So why did the Capitol Hill cop come out?

Original Article

After months of supposed hiding, the Capitol Hill cop who shot unarmed pro-Trump protestor Ashli Babbitt at the Capitol, Lt. Michael Byrd has come out of the woodwork to talk about his shooting, in a softball interview with NBC's Lester Holt. Which is weird stuff, given that for months his identity had been concealed, by investigators, Congress, and other supposed watchdogs, on the grounds that revealing it to angry Trump supporters was too dangerous, and whose investigative conclusions excused him from accountability. Now he's come out -- telling Lester Holt of his great heroics. He doesn't even need to, having been exonerated repeatedly. The most likely reason is this lawsuit,

In the excerpt I saw, Byrd’s answers seemed rehearsed. Lester Holt is chronically biased. So, my bet is this was a staged event, as opposed to an interview.

I noticed his bad body language watching segments from this interview. He also came across as not being smart. For him to shoot a 5'2" 125lb woman with her back turned and not having any visible weapon and without giving any warning is worse than the Floyd fiasco. Let's face it, the only thing he has going for him is his skin color. This is an open and shut case. This was stone cold murder in the second degree and the husband and family of Ashli Babbit should sue the U S Capitol Police for millions.

After viewing the video of this shooting, no reasonable person could conclude that there was an imminent threat of deadly force about to be used against the shooter or a third party. Therefore, this is a bad shoot and murder, plain and simple. In any legitimate law enforcement agency, he would be fired and likely prosecuted for murder.

I saw the entire video that was circulating several weeks ago. It is crystal clear that he initiated the encounter. Babbitt was not a threat to him or anyone else. She did not have a weapon to discharge. Byrd took the initiative and took an unprovoked shot at her. Why didn't he shoot one of the men? Why did he find an unarmed woman to be such a threat? He's guilty as they come. Politics is protecting him. If he had done this in a 7-11 he would be up on murder charges.

Remember that this is the Einstein who left his police weapon on a bathroom windowsill and evidently didn't miss it for hours, when another officer found it. Pictures of him in the House chamber on January 6th show him holding his pistol in an extremely unsafe manner, with his finger on the trigger. I think there's a good possibility that the shot went off by accident, due to his carelessness. His superiors would then have to explain how he was allowed back on duty after his first foul-up. And of course his demographic couldn't be allowed to look bad.

He aimed for her from where he was hiding and got her in her left shoulder (coroner’s report), an often life-threatening injury because of blood vessels in that area.

I've never seen Mr Holt-even for 5 seconds; never watched any interview by him. Now I know why. Holt fed leading questions to this dodgy character on HIS suffering racism and victimisation. This deluded 'hero' responded with proclamations of himself, by himself, as a profile in courage --saving America from an unarmed vet, invited into a taxpayer- funded property. He falsely claimed that he issued commands, which he expected Ashli to obey--so it;s her fault. We've all seen the footage: he said nothing. Ashli probably never saw him , as he was hiding like bin Biden, and scurried into the darkness like a roach. His demeanour was shambolic and untrustworthy. Is he really a victim ...of his paymasters, chuck schemer, nazti peloser and dozens of other manipulators?

It’s not like the transitionary inflation that’s not transitionary, the stagnating jobs market, the border crisis, and the off-putting woke-ism are new to the scene. But perhaps ironically, given foreign policy was supposed to be Biden’s area of expertise (lol), the deadly disaster in Afghanistan has represented a turning point for the president. A controversial Texas law that bars abortions at six weeks went into effect early Wednesday morning after the Supreme Court and a federal appeals court failed to rule on pending emergency requests brought by abortion providers. The lack of judicial intervention means that the law -- which is one of the strictest in the nation and bans abortion before many people know they are pregnant -- goes into force absent further court intervention. The law allows private citizens to bring civil suits against anyone who assists a pregnant person seeking an abortion in violation of the ban. No other six-week ban has been allowed to go into effect -- even briefly,

Last Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Kabul, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest as American troops at Abbey Gate were processing entrants to Hamid Karzai International Airport. Nearly 200 people died at that horrific moment, including 13 U.S. service members. It was a horrific massacre that didn’t need to happen. There is only one person to blame, and that is Joe Biden — not for his decision to leave Afghanistan, but instead his stubborn insistence on leaving the country on a specific date. It is a stubbornness rooted in negligence, not incompetence, a word often thrown around as reasoning for his failure at this moment.

Joe Biden was telling America in July that the Taliban weren’t going to take over Afghanistan, that no one could have known that was going to happen. He maintains that no one told him differently, a claim we’ve already shown was a lie as he received a cable in June from officials in the State Department indicating that there was a likelihood that the Taliban would take over quickly once the U.S. pulled out at the end of August. The United States officially ended its 20-year war in Afghanistan. Now, President Joe Biden and fellow Democrats are racing to put the conflict’s tumultuous exit behind them. Consumed with combating the most intensive crisis of Biden’s presidency over the last few weeks, White House officials are plotting a way forward that hinges tactically on Biden’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and passage of his sweeping economic agenda on Capitol Hill. The cold political calculation is based on a belief inside the White House that Americans by and large will ultimately process the withdrawal from Afghanistan as a necessary, albeit difficult, act, even if they harbor lingering doubts about its execution.

If an intruder entered my home and threatened my wife and child, I would shoot until I was able to ensure the target was immobilized. As to the first statement, there are plenty of examples of police officers firing multiple shots at a suspected threat.
