The Defense Department attempted Wednesday to console veterans of the 20-year war in Afghanistan Wednesday, reassuring those traumatized by the images of violence and despair emerging from that country this week that they were “not alone.”“Remember that what is happening now does not minimize or negate the experiences of all who served overseas,” the unsigned statement read. “Countless service members answered the call of duty and did what was asked of them.“Service is never for naught,” the statement continued.
In other words, Please don't think that the USA is now weak and your efforts and your dead brothers efforts were in vain... because they weren't. Really. So pretty please, with sugar on top, don't think they were in vain... but if you need to transition or get a line on some same sex action please call 1-800-555-BIDEN

Could these people be any more shameless? As if the horror of what's happening isn't bad enough, they multiply it by ignorant stunts like this. It has to be hard enough for those of relatively sound mind who volunteered and served with honor during this long mission. But what about the thousands who struggle with psychological problems that have them trapped in a daily hell, trying with all they have not to end it all? This is so infuriating.

Veterans Affairs sent them out as well. Got mine @ 7:32 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021. “Veterans from all eras are reacting to the events in Afghanistan, such as the U.S withdrawal and the takeover by the Taliban.
You are not alone.
Veterans may question the meaning of their service or whether it was worth the sacrifices they made. They may feel more moral distress about experiences they had during their service. It’s normal to feel this way. Talk with your friends and families, reach out to battle buddies, connect with a peer-to-peer network, or sign up for mental health services. Scroll down for a list common reactions and coping advice.” blah blah blah

Talk about pouring salt in the wound! This was Zippy's idea. He absolutely loathes the military, maybe more than he hates us.

I'm sure those war vets do not trust the Pentagon.

Oh, you are alone alright. Abandoned and alone. This is the first email you ever got from the Pentagon. It is because they have failed in a huge way --- busted their butts. The Pentagon don't care a whit about the vets. Trump took care of the vets, and nobody else ever did. The vets better all get MAGA caps, because you owe Trump a huge debt.

If I were a vet, I would send a message back to them. They wouldn't like it.
