Democrats cannot use their $3.5 trillion spending bill to give millions of immigrants a pathway to citizenship, the Senate´s parliamentarian ruled late Sunday in a crushing blow to the party's agenda. The decision by Elizabeth MacDonough, the Senate´s nonpartisan interpreter of its rules, is a potentially damaging setback for President Joe Biden, congressional Democrats and their allies in the pro-immigration and progressive communities. It badly damages Democrats´ hopes of unilaterally enacting - over Republican opposition - changes letting several categories of immigrants gain permanent residence and possibly citizenship

How long until Biden and Schumer demand the resignation of the Senate Parliamentarian for not being aligned with American values?

They couch in terms of it being a "Parliamentarian technicality", when in fact it would overturn Legislated Law, both the DACA and TPS laws are written precluding and forbidding ANY pathway to citizenship, or green card status. ANY change in the Law must be new or amended Legislation. Both programs are the opposite of "The Law", and only allow the suspension of deportation, nothing more.
They claim it would "Create 400,000 Jobs"...but giving green card status to 7.6 MILLION people that would then be allowed to TAKE American jobs...

The democrats don't care about 'rules'. They care about votes and votes outweigh rules every day of the week.
Keep in mind that in addition to the 15000 recent Haitians (a very small fraction of which will be going back to Haiti) there are at least 35 million illegals and visa overstays here now. The democrats only see 35 million (+) votes and running on "More Free Stuff - Vote For Me !!!". That will be very appealing to a very large number of these people who only have a 3rd grade education.

35 million illegals here now equals 10% of the US population.
That is a huge number and all potential Democrat votes.!

What makes anyone think the Marxists are going to follow the ruling of the Senate Parliamentarian? They disregard the Constitution every day.
I doubt this is a "crushing blow." The wretched libs are in complete control of the government, and it they want to fund immigration, no one can stop them. It wouldn't surprise me if this story is just a setup/diversion to give us the illusion we still have a fair system. I doubt "nonpartisan interpreter" and life long civil servant, Elizabeth MacDonough is defying the deep state. I'll bet she's doing exactly what she's told.
Maybe I am getting too cynical, but I think the Joe Manchin stories and this story of the "non-partisan" Senate Parliamentarian, who I didn't even know existed, are nothing but Kabuki Theater. They are lying, again.

Yeah, right. It's called a workaround and in any event, democrats are not accountable for wrongdoing and lawbreaking, as demonstrated clearly in the 2020 election.

That's the story for today. They cannot. I laugh. These evil cretins do whatever the heck they want to do. And, nobody can stop them.

The line about the dreamers' biggest effect on the bill is the amount of money they receive in benefits is what galls me. I truly don't mind most of them being here if they were brought here as kids 20 years ago. This is the only country they've known. I DO mind that they receive benefits. Clear the slate. Don't give them anything advantage that is not given to a citizen, and sure, I will entertain a path to citizenship.

The leftist and socialist Democrats are not stupid and had to know that it was improper to include such a massive amnesty for millions of illegal aliens that would extraneous to the stated purpose of the bill and would not be allowed by the Senate Parliamentarian. So you have to figure that the amnesty proposal was inserted in the overall bill to placate the Democrat left wing base.
One thing is for sure, the wimpy Republicans will never win another Presidential Election or control the Congress again, if the Democrats ever legalize the realistically over 20 million illegal aliens now in the USA, which would allow those legalized aliens to bring their foreign family members into the USA. No doubt that a few years later the Democrats would grant those legalized aliens US voting rights, which would make it a certainty that since mostly all illegal aliens are poor and uneducated people, with the leftist and socialist Democrats easily being able to effectively buy their votes by promising them all sorts of “free” government benefits and access to all sorts of government provided benefits and services including allowing foreign family members and foreign friends to stay in the USA. It’s for sure that the Democrats would not be push such amnesties if they ever thought that more than a small percentage of legalized aliens would ever vote for conservative Republicans.
There is one sure way to stop mass uncontrolled illegal immigration in its tracks. That is if the USA passed a constitutional amendment to the affect that aliens who entered the USA unlawfully, or who remained in the USA longer than permitted by the immigration laws, be deemed to be permanently ineligible for permanent resident alien status (become green card holders) or to attain naturalized US citizenship.

Got it...the Dems want illegals taking American jobs from American citizens... that's why the shut down has been so effective... the work force is underground now...and American citizens sit home with unemployment checks feeding their families...it's becoming more obvious with each passing day...it's all about a marxist takeover of America for the new world order crowd... they want one government ruled by the elites...like soros...with the help of the United Nations' boot on America's neck...America is TO free they say...WE the people must be crushed and stripped of our independence and free will....

If she had ruled in the Dems favor, the GOP could have gone to court with a good chance of winning, but it's still disturbing. The future of the country may have been resting in the hands of the senate parliamentarian; an unelected bureaucrat accountable to virtually no one. This country needs fixing; fast.

That's how they passed Obamacare. Also against the parliamentarian rules. So with the Democrats there are no rules.

Illegals don't necessarily need a path to citizenship, just a path to the voting booth. Simply being allowed to stay in the country will allow them that. Their extended family already here can show them how to vote democrat as they were shown.
