Jeff Greenfield: Divided GOP Civil War Is a Media Myth

Original Article

Watch or read the mainstream media news and a constant theme they have been promoting incessantly since the election (and well before that) is of a divided Republican Party engaged in a civil war. Well, longtime political reporter and Politico columnist Jeff Greenfield took a look at that claim and described it as wishful thinking hogwash. Although Greenfield dislikes Trump and had plenty to trash Republicans on, he has been around long enough to know how easily liberals can be deceived into the smug comfort of false hope by the media. The very title of his column published on Wednesday reflected that opinion, "A GOP Civil War? Don’t Bet On It":

Yes. But we are working hard to clean out the Cheney and Pierre Delecto, Paul Ryan backstabbing RINOs and corruptocrats. It will take some time.

75% of the American electorate said the past two Presidential elections were corrupt. 25% maintain Hillary won in '16 but for cheating. No one calls that fantasy in the pussy hat media. But the point is that the idea of corrupt elections has swept the land, undercutting the foundation of our democratic republic. "Moderate" Republicans/conservatives may have won the battle, dumping Trump. They also appear to have lost the war. Try running for office named Bush. Romney is a joke punch line. Flake...who was he? McCain is another fading memory, a man with nothing but a legacy of heroic self-importance. Larry "Chunky" Hogan? A political zero as a "conservative" in Maryland. Right down the list. Ironically, several were endorsed by PDT. The question is now whether the Republican party can purge itself of GOPe/UNIPARTY hacks. And beyond that, whether it can successfully operate in a less doctrinaire fashion than the Trumpista faction seems to demand.

I’m biased, because I know Antonio Garcia-Martinez and something like the same thing once happened to me, but the decision by Apple to bend to a posse of internal complainers and fire him over a passage in a five-year-old book is ridiculous hypocrisy. Hypocrisy by the complainers, and defamatory cowardice by the bosses — about right for the Invasion of the Body Snatchers-style era of timorous conformity and duncecap monoculture the woke mobs at these places are trying to build as their new Jerusalem.

A new report has found that Hollywood’s culture of bullying, abusive behavior, and employee mistreatment continues unabated despite high-profile scandals that have drawn widespread attention to the problem. Anita Hill’s Hollywood Commission reportedly released additional findings of its most recent survey on Friday, saying that assistants still bear the brunt of executive misbehavior, experiencing two to three times more bullying behavior than other types of workers. “Nowhere in Hollywood is the stark power differential more visible than between executives and their assistants. That dynamic drives higher levels of abuse among assistants across all kinds of entertainment work,” the study said, according to multiple reports.

As we previously reported, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) took out a building that they said contained Hamas military intelligence operation. It also contained offices for the Associated Press and Al Jazeera, among other media outlets. Prior to hitting the building, the IDF warned the media outlets and others in the building to get out before they took down the building. Some in media were upset that Israel took out the building. But as we noted, how could media not know that Hamas had an operation going on in the building, if they were sharing the building with them?

The New York Times has a remarkable story out this weekend that offers its typical “behind the scenes” construction of how the White House operates—in this case, under President Biden. While the story tries to soften the blows with lots of fluff and filler, it paints a devastating picture of Biden for the careful reader. It explains he has a quick temper, takes a long time to make decisions, and needs to be heavily propped up by staff to function. It reminds us that Biden is indeed a creature of the Senate, where he mostly attended hearings, made speeches, fiddled with legislation, and seldom made

A commander of a U.S. Space Force unit tasked with detecting ballistic missile launches has been fired for comments made during a podcast promoting his new book, which claims Marxist ideologies are becoming prevalent in the United States military. Lt Col. Matthew Lohmeier, commander of 11th Space Warning Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado, was relieved from his post Friday by Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting, the head of Space Operations Command, over a loss of confidence in his ability to lead, Military.com has exclusively learned. "This decision was based on public comments made by Lt. Israel isn’t playing around with Hamas this time around. While terrorist apologists plead for “proportionality” now that they’ve messed around and found out, the Jewish state seems determined to do more. As of last night, rockets were still being launched at Tel Aviv, signaling no end to the conflict in sight. Part of the IDF’s campaign has included destroying buildings that Hamas uses for intelligence-gathering, and command and control. Once, such building happened to also be an office complex for Al Jazeera, the Qatari-funded, terrorist propaganda outlet. The Associated Press also had space there. After multiple warnings and a “knock bomb,” the building was evacuated. Then this happened.

Joe Biden wants to present this image of himself as the congenial moderate who wants to unify everyone. As we’ve seen so far, his first few months have been anything but. It’s apparently not great for the folks working with him behind the scenes either. As we saw during the campaign, Biden lost his temper multiple times with voters and reporters, two groups you would think you’d be trying to court while you’re running, not yell or scream at. By a ratio of five to four, Americans blame President Joe Biden for the migration crisis, despite the White House’s desperate effort to shift blame to former President Donald Trump, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey. The national numbers — 50 percent to 41 percent— have turned bad for Biden largely because swing-voting independent voters blame Biden over Trump by 56 percent to 33 percent, according to the May 9-10 survey of 1,000 likely voters by Rasmussen Reports. But 21 percent of Democrats also blame Biden, while only 15 percent of Republicans blame Trump. Interestingly, the poll showed a minimal gap between men and women.

It’s this biased and corrupt. Consumer sentiment in the U.S. has unexpectedly decreased in the month of May, according to preliminary data released by the University of Michigan on Friday. The report showed the consumer sentiment index dropped to 82.8 in May from 88.3 in April. The decrease surprised economists, who had expected the index to rise to 90.4.

The military columnists in Israel understood that this meant the armored corps and artillery deployed near Gaza will attack, but the unclear notice led foreign reporters to report the beginning of a ground operation in Gaza. The CDC has finally bowed to reality, acknowledging that there is no reason for vaccinated people to wear masks indoors, let alone outdoors. Call me cynical, but my guess is the polling has gone South on mask mandates. People have had enough. Next thing you know, Joe Biden will take off his mask to celebrate his administration’s great victory over the coronavirus. Must have been those vaccines Biden was so instrumental in developing. As Scott reported this morning, Minnesota’s proto-fascist governor, Tim Walz, has revoked his state’s mask mandate. His declared state of emergency remains in place, although no one can explain wherein the emergency lies. He just likes power.

The Wyoming Representative said she believes some fell in line with the wider party because of these concerns and insisted more lawmakers were in favor of his impeachment 'than are willing to say so'.

Tucker Carlson, whose viewership is more than 4 times that of Don Lemon’s, likes to characterize the CNN host as stupid.
