A Washington Post column published Sunday was slammed by critics for blaming the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan on the American people, rather than the actual perpetrators of the violence unfolding across the war-torn country. "If you ask me who is to blame, I would point not only to Biden but to former president Donald Trump — and to all of us, the people of America. By carrying out this pell-mell withdrawal from Afghanistan, our leaders, after all, were only giving us what we wanted," columnist Max Boot wrote. But we are to blame. Every last one of us. Republicans. Democrats. Independents. We all let this happen and now the tribes will blame the other tribes. But make no mistake about it……WE all allowed this to go on. Maybe for different reasons and motives, but we let this continue for 20 years and we all knew it was wrong.

What about the wastington post? He works there at some government propaganda job. Was he able to allocate a percentage of blame to the wa compost? Did he mention that organization’s culpability? It must be nice to be in the finger pointing business and thus never have to have the finger pointed at you.

I am NOT responsible. I did not get the US into a gulf war for the purpose of saving the ruling class in Saudi Arabia. I did not order troops to the Middle East. I supported a legitimate (Trump) president who had a plan to leave, a plan that would not have put American or allies lives in danger, turned thousands of terrorists free from prison, given the best military equipment to terrorists. But heaven help us if he makes a tweet that offends some two bit politician. For the record, I served as a navy doc, with the Marine Corps. I do not like the acting president allowing my fellow Marines to be sacrificed for his incompetence. You want to take blame for Afghanistan, take it. I will let you have it.

The real blame falls on the "freedom loving" Afghans, that race of mighty warriors and rug merchants, that surrendered the field in the face of an inferior foe to assume a fetal position while a well-known evil manifested itself. In a scene from Monty Python these brave patriots could clearly be heard to cry "Run away! Run away!" Meanwhile, their US-concocted government emulated their Washington sponsors by stuffing suitcases with cash and fleeing responsibility.

Uzbekistan is warning the U.S. that Afghan pilots trained by American forces who fled to the Central Asian country after the Taliban took over in Afghanistan may face expulsion. Hundreds of Afghan service members fled to Uzbekistan aboard dozens of U.S.-supplied planes and helicopters, along with families and colleagues, after the Taliban seized control of the capital city of Kabul earlier this month. Uzbekistan, however, is now urging the U.S. to extract those Afghan pilots to a different country to avoid clashes between them and the Taliban, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing officials. President Joe Biden received praise from an unlikely source on Tuesday: Ann Coulter. Biden had just concluded his address to the nation on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, ending a war that had lasted 20 years. The president has been criticized for failing to anticipate the rapid crumbling of Afghan security forces in the face of the Taliban’s advance. That caused a chaotic scene at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, where the U.S. military hurried to evacuate more than 123,000 Americans and Afghans despite being surrounded by the Taliban and ISIS-K.

I ask this question for two reasons: I have seen enough videos and read about enough officer-civilian interactions to know that the act of subduing a lethal threat requires several rounds. If an intruder entered my home and threatened my wife and child, I would shoot until I was able to ensure the target was immobilized. As to the first statement, there are plenty of examples of police officers firing multiple shots at a suspected threat. In the past year, the American public has been thoroughly able to parse through the shootings of criminals like Breonna Taylor and Antonio Brown, to name just two examples.
