Something’s fishy.
At least one doctor at the Cape Cod hospital that treated the lobsterman who claims he was nearly swallowed by a humpback expressed skepticism Saturday to The Post about the whale of a tale.
“He reportedly ascended from a 45-foot depth in 20 to 40 seconds and didn’t have any evidence of barotrauma?” scoffed the Cape Cod Hospital emergency room doc.
A person traumatized by such an encounter should expect more serious injuries,

That’s a mighty big chunk of crill.

Maybe, maybe not. Nothing like this has happened since Jonah because whales are super-sensitive and do not harm larger creatures unless attacked. Their senses have a range in miles so cloudy water is not a factor. The pressure change would not have affected the man in the least if the whale's mouth was sealed shut, just like being in a submarine. When diving at a depth of 45 feet, rapid ascention is harmless if you exhale on the way up to equalize the pressure in the lungs and ears.

Stranger things have happened. Biden and Harris won 81 million legal votes without so much as leaving their basement. Anything can happen!

Just point out that having too many rum and cokes and falling off the bar stool will also result in soft tissue damage.

It doesn’t sound fishy at all. Whales are mammals.

Must have lost his crack pipe in the fish fantasy, or maybe needed an excuse to tell the wife why he stumbled in at 4 A.M.

The ER doc knows nothing about 'barotrauma' from actual diving experience, clearly. Rising from 45 ft in 20 seconds is NOTHING significant as long as you exhale, as you are trained, while you do it. Frankly, I have done that in 10 seconds a few times without any injury or risk - unless you ignorantly fail to exhale while you do it. A truly embarrassingly ignorant comment by someone who imagines that he is an expert, and is not.
Whether the event actually happened, I have no particular opinion. But as to the ER doc, his uninformed comment show's he's an ignoramus on diving. I have been diving, free diving and SCUBA since the 7th grade in the Fla Keys, and have lots of cave and open ocean, and Fla spring diving experience for about 60 years.

Yeah, this is the year China Virus didn't come from a lab, our government is not responsible for UFOs, Biden won the vote, and a lobsterman got swallowed by a whale. Which one are you most likely to believe?

Perhaps he was drinking and found himself singing along to that B52's hit.... I got me a Chrysler as a big as a whale, and it's about to set sale.
