“The Science says.” The phrase has become one of the most popular mottos in the popular discourse of our day. Science—with hard facts and without fallacies or errors—has become a knockout argument for any policy discussion. When Science says something, we should immediately end our debate—regardless of whether the point of discussion is the coronavirus, climate change, or some other economic policy. The Science has spoken

I read somewhere that they bury 250,000 medical mistakes every year. Amazing that a politician can prescribe what is good for you, but your doctor has to send you out for tests for 6 months, then can only say he didn't see anything.

I have studied science for my entire life, starting in grade school, and finishing up my official studies in grad school. And then I started studying MORE. In the last ten years of my employment, I put together and managed research science projects in four former soviet states, and visited about three dozen of their highest scientific research instututes, seeking viable research project topics. I managed about six projects per year for that time period....and put together many more that never got funded. In all of that I was exposed to a LOT of science, much of it biosciences, lots of physics, chemistry and more. And all of that time, I have had to beware of the charlatans who pretend to be scientists and are really just scammers. The politicians are the worst of the lot, perverting science for political ends. And in the last 20+ years or more, the funding has been warping science, defunding politically unpopular actual science in favor of politically useful FAKE science. The once fabulous magazine of science Scientific American which I subscribed to for decades, is now just another political tool, shilling for fake science, leftist totalitarianism. I know science, and huge swaths of what is being sold for science today is NOT. Dr. Fraud is a perfect example. 80% of what he says are pure lies, the rest are tidbits of science fact use as to bait his traps of fraud and lies.

There is true science, which is open minded and amenable to new data and information, and then there is Nazi science, which is rigid and must be blindly accepted - state-controlled science that no one is permitted to question. or else.

It wasn't so long ago that "Science says" the universe was in a "steady state" and had been here for eternity. Yes, that was what the Wizards of Science told us to think, along with 'Spontaneous Generation' of life, and other fallacies. In medicine it was thought that the best way to cure an illness was through "bleeding" the patient. Who needs all that extra blood anyway? Today, Medical Science finds it less messy to instead "bleed" taxpayers through Federal Research Grants, etc. Reasonable people mustn't accept all that 'science' today propounds, since most of it is marketing propaganda designed to increase project funding.

Recall that the French revolution was to show the world how a "scientific" country works better. They came up with the metric system, where everything is based on 10, and the "Committee of Public Safety", which was based on the guillotine.

Reading DVC's response (Reply 2) I concur with his view on the Scientific American magazine. That's worth a second look. It was once a fabulous magazine and is now just more political fodder. How did that happen? Was the entire staff replaced? Is this just the new face of hard science? Will the next special September issue be on the "wonders" of gender?

Good article. Science has become a religion, complete with followers and scientists have become its high priests. We are like the natives on an island. The volcano is threatening to erupt and destroy us all, so we turn to the high priests who declare we have been bad and must be inoculated with magic juice to satisfy the volcano god and stop driving our cars and cooling our homes to ward off the wrath of the storm god. The tribal chief grunts in deference and pays the priest under the table, ordering his warriors to make the people comply.

Stalin and Lenin used Darwin's theory to justify Communism. At that time Darwin's theory was new and often misinterpreted to justify lots of things in the name of "science". I've read that Wilson progressives used it as did Margret Sanger and Hitler.

I was a long time subscriber to Scientific American until about 1995 when I threw the magazine down in disgust at a brazenly political article. Many more followed in subsequent issues and by the time my subscription ran out I was just moving it directly from mailbox to trashcan.

Nobel Prize-winning economist F.A. Hayek made clear, this supremacy of scientific inquiry is not only misguided, but is in fact also a perversion of what science’s actual purpose is. It is science gone off the rails. Yup. I remember reading MD and writer Michael Crichton's essay about why consensus in science is NOT science. See: Aliens Cause Global Warming. When we hear "Follow The Science," what they mean is "agree with me or I will call you a terrorist."

We have very little 'REAL SCIENCE' today. Most of the 'Science' is JUNK and is nothing but Leftist Idiot PhD's (Piled Higher and Deeper) putting on their knee pads begging for the next Grant Handout. My Solution is to cut off ALL Grants to any University that has Commies as Professors...that's step 1...further steps are to shut down all Leftist organizations including the supposed Press.

The headline is logical. Science can tell us what but cannot tell us why. Science can tell us what but cannot tell us any use of the scientific "fact". Thus, human thought and decision are the logical guardians of science.

In Afghanistan, the mission failure appears complete. The trillion-dollar project to plant Western democracy in a Muslim nation historically fabled for driving out imperial intruders has crashed and burned after 20 years, and the Taliban are suddenly back in power. After investing scores of billions in training and arming a force of 350,000 Afghani troops, the U.S. could not stand up an army and a government that could survive our departure. And the final U.S. departure from Hamid Karzai International Airport may become, like JFK’s Bay of Pigs, a synonym for American debacle.

Are they still protesting in Cuba? I don’t know. The Cuban government has shut off the Cuban people’s internet. The big demonstrations began four weeks ago, sparked, curiously, by a rap song. The key lyric is: “Freedom! No more Doctrine!” “Doctrine” refers to the “constant cycle of propaganda” from the government, explains Cuban emigre Alian Collazo in my newest video. Sadly, silly TV reporters in America claimed the protests were about “hunger, pandemic restrictions and the lack of COVID vaccinations,” or, according to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, “food and fuel shortages.”

Rand Paul, R-Ky., in which he discusses face masks and COVID-19. YouTube also banned Paul from its platform for a week. “We removed content from Senator Paul’s channel for including claims that masks are ineffective in preventing the contraction or transmission of COVID-19, in accordance with our COVID-19 medical misinformation policies,” YouTube said in a public statement. Notably, YouTube’s policy cites the World Health Organization and “local authorities” as its source of what’s correct about COVID-19.

When my family and I contracted COVID last November and December, we sighed that at least we wouldn’t need to get vaccinated. We need not worry about investigating which of the experimental vaccines we might reluctantly consider injecting into our bodies, especially the non-conventional mRNA-based vaccines (i.e., Pfizer and Moderna), which are quite new and quite concerning. But hey, at least we were contributing to the herd immunity that the nation and world were eagerly racing toward. (Yes, you can thank us for our suffering.)

Victimizers quickly becoming victims is a recurrent theme of Thucydides’ history. In his commentary on the so-called stasis at Corcyra, he offers his most explicit warning about the long-term dangers of destroying legal institutions, customs, and traditions that serve the common good for short-term gain. The historian notes that in the inevitable yin and yang of politics, the destroyers inevitably will seek, but do so in vain, refuge in what they have destroyed.

A second bomber detonated his device outside the Baron Hotel, near the airport’s perimeter. It remains unclear whether any Americans were killed in that blast.

One of the most effective ways for the MSM to shut down an inquiry into misconduct is to say it is all a conspiracy theory. Besides avoiding an unwanted discussion, the charge also invites scrutiny of the "theorist" instead of the issue itself. Notice how quickly some even start off saying something like "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but..." Expecting their reaction, we have become almost trained to do this. But are there really no big conspiracies? It has been claimed that the phrase "conspiracy theory" was invented by the government to discourage the questioning of official explanations for important events, especially the JFK assassination.
