resolved immediately' to avoid unnecessary pressures on the NHS. Nearly a year has passed since the 2020 election, yet there has not been a clear, satisfactory answer to the central mystery: How did a dull, declining Joe Biden manage to get more than 81 million votes and win the presidency? After all, Biden spent most of the pandemic-laced campaign in his Delaware basement and his appearances were marked by sparse crowds and signs he had lost more than a step. Yet he flipped five states Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, including Georgia and Arizona, and racked up 306 electoral votes to Donald Trump’s 232.
