Italian GP: Ricciardo wins at Monza in
McLaren one-two finish

Australian Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix in a stunning McLaren one-two with Lando Norris at Monza on Sunday while Formula One title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton took each other out of the race. The victory was McLaren's first since 2012 and Ricciardo's first since he was at Red Bull in 2018. "About time," smiled the happy Australian. "To lead literally from start to finish, I don't think any of us expected that. "To not only win but to get a one-two, it's insane. For McLaren to be on the podium is huge." Ricciardo, now an eight times grand prix winner,

This long suffering F1 McLaren fan finally has reason to celebrate. Good for the folks at Woking, England. I wish I could afford one of their passenger cars, say, a 765LT. or a P1. F1 from leading team to last is more competitive than it used to be. Excellent!

Just saw it. Nice race. Nice win for Ricciardo. Kind of humorous how Hamilton and Verstappen took each other out. Neither would give an inch so they wrecked instead. Could do without the woke message at the beginning of the race. Would like to think most of the drivers participated in the public service announcement because they did not want to risk losing their rides, but probably not the case. Indy cars race later this evening.

I've been a Ferrari F1 fan and a devotee of the marque since the age of 10. Mattia Binotto was good as Chief Technical Officer for the Scuderia, but appears out of his depth as Team Principal. I think Lewis Hamilton is probably one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time, but he lost me when he climbed aboard the Marxist BLM train. All of that said, it is refreshing to see someone besides Hamilton or Verstappen win. I really like Lando Norris; young, talented and a real hard-charger. First win for McClaren since 2012. Outstanding. These are my personal opinions, YMMV.

Missed the race, but Daniel is a great guy and I'm glad he won. I also think Hamilton is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. Max and Lewis taking each other out has been brewing for the last few races. Hamilton refused to budge in an earlier race and I think Max took himself out during that incident. Max has been looking for revenge ever since, but I don't think he intended this particular outcome.

Fabulous race, some of it reminded me of bumper cars as a kid. Hamilton was positioned to win when he and Max Verstappen tangled. Great race for Bottas, started last and finished third. Big congrats to Ricciardo, Norris and McClaren!

I just was never able to identify with those uber expensive exotic foreign cars. But was all in for many years of American muscle crag racing. NHRA has for decades been a great family sport venue. Sadly it seems to be slowly disappearing.

Ricciardo earned the front row spot, and made an absolutely perfect start to take the lead, and never give it up. Bottas did an outstanding job, but benefitted from a new engine on a track where horsepower is critical. Hamilton crashed out Verstappen , and this time, didn't get away with it, got caught himself. Lewis is such an arrogant prima donna jerk and can't let someone pass him, or even just act like a professional and fairly outdrive a competitor rather than smacking him off of the road. Hamilton is just a jerk. Yes, he's very talented, but like his idol Senna, he's an obnoxious child at times on the track. Senna was famous for crashing out rivals to win. Three or four years ago, when Verstappen was a literal teenager in an F1 car, he made this sort of errors in judgement, but he has greatly matured and rarely makes these sort of arrogant, destructive moves. Hamilton is nearing retirement and should know and behave better.

Liberal Jewish outlets and the liberal media are charging Donald Trump with anti-Semitism, on the basis of his recent remarks to Israeli journalist Barak Raviv: (Snip) The line about “absolute power over Congress” is cringeworthy. Yes, it is an anti-Semitic trope. Trump fits the canonical definition of a philo-Semite (an anti-Semite who likes Jews). He harbors some anti-Semitic prejudices about the extent of Jewish power. But he’s still a friend of the Jewish people and of the State of Israel. Before the 2016 election, an Israeli politician asked me what I thought of Trump (full disclosure: I worked for Ted Cruz in 2016). I said,

New York’s top ethics panel on Tuesday ordered disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo to pay the state $5.1 million in book profits he made on the backs of taxpayers amid the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The extraordinary resolution was approved by the Joint Commission on Public Ethics in a 12-1 vote — a month after the ethics agency voted to revoke its prior approval allowing Cuomo to earn outside income from his book “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic” while he was still governor and New York was in the throes of the deadly coronavirus outbreak. The lone dissenter was William Fisher, a Cuomo appointee.

Most of you whippersnappers were not even Planned Parenthood targets back when inflation was last a thing. It was the late-seventies, which you people associate with funky clothing and disco music. Most of us who lived through that miserable decade associate it with economic malaise, notably including massive inflation and 18% interest rates. Yeah, think about 18% interest, all you folks with an adjustable rate loan. You’re spoiled by cheap money and low inflation. You are about to learn a lesson in economics. See, when Uncle Sucker prints lots of money and there are fewer things to buy, you get inflation. Prices rise. And your standard of living falls.
