The Problem With Peggy

Original Article

Peggy Noonan’s column in the Wall Street Journal on Saturday is a very clear exposé of the profound political division in America today. Her position is that Donald Trump is a deadly combination of crazy, dishonest, and incompetent, that there can be no possible question that he was and is unsuited to be president, and that he was unquestionably honestly defeated in the presidential election. More, he deliberately incited a violent assault upon the U.S. Capitol on January 6, his party is afraid of him even though his support is thin and diminishing, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s investigation into the events of January 6 must be pursued with energy

I quit paying attention to Trump Deranged morons like Noonan long ago. Some sort of a definite mental illness took over a number of folks who used to pretend to be conservatives. The good news is that they wrecked their careers and nobody pays any attention to them any more. Noonan is a prime example, but there are a dozen or two more.

Peggy, like the rest of the power mad establishment, rejects peace and prosperity in favor of chaos. Heath Ledger's Joker nails the thought process of those who seek to dominate others rather than letting them live as free individuals. Chaos keeps the masses in fear. Brave individuals are an impediment to their goals.

Conrad Black has effectively dissected Peggy Noonan for all to see. She wouldn’t make a pimple on a real Republican’s butt, and she never did. She was clueless about Obama, and performed journalistic fellatio on his behalf the whole time he occupied the White House. I’m still at a loss to understand why the Wall Street Journal pays her to write the useless drivel they print for her every Saturday.

FTA: The real problem for Noonan is that she begins to realize Trump’s support is not fading; the Republican Party is his party now, and she and the other NeverTrumpers have lost everything I can't speak for others but for me, NeverTrumpers are more despicable than Democrats. I despise what the Democrat party stands for but at least they are up front about who and what they are. Noonan and others like her claim to be conservative but have worked for the last few decades to make sure no true conservative succeeds. The Republican party has moved on from the likes of Peggy and her pals.

How the mighty have fallen. I can remember during Dubya's halcyon days when she was "Our Peggy" in these quarters, a brilliant, must-read writer with such insight...and now she's a female dog sell-out, Bettina Arnold!! If American government is founded on The People, then elections must be sacrosanct, kept as pure and honest as possible. History is full of American electoral shenanigans. But this is serious when 75 percent of those polled think the past TWO presidential elections were rigged. And what to do? #1 is to get involved in local politics. We elect these minor officeholders who hold the power to count your vote, or those who appoint the counters. And if the elections are all "fixed" you have nothing to lose anyways. Put aside the excuses...do something.

After denouncing the Trump administration for banning travel from China in 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, on Monday, CNN’s New Day actually promoted the notion of somehow imposing a travel ban on the state of Florida over a recent rise in COVID cases there. Joe Biden, emulating trendsetting blue state governors like California’s Gavin Newsom and New York’s Andrew Cuomo, recently has declared that by 2030, new car sales must be 50 percent zero-emission electric vehicles. The problem with this decree is that it violates the proverbial rule against the government picking winners and losers. It’s one thing for the government to subsidize energy research, or, for that matter, any pure research. Libertarian purists might object to that, but sometimes these public-private research partnerships can accelerate innovation and help keep American manufacturers competitive. It’s quite another thing, however, for the government to restrict what sort of technology powers our vehicles,
