Woke Colleges

Did you take the SATs to try to get into college? Your kids may not have to. More than 1,300 schools have become “test optional,” meaning students need not submit SAT scores. Some, like the entire University of California system, now won’t even look at scores. There are seemingly legitimate reasons to oppose the tests. Richer kids often get tutoring that gives them an advantage.Critics claim the tests are culturally biased and say that’s why Blacks and Latinos don’t score as well. But that doesn’t explain why Asians do so well. In fact, Asians get the best SAT scores.I assume it’s more about culture and parenting.

Ditching the SATs opens the door to even more arbitrary admissions policies and likely minority mismatches that result in higher minority drop out rates at elite colleges. Elite colleges' diversity admission statistics might look better, but after admission, things could get ugly quickly.

In the face of social promotions and grade inflation, colleges have had only national testing to assess suitability for admission. Yes, some students are able to prove their mettle through other means but for those admitted and destined to fail, we will all be paying for their failures and debt. College is worthwhile for those able to succeed but for those who aren't it becomes a life-long emotional and financial burden. High schools need to resurrect shop and stop pushing college on everyone including marginal students.

I took the SATs back in 1970 and when I applied to colleges, the one I wound up attending didn’t look at my scores at all. I went to art school and they were interested in my artistic abilities rather than my test scores. I had to submit a portfolio of my work and that was what my admission was based on. These days I think that art schools no longer require any proof of artistic ability; they let pretty much anyone in as long as the kid can cough up the $30,000 annual tuition.

Easy answer, colleges have been dumbing down their curriculum for so long that even basketball majors are awarded degrees. Even with that, they will experience a high dropout rate but hey, they already got their money. The rubber meets the road when these woke dunces begin their first job, if they can find a job in their "specialty" and the boss realizes that the degree in their hand is worth about as much as toilet paper. Wait - toilet paper has become more valuable in the past year.

Our grandson was a solid C student in high school. He also ran his own lawn service with four employees. Besides individual customers he also had contracts to maintain the grounds in three gated communities. He wrote his SAT’s and scored the the top 3% in the country. This solid C student was now being recruited by outstanding universities and offered academic scholarships. He accepted one of the scholarships, sold his company and banked a very nice sum of money. He is doing very well in college but is missing the “campus” experience due to Covid.

In lieu of SAT scores, they will have to come up with the sappiest, most demoralizing personal story they can muster. Be sure to include multiple rationalizations for why your child is a victim in at least three separate categories.

If admission to an academic program that was formerly competitive and selection based on ability is now to be determined by random drawing from the whole field of applicants so as to avoid being 'Racist', then selection to each position on all the athletic teams- football, baseball, basketball- should also be by random drawing from the whole of the student population. To avoid being 'Racist'. See how that works out.

(Photos) Rushdie’s work earned him death threats from the Iranian government in the 1980s, and his book “The Satanic Verses” was banned in the country in 1988. This is a breaking story and will be updated.

One of the main reasons why the left’s propaganda is so effective with so many is the ability to stick to a script in order to present a uniform narrative across media outlets with talking heads all regurgitating the same talking points, and a perfect example is the aftermath of the FBI’s storming of former President Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. Following initial confusion and outrage over the extreme escalation in the regime’s political war against the leading candidate of the opposition party, those whose livelihoods depend on their being able to sell falsehoods and distortions to the public clearly got the memo and Grabien Media founder Tom Elliott put together

The FBI raid of former President Donald Trump's Florida estate sparked backlash from extreme right-wing users on internet forums against a Florida magistrate judge who approved the unprecedented search, prompting concerns about judicial security from law enforcement in the Palm Beach area. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, who is believed to have signed the still-sealed FBI warrant approving the bureau’s Monday raid at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, has been subject to antisemitic attacks, disclosure of where he allegedly lives, and threats against his family on pro-Trump online social media forums, including the message board formerly known as "TheDonald.win."

Days after the unprecedented raid of Donald Trump’s Florida home, AG Merrick Garland finally decided to address the public on Thursday regarding the matter. Some naively hoped that he’d provide a legitimate justification for the raid, but as expected, that didn’t materialize, mostly because there was no justification. Instead, Garland danced about while revealing a few noteworthy things. One, we learned that he was the one that ordered the raid, which is not surprising given he’s a partisan who obviously holds a grudge against the former president. Two, the DOJ is asking the judge in the case to unseal the warrant, which may or may not tell us anything

Attorney General Merrick Garland suggested Thursday that the Department of Justice (DOJ) sought “less intrusive” means of obtaining presidential documents before using a search warrant, and an FBI raid, on former President Donald Trump’s home. Garland’s remarks were the first public comments made by the DOJ since Monday’s raid, which shocked many observers. He confirmed that he had personally approved the search warrant — though he left open the question of the methods of the raid. Garland did, however, suggest that the DOJ saw the raid as a last resort: “[T]he department does not take such a decision lightly where possible. It is standard practice to seek less intrusive means

If Donald Trump was going to run again, we assumed that the media would once again be the former president's largest pool of support, unwittingly, of course, with the nonstop negative coverage that would have only pushed more voters into his corner. Matt Taibbi noted that they're the "kingmakers of suck," arrogant, and more concerned with expounding on their moral superiority than covering the elections properly. Post-Russian collusion hoax, no one believes them, as evidenced by the appalling trust numbers the American public has given this industry over the past five or so years. That all ended last night.

Though all that seems to have happened during the banana republic-like raid, the FBI did something else, something even more horrific: it rooted through Melania Trump’s clothes, rifling through her outfits and underwear in what can be interpreted as nothing other than a gross attempt at humiliating the former president and his family.
